About this property

Spacious Apartment Above Westpunt Bay with Views

Come visit the island of Curacao and all it's wonders. We have great diving, snorkeling, and ocean kayaking from the beach right behind the house and there is a full service dive shop (Go West Diving) just a short walk down the road. We are located at the west end of the island, out in the country. There have been over 45 species of birds (out of over 160) spotted from the house. Daily you will see herds of goats and flocks of Parakeets in the neighborhood.

This apartment is quite spacious with 1,800 square feet and views of both the mountains and the ocean, fishing boats and sunsets.

Not much out here but nature's beauty; rolling green hills and an azure blue sea. Enjoy the sunset every night and then an abundance of stars without any city lights to diminish their brightness. We have dive lockers and a rinse tank. We will be glad to advise you on any excursions including superb shore diving, snorkeling, mountain bike rides or even tours of town or the island. David has created a few challenging MTB trails along the North coast as well as a challenging Disc Golf Course. Christoffel National Park is just a 5 minute drive away as well as many of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The capital of Willemstad is a 40 minute drive away with excellent shopping, restaurants, colorful Dutch style building and casinos galore. There is something for everyone on Curacao from golf to ostrich rides.

Our upstairs apartment is furnished with high quality American bedding and linens with a view of both the mountains and the ocean. We have begun to serve lunch and dinner on the terrace on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, but can assist you with other meals if desired.

Couldn't have been better! Sunshine and David were very welcoming and gracious hosts. They were the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. Friendly and helpful and more than willing to share their knowledge of the island and all of it's intricacies. Throw in their weekend restaurant, which was very good, and it would be hard to find a better place to stay on Curacao.

Wonderful Location

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. This end of the island is close to a lot of great beaches and other interesting sites. The apartment had everything we needed for cooking and had an assortment of spices, oils, etc. we also had a few meals at Sol Food which were great! I would stay here again if I return to the island.

Westpunt Holiday

Loved our stay in Westpunt with Sunshine and David. We travelled to beaches and local attractions and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Their restaurant on weekends was a bonus for us and the food offerings were delicious! Both Sunshine and David were so helpful with suggestions and information - we felt right at home. I hope they don’t mind if we visit again!

Wonderful getaway for a small group!

Wow - what a perfect trip! This part of Curaçao is laid back and a great launching pad for all the west coast beaches. Sunshine and David are so kind and helpful. The spot has a view of Piskado Bay, and is attached to their family restaurant, which was really convenient! They were even able to accommodate my friend’s strict dietary restrictions. We loved our stay and hope to return!!

Amazing Place to Stay and One We Will Go Back to

We stayed with Sunshine and David for 4 weeks and thourghly enjoyed it. They are amazing hosts always wiiling to pick something up from the grocery store or offer a suggestion on a dive site, hike or restaurant. The apartment was well furnished with everything you could think of and then some. We dined at their adjacent restaurant Sol Food on a regular basis and the food was nothing short of amazing. We will absolutely be going back.

Perfect for scuba

had a wonderful stay at this place, which was perfect for my diving trip. The location is very convenient, as it is close to Go West Divers, where I booked my dives. The host was very responsive and friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. The unit was well stocked with all the amenities, such as towels, kitchenware, Wi-Fi, etc. The place was also very clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the ocean from the enclosed porch area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great scuba diving experience in Curaçao. Five stars!

Our family loved staying here

After arriving on the island, we drove to Westpunt and spent five nights at this location. It was such a great introduction to Curacao. Sunshine met us personally and showed us the accommodations. It was clean and full of character. Love the old windows and amazing balcony where we ate meals and enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze. Great location within walking distance to the beach and cozy restaurant right downstairs! The kids loved seeing goats wandering the streets and lizards sitting on the rooftops. We loved being close to the attractions on the quiet end of the island. Thanks for the fantastic memories!

Loved Just About Everything

Sunshine and David being from the US was nice, the location very near the beach and diving shop was great. My one and only gripe if you want to call it that is the lack of air conditioning in the living room area. The bedrooms had it and due to it being so hot out side during our stay it did limit the three of us hanging out in the living room together and we retreated to our individual bedrooms. They also have a VERY good restaurant on the premises that is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that we enjoed very much

Fantastic spot!

We absolutely loved our stay in Westpunt. It exceeded our expectations. Sunshine was very responsive to communications and 2 weeks before, she began sending the information we needed to make our arrival go smoothly. We went as 2 couples. Each couple had their own room and bathroom. We never needed the air conditioning on because each night there was a wonderful breeze to keep us cool.This VRBO had everything we wanted for a chill vacation. We made half our dinners at "home" and half we ate out, including at Sunshine and Dave's restaurant. (Great spot!)Everyday as we set out in our rental car to a different beach, Sunshine would give us tips and recommendations. Loved this!!We fell in love with this place and are already planning to return someday.

Remote area- away from city life

Sunshine (the owner) is thoughtful, kind, and friendly. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms are similar enough that one person doesn’t have a better experience than the other. My only caution to anyone staying here is to bring earplugs. The roosters crow and the neighborhood dogs bark 20 out of 24 hours a day. Everything else in the VRBO description is correct. The restaurant is busy on the weekends- and their food, pricing and service, is excellent. Overall, a good value for the price. I personally liked the remoteness of this location. If you want city/night life, this may feel too quiet for you.

Wonderful hosts! Sunshine shares so much information and tips about Curacao! The apartment is lovely and nicely appointed.A short walk to great snorkeling from the beach - saw sea turtles, a ray, an octopus, and a great variety of fish. Beautiful place on earth

This apartement is located at a wonderful spot on Curacao island, well equiped and very good for diving. The menus at Sol Food have been always very delicious, too. We felt very comfortable during our stay. Thanks to our lovely hosts Sunshine and David!

Sunshine and David’s place is a wonderful home on the northern portion of Curacao. The view is right over a cove in the bay. A wonderful open warm space with old world wood embellishments and cool gulf breezes. Their restaurant downstairs was perfect and the best meals we had on the island. There are so many snorkeling and scuba diving spots close by in ideal turquoise bays. You are a 5 minute walk from swimming with the turtles.Best of all Sunshine and David were the most wonderful, warm and engaging hosts of anywhere I have ever traveled. This was a special trip in paradise and staying with them waas the ultimate place to be on the island. Thank YOu!!!

Home away from home

My boyfriend and I traveled to Curacao to celebrate his 50th birthday! We stayed in Blue Bay for a few nights before moving to Westpunt and staying at this location for the remainder of our trip. If we had it to do all over again, we would have stayed here the ENTIRE TIME! We loved our time in Westpunt and Sunshine and David were incredible hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed, each step of the way and we felt like family while staying there. Their location is excellent for snorkeling and a nice bonus was eating at their restaurant over the weekend! It was delicious! We definitely recommend and will stay here again when we return to the Island. Thank you, Sunshine and David!!

Great time in Westpunt

Sunshine and David are wonderful and super helpful hosts, and the apartment is beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped. The location in Westpunt is super convenient to beaches (Playa Grandi with the turtles is 3 mins walk and Playa Kalki with excellent snorkeling is 7 mins walk) and many attractions/activities eg Christoffel park, Shete Boka, Watamula, cliff jumping at Grote Knip etc. The restaurant (Sol Food) is excellent as well - we particularly loved the pizzas (which you can take away as well) and the sangrias. One thing to note is that there aren’t really any good grocery stores near the apartment, with the nearest big supermarket about 30 mins away in Piscadera. We would gladly return.

Wonderful and Relaxing

Dave & Sunshine were wonderful hosts and the apartment had everything we needed for our family. Swimming with the turtles in the bay was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. A big thanks to Sunshine & David for making us feel welcome in their home.

Big comfortable apartment & nice host & hostess

First of all, host & hostess (David & Sunshine) were very nice and helpful. Our apartment was big and comfortable on the second floor above Sol Food restaurant. It was walking distance to the popular Playa Grandi. Apartment was fully stocked with kitchen utilities, books and other useful items. Sol Food restaurant opens on weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun),and the place was packed very much whole time which created some noise, but it was not big deal. We couldn't hear them when we closed our bedroom windows. TV set in the apartment was old and not operational. They tried to fix it but was not able to do so. But Wi-fi connection was good and we didn't miss any news. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we can recommend this place to all of our friends.

Join David for a tour on his single track trails. Disc golfers? Bring your trusty discs and experience the island's challenges.
