This spacious, family-friendly property is a charming 2bd/1ba in the quiet Cherry Park neighborhood.

This home is walking distance from Adventist Health Center, convenient public transportation, and a ten-acre, off-leash dog park. It is also just an 8-minute drive away from charming downtown Montavilla, which boasts restaurants, coffee shops, and thrift stores to explore.

The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a closet with storage space. The secondary bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin mattress above and full mattress below, as well as a desk for remote working. The home is equipped with high speed internet for all of your teleworking needs.

The dining room seats six people. The kitchen has expansive counter space for cooking and is equipped with a dishwasher, full-size fridge and freezer, microwave, stove, oven, and charming breakfast nook. Cooking utensils, coffee maker, and dishes are all provided.

The hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and cozy fireplace create a warm and welcoming feel. Large picture windows open up to an un-fenced front yard for your use.

The rental unit is fully private and has its own private entrance. The homeowner lives on-site in a separate part of the house, but does not share any spaces or entrances with guests. The owner of the home has two dogs that make exclusive use of the fenced backyard. The owner's dogs will not have access to guests' pets at any time, although they may hear each other. Guests have exclusive use of the un-fenced front yard.

Even though we didn't get to stay long, we thought the property was perfect for what we were looking for. Due to a family emergency, we had to leave early. The host went above and beyond to make sure we were all ok and treated us with compassion. I would definitely book with her in the future.

Overall a nice house in a good location. The host was accommodating and responsive to messages. The listing didn’t say, that I could find, that host lived in the adjoining space. It was fine, but we were unaware when we arrived. Also, their dog barked a lot in the evenings. On our last night the dog barked from 11pm until after midnight.

I don't often go out at night, and apparently he has more separation anxiety than I thought. I have taken measures to improve clarity of the listing and ensure my dogs are not left alone late at night when I have guests.

The house was very nice and comfortable. The only issue I had were the beds were very soft. But that may be because I prefer a firm mattress. Also, just so you’re aware there are dogs in the adjoining area that you can hear bark sometimes. But we were not too disturbed by it. The host was fantastic in communicating and answering our questions and getting back to us in a very timely manner.

This property is well located in Portland with easy access to the freeway and shopping. The kitchen was great! The beds were wonderful. The reason for some of the poor ratings were: (1) the exterior of the property was poorly maintained, with yard debris on the side yard, weeds in the driveway and front yard where we were supposed to be able to enjoy the out of doors. (2) The toilet was very low, similar to what you would find in an elementary school bathroom. I had to purchase a riser to use it. (3) The hardwood floors in the bedrooms were stained and the closet doors in the large bedroom kept falling off. The transition from the bedroom floor to the closet door was not repaired properly, but a 2x4 was used. When I asked for additional hand towels and wash cloths I received hand towels and bath towels, no wash cloths, which were left on the concrete steps by the front entrance. This property has so much potential, I hope the host will address these things before future guests stay there.

The hosts greeted us when we arrived and were very nice, which made the stay’s shortcomings all the more disappointing. At 528 for two nights, including a 120 cleaning fee, we expected a place that felt more comfortable and cared for. Instead, it smelled stale and had a generally dingy feel. There was a used cat tower and my cat allergies bothered me enough that I needed Zyrtec to be comfortable.The small things added up. There was no shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, or even instant coffee. When I asked about toiletries, the host said they don’t provide them and suggested looking for anything previous guests might have left behind. Of course, those extras aren’t required, but they’re an inexpensive way to make guests feel welcome. We’ve stayed in many vacation rentals at a similar price and felt genuinely touched by simple gestures like a few tea bags, Nescafé, or basic shampoo. It’s the sense that someone thought about your arrival that stays with you.The TV was tiny, and the beds were so soft that we found them uncomfortable. Dogs barking in the adjoining space set our dog barking, too. Outside, pine cones and leaves covered the driveway, making it tricky to walk across without slipping or tripping.Other guests have mentioned the soft beds, barking, and driveway upkeep, so it was surprising to encounter those same issues during our stay. Some guests love the soft beds, and others prefer something firmer. We can't please everyone, and because quality mattresses are expensive to replace while they're still in good condition, we've chosen to keep them for now. We do appreciate hearing your perspective. We don't stock toiletries or coffee, and these items are not included in the listing description so that guests know what to bring. As out of staters, we didn’t realize pet friendly included a litter box and cat climbing toy in the living room. We were disappointed that the outside space wasn’t easily accessible or usable. The AC unit wasn’t installed. The location was convenient and the host was very pleasant.

The host is connected to your space by a looked door. Didn't know it would be like a duplex. Poor dogs barked and howled day and night. Dirty clothes in bedroom. Food in the fridge.

While I wish I could be at home with my dogs all day, unfortunately I am one person working full-time and do not have that privilege. However, my dogs are well-fed and walked daily, and I ensure they do not bark excessively when I am home from work (after 6pm nightly.) Thanks again for staying.
