A little dated with perfect surroundings.

We enjoyed our swim in the pool every morning. The kitchen was fitted for our needs To enter the house you have a hurdle of no side walk and some rocky pavement. We enjoyed our stay. '

Tolle Unterkunft für Ruhesuchende

Alles bestens für Leute wie uns, die etwas abseits vom Trubel wohnen möchten. Der fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbare Strand Cabanas Velhas ist herrlich, nicht überlaufen und bietet zum Glück(!) noch keinen Wassersport an, was uns den Lärm von Jetski, Booten etc. erspart hat. Mit dem Auto sind die Restaurants und kleinen Läden in Burgau in 5 Minuten und der große Intermarche bei Budens in weniger als 10 Minuten erreichbar und man ist auch schnell auf der Schnellstraße um die Gegend zu erkunden. Auch wenn die Wohnung nicht mehr ganz neu ist, sie ist sauber und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Nur bei der Schiebetür zum Balkon braucht man viel Gefühl, um sie zu öffnen bzw. zu schließen, vielleicht lässt sich das ja irgendwie beheben? Herrlicher saubere Pool, ganz für uns alleine. Eigentlich mietet man hier ein ganzes Haus, da niemand sonst anwesend ist, auch wenn ein paar Räume abgeschlossen sind.

Great Holiday

The Villa itself is good, has mostly everything you need & the good size, clean & private pool is an added bonus Great location, very peaceful area. Agree with some comments re updating some things (but doesn’t this apply to everyone’s home & let’s remember this is a rental property!). Some minor issues that we have communicated to the owner directly, rather than make what is a good review appear negative. The villa can be described as ‘rustic’ but that’s part of its charm & we had no issue with the cutlery/crockery, the bed linen & towels are fine (& appear new) & the shower worked fine throughout our stay. We agree with comment re the pathway from the parking area / road to the entrance. Accepting it may be the responsibility of the local council, a general clearing & tidy of that small area would help. Restaurants- definitely recommend O’Tiagos in Budens & Miam, Esquina & ‘A Barraca’ in Burgau. By far the best place for food & drink is the beach bar, ‘Restaurante As Cabanas’, which is more or less directly in front of the villa and a 5min walk, so everyone can partake in a drink (or two) & no designated driver / taxi is needed. Great place with a good choice of food and drinks at very good prices. Excellent staff who are knowledgeable & friendly. Good parking & situated on a great beach too. The food is outstanding & to restaurant quality, far superior to what you would expect from a beach bar. We went to good restaurants in local towns but this is by far the best.

In need of love and modernisation

We had a lovely holiday in the Portuguese sun and enjoyed the area and the beaches, walks, restaurants etc. greatly. However the house was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. It’s situated on a great plot with rural views and the sea from one balcony, but the garden area has been left as bare scrub land. The neighbours have beautiful verdant gardens. This house doesn’t even have a path for the few metres between the pavement and the gate. A few hundred euros and a gardener could transform it. The house also needs updating to today’s standards at this price bracket. The kitchen is retro 1980’s/90’s and needs new plain crockery and cutlery. IKEA could sort it in an afternoon. The towels were old and rough, the bed linen terrible and the shower old and unpredictable. We did have a wonderful holiday away from our busy jobs, but realistically in this price bracket this is off the pace by 2024 standards. I feel bad writing this as it is clearly a dearly loved family holiday home but to let it out it needs major change from our experience of similar properties. Sorry 😞

Enjoyable Villa in Barrancao

We enjoyed our two weeks stay at the Villa. The online description was consistent with what we experienced. The location, view and pool were definitely highlights. We often started out the day with coffee and breakfast on the balcony while admiring the rolling hills across the road. Being able to hike along the cliff-top trails without having to drive to them was great, and having a swim in the pool was very refreshing after a couple hours of hiking in the hot sun. The pool was clean and well maintained throughout the duration of our visit.

Terrific location

This is a great location (midway between Sagres & Lagos) to explore the Algarve but have peace away from the touristy spots! Very clean, extra towels & 2nd bathroom a plus. Tough to find so the host needs to write some better directions. The house does need some maintenance, stove light & fan not working, pans really unusable & need replacing, light out in the underground level laundry room. As per the listing, no soap or shampoo are supplied, but we never did find the hair dryer that was supposed to be there. We really were comfortable and really enjoyed stargazing from the deck in the evenings! I would definitely return.

You'll want to come back!

Two surprises! Firstly, it really is a 5-7 minute stroll to the beach, and secondly the pool isn't shared! This is a perfect villa if you prefer not to be in the bustle of a busy resort, the beach is clean, quiet, sandy and even has lifeguards. The villa is really well equipped with books, games and plenty of tableware which means that you can run the dishwasher with a clear conscience. There is a good Intermarche in Budens, a short drive away. Rosie and Tiago (who meets and greets) could not be more helpful, and the locals are very friendly even if you don't speak any Portuguese! Wholeheartedly recommend.

Peaceful and relaxing stay

We enjoyed our visit very much, in this home from home villa. Close to amenities but on the outskirts so it was very peaceful and not right in the town itself. Lovely places to eat just down the road and nice sandy beaches close by.

Amazing villa in superb location

We loved our stay in this beautiful villa, in a very peaceful location but with a superb beach very close. Good choice of restaurants and bars in the neighbouring villages which are still relatively unspoilt. The villa is very well equipped and has loads of space inside and a brilliant pool with sunbeds and a roof terrace ideal for stargazing. Definitely recommend.
