It was so enjoyable to have you and your family stay with us! Fishing off the pier together was the best. I lost count of how many fish we caught. I hope you'll come back again.

Couldn't have pictured a more perfect vacation!!
My wife, 3 young children, & myself spent 3 amazing nights at this cozy, beautiful cabin. The atmosphere was perfect. The fishing off the dock was hot. We had gorgeous weather to enjoy a couple boat rides on the lake & flowage. The bonfire area was so comfortable & relaxing. Needless to say the kids didn't want to leave. The Owners were there for anything we needed & were so friendly. Perfect Vacation weekend.

Jake,
It was a pleasure to have you and your beautiful family stay at our cabin. We're glad you had good fishing off the dock and the 18" bass was a nice bonus. We'd love to have you back anytime.
God Bless,
Jim and Kathy
Our visit was for 5 nights. Bird hunting the north woods with our dog. Cabin was quaint and perfect for a week “off the grid”! As close to Civilization as we preferred to be for takeout and shopping. Definitely will be back!!
This small resort is the perfect place to unwind. The area offers everything you could ask for. The game room, boating and fishing were a hit with the kids. Jim and Kathy are wonderful people and hosts.
Wonderful, relaxing little resort nestled in the beauty of the north woods. Could not have asked to for better owners! Wonderful people. Can’t wait to return.
The cabin was perfect for a weekend of snowmobiling in the Northwoods! Super clean and very close to the trails.
Cathy and Jim were fantastic hosts and were very accommodating.
Chose this property for the location, hiking and biking trails nearby, and the cabin. We were not disappointed. Owners Jim and Kathy were the perfect hosts. Had full use of watercraft, pontoon, fire wood and outdoor games. We were the last guests of the season, but felt like we were the first of the season. We saw albino dear, eagles, squirrels of all colors, and loons. Short drives to Hurley, WI/Ironwood, MI, and other towns in the UP of MI. Definitely a return location. You will not be disappointed.
Another great stay in a very comfortable cabin. Jim and Kathy were very accommodating. We are already making plans to return.

North Woods Retreat
On our recent trip we stayed only for two nights as we were visiting family in the area. Due to the extreme cold conditions there were a few issues but the owners did an awesome job to ensure our stay was all we expected. We are hopeful to plan a visit in the summer and will be looking to stay here again.

Fabulous stay at Fishtrap Lake
Wonderful partial week at the Eagle's Post. Jim and Kathy are gracious hosts, welcoming with many great suggestions and lots to do there and close by. Boulder Junction is just a short three mile bike ride away with the last bit on the trail. Fishing was good, lake was warm and cabin was cozy.

serene setting
The cabin is just a few yards from the water which makes the screened in porch a perfect place to sit, relax, and take in the scenery. Jim is the perfect host - attentive to every request while fully respecting one's privacy. Paddle or motor to the left of the cabin and you are immediately on Fishtrap Lake. Paddle or motor to the right and the Manitowish River takes you into wilderness with a couple of hundred yards. While kayaking, I saw bald eagles, loons, hawks, great blue herons, ducks, a sandhill crane, beavers, and -on a remote marsh area off the Manitowish River- white swans. The bass fishing was quite good. A perfect place to enjoy one of the loveliest areas in Wisconsin.

The Perfect Getaway
Jim and Kathy were fantastic hosts and provided the perfect getaway for us on our trip to the northwoods. The rustic sunset cabin had every amenity we needed and was actually more spacious than we expected. We enjoyed the perfect location along the Manitowish River and took advantage of the kayaks, fishing location, and firepit. If you stay here, do yourself a favor and spend some time with Jim and Kathy. They are great people. We will definitely return to Eagle's Post Retreat.

Great outdoor amenities, extremely nice hosts, comfortable stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The owners were helpful if we needed anything, which we really did not since everything was provided. The access to boats, and things to do was wonderful. The two bedrooms are very small, but comfortable. There is a loft upstairs as well. Would definitely stay there again! If you are looking for a TV this is not your place. At least our cabin did not have one which just encouraged us to play games as a family, which was awesome!

Fishing weekend
We returned for our 2nd annual fishing weekend and enjoyed our stay. Jim set us up with a boat which made our weekend. Everyone wanted 3 day minimum rental but Jim let us use it for our short stay at a great price. Now only if the fish were as cooperative!

About the host
Hosted by Jim and Kathy Mozdren
We lived in Northern Illinois most of our lives and spent many vacations in Boulder Junction over the years. We finally decided to make it our home. We purchased Eagle's Post Resort in the spring of 2017 and we are continuing to rent our three cabins to vacationers who want to enjoy the beauty of the North Woods.
Why they chose this property
Our cabins are situated in a very unique setting. At the mouth of Fishtrap Lake, you can enjoy great fishing on a lake that has no public boat access. In one direction you will find a beautiful lake that has very little boat traffic. In another direction, there is a small number of cabins and summer homes along the shore, like many other Wisconsin lakes. If you travel east down the Manitowish River, within 100 yards of our shore you will be transported into a beautiful, untouched area of Wisconsin state land, where there are no homes, just miles of scenic views, great fishing, and the occasional bald eagle.
