Beautiful 1908 Craftsman home (Garden view unit) in the heart of one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Portland! You will never stay in a nicer garden view unit! This is urban living at it's finest. Beautiful high historic end homes, gorgeous tree lined boulevards, wonderful people, and extremely close to many wonderful restaurants and shopping. This is one of the best neighborhoods in Portland without a doubt. The wonderful and energetic neighborhoods of Sabin, Alameda, Eliot, King, Grant Park, Sullivan's Gulch and Lloyd Center all surround Historic Irvington, but she is the Grand Dame of them all!

Irvington Neighborhood is on the national register of historic places, and it is very central. You can get anywhere in Portland within 10 minutes. A car is not absolutely necessary, walk to the MAX (transportation system - 10 minutes) and the bus line is around the corner. You are a 5-10 minute walk from literally 20 restaurants! 5 minutes walking to Lloyd Center and 8 minute walk to the Rose Quarter. Downtown is a 7 minute drive or 9 minutes on the MAX.

Your basement unit is almost 500 square feet and has been completely restored. The sofa folds down to sleep a total of 4.

The vast majority of the vacation rentals in Portland operate illegally, but this house has the coveted 'Conditional Use' permit ( # 08-175885-000-00-LU)that the city requires in order to run a vacation rental for short term stays.

Our caretakers live onsite, tucked away in an apartment on the main level. Feel free to ask them for help at anytime.

This apartment is extremely well furnished, with everything you need to make your stay wonderful, giving you maximum comfort. Large windows ensure the unit is well lit, and a brand new hydroponic heating system ensures warmth on cold nights. Stainless steel appliances, travertine countertops, wireless internet, a 30' flat screen TV, DVD player and a Bose Stereo give you the luxuries that you have in your own home! Your own illuminated, private entrance on the side of the house guarantees you complete privacy.

The backyard is available for the guests of this unit. It comes complete with an herb garden(for your cooking pleasure) pergola and built in stainless steel BBQ and sink. Enjoy Portland's weather in complete privacy.

A raised herb and vegetable garden on the south side of the house is available to you.

You will get our personal recommendations for shopping, dining and activities and complimentary coffee and tea.

About The Owner

My name is Mark Reinoso, and my wife's name is Abigail Stewart. I have a daughter, Lauren, from my first marriage, who is 18. Abby and I have a8 year old son, Rocco and a 4 year old daughter Zara

We spend a lot of time in Portland, and we certainly want to welcome you to our home!

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005

Why The Owner chose Northeast Portland

I have always loved the Pacific Northwest, though my daughter, family and my business are in Phoenix. Most of my maternal family is from this area, and many relatives still live near here.

My mother was born in Vancouver, WA and used to come down to the Lloyd Center to shop with her mother when she was very young. She has fond memories of this place. When she first saw this house and this neighborhood, she literally cried.

I have always had a great time here. I love the neighborhood. I love my neighbors and the general vibe that Portland has. I love the people, and even the weather(most of the time) I love the fact that you can go hiking or biking in the AM, and be back in time for lunch at a fabulous restaurant. I love that nothing looks the same, that everything is unique.

What makes this apartment unique

I guess I could go on and on, but I really like the urban lifestyle. You can walk anywhere from the Irvington Neighborhood. The gardens and yards are just unbelievable. There are tons of great restaurants and coffee shops everywhere you turn. Portland is such a great destination in every way, and I think Irvington neighborhood is the crown jewel of it all.

I have put tons of money and my heart and soul into this property, and I think and hope it shows. I hope you enjoy this house as much as I do.

Perfect place!

This is a wonderful rental in a wonderful neighborhood. We know Portland very well and come regularly to visit family. This is our favorite rental so far. We were in the basement apartment. Did not feel underground or dark at all. Spacious, very clean, beautifully decorated. Easy check-in and very complete instructions were provided. We own a vacation rental in La Jolla, so we notice all the details that guests need. This place has everything.

The home looks as though it has been very recently remodeled. Everything is in perfect condition. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance in all directions, but it is in a quiet, completely residential neighborhood. We didn't need anything at all, but it's nice that the caretaker lives in the property just in case. Be sure to read all your check-in instructions. I didn't read closely enough and missed the part about Saturday morning pastries being provided in the foyer! We won't miss that next time. We'll definitely return.

A Sweet Oasis in the SE

Our stay at the Garden Apartment was perfect in every way. The apartment is beautifully appointed, comfortable, quiet, and so conveniently located for walks in the beautiful Irvington area. It is also located near many great shopping and dining areas within a comfortable walking distance or if one prefers to eat in; there is a Whole Foods in one direction and a Safeway in the opposite direction. Ample on street parking is a definite plus for this Portland gem.

Convenient to Our Family and All Portland Has To Offer

Since we love walking around Portland, the garden apartment was very convenient to Safeway and the shops on Broadway in one direction, Whole Foods, Papa Murphy's (and Re-Run Consignment) in the other direction. It is also walking distance to the Mississippi District and the Alberta Arts District. The apartment was well appointed with all utensils one might need for cooking in, and newer refrigerator and stove. The bed was comfortable and the room a nice size. Bathroom area was very clean, with great water pressure and ample towels for our one week stay. Thank you for having a good selection of cable channels for my husband to watch sporting events during our down time. Being a basement apartment, the temperature, for us, was a comfortable constant, and we never had to use the baseboard heating. There was also ample lighting. Thank you for providing this great home away from home!
