Everything was as advertised and dog-friendly. However, a golf cart is essential due to the extensive walking required, although they do provide bikes in the garage.

From the start Kevin was super communicative! Very easy check in. House was extremely clean and very modern! Honestly probably one of the nicest vacation rentals we’ve stayed in. Very convenient location. Community pool was very close and not crowded at all. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and already planning our next trip!

Wonderful small town vibes right next to the besch

Great place and Kevin was wonderful to work with. This house is a short drive from a quaint small town with all your needs. A quick walk to the beach was great. Beach was never more crowded than 5-10 families, even on Memorial Day weekend!

Perfect location!

Beautiful home with lots of room! It has a great location, close to the path to the beach & steps from the pool. Be sure to purchase the golf cart if available, it came in handy on the trips to the main part of Windmark for dinner each night!

Absolutely loved our stay!

The house was wonderful! It was beautifully decorated and spacious and clean. It was stocked for cooking and had everything we could have possibly needed. The host was very responsive to all my questions prior to the trip and even took care of our golf cart rental, which was a must! I would recommend the Heron House to anyone, and we hope to return next year!

Great house for a vacay

We love staying at Windmark beach and have been coming here for years. This was our first stay at Heron House. Plenty of space with a nice yard for the dogs. Equipped with beach chairs so we didn’t have to bring anything along. Both pools are open with views of the beach. Lovely neighborhood for walking. We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend.

Great house for a family

My husband, our two girls and my MIL stayed at the Sand bar for a week with our two dogs. We had the best time. The girls enjoyed their bunk bed room and my MIL loved the bathroom! The screened porch was nice as well as the beach cart! Will definitely stay again if we come back to MB!

We had a great stay at Windmark. Loved taking the golf cart up to the community area to grab breakfast and coffee. Windmark beach is a quick golf cart ride away. House was clean and new. Kevin was very responsive to any questions we had. No complaints!

The house is actually nicer than the pictures show. Nicely decorated. Easy walk to the beach. Screen porch and available water hoses were great. We really like the outdoor shower. Close to two great restaurants. Paradise grill and shipwreck raw bar. We are already planning on next years trip. It was our first stay in St. Joe and we loved it.

Nice Clean, Comfortable Stay

We enjoyed our time in Port St Joe and appreciated this nice home. It was roomy and comfortable. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. Such a great place to just chill and relax!! This owner and community are very dog friendly, too. I gave the location and neighborhood 4 stars b/c the Windmark beaches were full of biting flies and 2 of us slipped and fell getting in the pool. However, Mexico and San Blas Beaches are very close and were great! Highly recommend! Thank you!

Beautiful beach house in a fantastic beach community!

The Heron House was PERFECT for our family's 4th of July vacation. The beach community the house is in is gorgeous and has ALL of the amenities we loved...fabulous restaurants, great shopping, a big zero-entry pool, and, of course, it's a quick walk to the gorgeous Forgotten Coast! The host was super responsive and happy to provide any information we asked for. The house is new and in pristine condition, and it was equipped with just what we needed for the beach: a rolling cart, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. The back porch of the house was set up so well, with a comfy seating area for guests to lounge around while the others are grilling. The back porch was a perfect place for us to watch the 4th of July fireworks! We will definitely be staying at The Heron House again!

Summer Vacay

The house has an open floor plan. The layout is much more spacious than expected from the outside. The house was clean. The beach acres is just a few houses down if you plan to walk. If you take a golf cart it’s just a little ways down to the next access. Once you get on the golf cart road you can take any beach access to the ocean. The beach accesses for Windmark North are all trails in the sand over the dunes in between hedges and trees. The other Windmark accesses have wooden decks that lead to the sand. Our beach access put us across the ocean from the tip of the cape so we still had decent waves. There was good bit of sargassum grass washed up onto the beaches. We learned this is part of Mother Nature this time of year and should be gone within a week or so. The pool for Windmark North was a fairly long walk, but we had a golf cart so it was no problem. The pool was very clean, spacious and overlooks the ocean. I do recommend a golf cart. It allows you to travel to the beach, pool and main Windmark with ease. At the main Windmark there’s a pizza restaurant, the Mill for beverages, a coffee/breakfast shop, ice cream and more. We frequented that area and having a golf cart made it so easy. It would be impossible to walk there and without a golf cart you’d have to make the drive by car. The property manager communicated numerous times prior to our arrival and while we were there. He was great to work with. We plan to return to PSJ in the future.

We currently live in the North Metro Atlanta area where we raise our 3 kids. We love the Gulf coast and travel to the Florida white sand beaches frequently. We fish, golf, travel and enjoy life!

Why they chose this property

We bought this cottage for our vacation home while living in the Atlanta area. We couldn't get enough of this peaceful, friendly place, so we bought this gulf view home. We have a home in metro Atlanta and have decided to share this cottage with others who have fallen in love with the Gulf and the white sand beaches!

What makes this property unique

We love to walk our dog on the beach, watch our kids swim and play in the sand, ride bikes along the coast, campfires on the beach at night and take the boat out to catch some fish. If we don't feel like cooking, we head to Killer Seafood for nationally-recognized Killer Fish Tacos or a bread bowl full of fresh, local seafood and Award-winning Killer Seafood Sauce. Yum! Or, a trip to Provisions in Port Saint Joe- just a short drive up the coast to the east. Incredible food!
