We experienced travel delays and the hosts were very responsive to our communications. We actually missed our first day and they offered to check us in at 10:30 am on the next day. When we arrived, we were met by someone from the coffee shop next door. The flat had obviously been recently cleaned and the bedding was freshly laundered. However, there were obvious water stains on the ceiling and a strong smell of mold in the kitchen. It was unseasonably hot in London and the flat had no AC (which we knew ahead of time) but the windows in the bedroom opened up to an adjacent rooftop. My wife and children did not feel safe leaving the windows open while they slept. The building is essentially vacant aside from a flat on each floor. This was not the vibe we were looking for. It was also a good 10-15 minute walk to the TubeIn fairness to the host, we did not give them an opportunity to address our issues. The safety and convenience issues were not something they could fix anyway. We had arrived on a trans-Atlantic flight and we needed to make alternate accommodation plans ASAP. That said, upon advising the host that we weren’t going to be staying at the property, we received no contact from them. I would not recommend this property for a family, or in the summer months where AC may be required.4.5/10
