Lugar tranquilo de Dordoña, paraíso para los amantes de la naturaleza.

Ubicado en su propio valle privado al final de una pista aislada, se encuentra Le Moulin du Gravier.
Aunque a menos de 20 minutos del aeropuerto de Bergerac y de la autopista A89, esta cabaña se beneficia de una ubicación totalmente apartada y tranquila en la pequeña aldea de St Martin des Combes, entre árboles y en su propio valle privado. La propiedad da a una hermosa fuente de agua natural que es visitada frecuentemente por un martín pescador. Hay una gran cantidad de vida silvestre y aves y en verano, muchas mariposas visitan las orquídeas silvestres que prosperan en los campos circundantes.

El edificio en sí se beneficia de estar en un solo nivel, lo que lo hace adecuado para personas con movilidad limitada y comprende un amplio dormitorio de doble aspecto con cama king size. Lamentablemente, tanto el dormitorio como el baño no ofrecen el ancho suficiente para permitir el acceso de sillas de ruedas. El gran salón tiene una cocina bien equipada y una sala de estar con dos sofás con TV de pantalla plana y una estufa de leña. Las puertas francesas se abren a una terraza con fuente de agua y vistas a los potreros (se proporciona barbacoa). El cuarto de baño con lavabo e inodoro está completamente alicatado y se beneficia de la calefacción por suelo radiante.
Se ofrece alojamiento adicional para dos amigos / familiares en nuestra cabaña Shepherds, que consta de un comedor rústico de cocina, terraza privada y baño completo.

La piscina también está amurallada y privada con su propia ducha solar, es exclusivamente para uso de los huéspedes.
La cabaña está convenientemente situada entre Perigueux y Bergerac.

Really lovely

Lovely cottage with excellent equipment etc and all very smart. Very comfortable bed. Peaceful location - delightful to sit on the terrace and watch the local wildlife. Great pool: warm and clean and secluded. Really good holiday area with excellent restaurants.

We had a lovely time at the moulin du gravier, it's in a beautiful secluded spot with an amazing pool area. Michael and Louise were on hand in the big house to help us out with any problems and they were great hosts. We also loved meeting their dogs! Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Wonderfully Relaxing

Our expectations were exceeded from start to finish, the gite was fantastic with everything you could possibly need, and the pool really did have the wow factor. Clearly lots of hard work and thought have gone into creating what is a perfect location if you just want to chill out in beautiful surroundings with nothing but peace and quiet. I can honestly say its the most relaxed we've both been on a holiday. Michael was very helpful and met us on arrival day after which Daniel, who was a gem throughout was always on hand if you needed anything. Great week and I'm sure we'll be looking to return sooner rather than later. Ron & Karen

Wonderful retreat

The gite was beautifully presented and fully equipped. The location was a good distance to Bergerac and local restaurants. The salt water-pool was cleaned and maintained on a daily basis and was a nice haven away from the gite. The owners Michael and Louise were a lovely couple and a wealth of knowledge and were able to recommend local amenities and sites. A truly exceptional week in the beautiful country side of S W France.

Wow just brilliant

What an amazing holiday and an amazing location. The property is truly outstanding, cosy clean and very private. The pool has the 5 star wow factor, clean warm and totally private. We felt terrible that Mike and Louise did not use it when we were there as they respect total privacy despite the heat. Mike and Louse are brilliant hosts, friendly and easy to get on with. Really peaceful - get away from it all.

The cottage is beautiful, situated in the middle of forest, meaning it was extremely peaceful and quiet. Just what we wanted. It is extremely well furnished, spacious and comfortable. The American fridge/freezer and range cooker were great. The pool was fantastic, and very welcome during the extremely hot weather. Daniel, the live-in caretaker, was the soul of discretion, but always available if needed. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful gite for the most relaxing holiday!!

The gite is in a secluded position at the end of a long track and is very peaceful set amongst fields and woodland. It's extremely comfortable and well equipped, absolutely ideal for a complete get-away-from-it-all holiday whilst still being in easy reach of many towns, villages, restaurants and activities to please everyone. The pool is an excellent size and for exclusive use by the gite guests, with the most comfortable relaxing chairs you could wish for! If we had any questions or needed anything the friendly, but discreet, owners were on hand as much or as little as we needed. We had a wonderful holiday in St.Martin and have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful property. If, in a year so's time, we decide to re-visit the Dordogne this is definitely be the gite we would want to book again.

Accueil chaleureux . A recommander aux couples qui aiment la nature, le silence, les oiseaux, la lumière des étoiles. La propriété se gagne au bout d'un km de sentier caillouteux et dispose d'un bel espace piscine pour la détente après ( ou avant!) les balades. Bergerac à 15 km et stt Périgueux à 30 km méritent absolument la visite.

Un gîte charmant et un hôte très accueillant

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet agréable gîte. Le propriétaire nous a très bien reçus (merci pour le vin et le champagne!), il était à l'écoute et très soucieux de notre bien être. Même si sa maison est juste à côté du gîte, nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous! La piscine privative fut particulièrement appréciable... mais l'eau était un peu trop froide à notre goût (environ 19°C). Petit bémol également sur la connexion internet qui n'est pas très bonne et le fait que la télévision n'offre aucune chaîne française... Idem pour les quelques DVD a disposition : pas de VF, ni de VOST... Mais Michael a promis de s'en occuper! Merci encore à lui pour sa gentillesse, nous recommandons chaleureusement son gîte :)

Beautiful gite, fantastic location.

We stayed in St Martin Des Combes for a week as part of our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The property is beautifully decorated, clean and modern, but with beautiful character features throughout. The terrace at the back has its own little stream and has a view over open fields. We had lovely evenings sitting out there watching the moon come up and enjoying the total peace and quiet. The pool, which was ours exclusively, was a wonderful bonus and we spent many afternoons lazing in the sun on the loungers there. St Martin des Combes was a great base to explore from, we visited Bergerac, Chateau de Monbazillac, Rouffingnac Caves, Limeuil and kayaked from Vitrac and Beynac. All come highly recommended. Michael was a brilliant host and had great ideas and recommendations for days out. We would thoroughly recommend this as a great place to stay and enjoy the Dordogne. Peter and Eira

Sehr schönes Gäste-Steinaus, gut ausgestattet, sehr ruhig gelegen, Natur pur, so richtig zum Abschalten und erholen. mit geheiztem Schwimmingpool. Man muss mobil sein, nächster Einkaufsladen ist ca 5 km entfert.

Tranquil and a little gem

Mike and Louise were the perfect hosts and after finding the house down a long an secluded drive what a wonderful setting with small streams around the property. The accommodation was fantastic it was comfortable and all the comforts of home, oh and thank you for the bottle of wine. The pool was great an ideal space to enjoy the sunshine and dip in the pool. The area has some great places to visit, markets in Bergerac and plenty of places to walk. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this beautiful cottage/gite.

We share our time between both the farm and our home in France. Our passion is nature, wildlife and peaceful surroundings. We love searching local markets for antiques and artisan food producers. We also are involved in the local animal rescue centre in Bergerac and have two rescue Weimeraner dogs that Louise trains and uses for displays at dog charity events, to help promote re-habilitation of unwanted dogs.

We first came to the Dordogne 20 years ago, camping and then self-catering and discovered this lovely area after renting a house nearby. We bought the house in 2000, it was love at first sight! For us, the location was perfect; quiet and private, although it has needed a lot of improvements, we feel it is our own piece of paradise.

The Moulin du Gravier's unique position is itself truly special; the tranquillity and peace in this hidden valley just has to be experienced.

The swimming pool is for the exclusive use of our guests and is a real sun trap, benefitting from a solar shower and luxury sunloungers with shades. It has lovely views across the valley and forests and is totally private.
