Feel the ocean breezes on the lower front porch overlooking the shady lawn and flower beds, the upper front porch off the queen bedroom or in the lovely open backyard.
The house has been lovingly restored and renovated with a mind to mixing vintage and modern beach design. Enter the front of the house to the open and bright living room. The front porch beckons for a morning cup of coffee and newspaper. The large dining room seats 10 and the earth-toned kitchen includes all the necessities and extras you need for a perfect stay. The laundry room includes high capacity washer and dryer. Upstairs are 4 relaxing bedrooms including a master with a king and its own bathroom with stand up marble shower, a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a nautical bunk room with 2 bunk beds for the kids. There is also a bathroom with bathtub on this floor. The third floor is a fantastic getaway for older kids. There are two twin beds, sofas, tv, games and a nice sized table for playing games or doing a puzzle in rainy weather. There is also extra sleeping in this apartment-sized room with a pull-out couch and a trundle bed.
There are unlimited ways to spend your day! After a day at the beach, enjoy the Fantasy Island Amusement Park with the kids and then a quick stop at the arcade. Or go to the Thundering Surf Water Park for the morning and then pop over to Surflight Theatre's childrens' theatre. Or mini-golf! Or bike ride along the bike path that passes right by the house! How about just relaxing on the front porch and enjoying a refreshing iced tea while you watch all of the other people riding their bikes along the bike path? The library is close by with a wonderful selection of books for a great beach read for adults and children alike. The Maritime Museum is also close and a great spot for learning about the maritime history of Long Beach Island. And at the end of the day, you always head back to the inviting cottage for a refreshing outdoor shower or a family barbecue with the natural gas barbecue grill and lots of comfy furniture for lounging around. Your week will leave you relaxed and exhilerated.
In the off-season, the owners frequently spend time in the house with their dog who does not go above the first floor and does not go on the furniture. Every spring the house is deeply cleaned from top to bottom to make the house as allergen free as possible. There is off-street parking in front of the garage and lots of street parking in front of the house.
The cottage is a perfect beach getaway for multigenerational families. Many extras are included to make your stay wonderful. :)
