Located just a short stroll from St. Simons' finest beach, visitors enter through a gated arbor savoring the beauty of a formal garden with sculptured topiary. Impressive wrap-around verandas grace the exterior on all three levels. Once inside, you'll be astonished by the whitewashed pine floors, bead board wainscoting, and other custom architectural features. Fixtures and finishes are first rate for a perfect blend of old and new. A private elevator allows easy transit for luggage, groceries, or anyone with wobbly knees!
FIRST FLOOR: The first floor features a lovely king guest suite with direct access to the lower level balcony, and a versatile bunk room with an additional queen bed. Both have en suite baths and flat screen TV's. You'll also find a well equipped laundry room with drop-down ironing board.
SECOND FLOOR: The second floor is where you'll gather for most family activities with its gourmet kitchen, comfortable living and two dining areas. The great room has comfortable seating near the gas log fireplace and 65" flat screen TV. Convenient powder room, too. There are two dining areas and a breakfast bar for seating flexibility. Plus easy access to the breezy wrap around balcony.
THIRD FLOOR: The third floor is devoted to a luxurious master suite with king bed, walk in closet, 55" flat screen TV, sitting area, plus en suite bath with claw-foot tub and separate shower. Just outside the master bedroom you'll find a twin day bed and trundle for extra sleeping space. All opening to a spectacular veranda overlooking the Coast Cottages neighborhood with a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean!
Guests enjoy full privileges at two sparkling clean pools and a shady pavilion managed by the Coast Cottages neighborhood association, with a ramped boardwalk to the area's widest stretch of beach. You'll have plenty of sand at high tide, low tide, any tide! (Note: many vacation homes on St. Simons cannot make this claim).

stunning home surpassed our expectations
We shared this home over the holidays while vacationing with friends. We had a few questions shortly after checking in and Patrick was quick to respond. Initially I was concerned that the property would be too small for both of our families to share, but I was wrong. With bedrooms thoughtfully placed on the first and third floors, we could gather on the second floor for meals and time together while also having the space and privacy that we needed. The high ceilings and expansive windows made the home feel even larger. The wraparound deck extended our living space and offered more areas to retreat.
The kitchen was stocked with plenty of place settings and supplies. We were pleasantly surprised with books, games, and puzzles (for kids and adults) that kept us busy while indoors. The towels and linens were high quality and we had more than enough for all. We found the mattresses to be extremely comfortable. Though we didn't expect to use it, the elevator came in handy when transporting luggage.
We loved everything about this home along with its proximity to the beach and pool area and would highly recommend it to friends and family. While we ate most of our meals at home, we especially enjoyed our dinner at Crabdaddy's.
St. Simons Island is sometimes described as a little piece of paradise. Scarcely known outside Georgia, it is quite possibly the best kept secret along the coastal Southeast. The island's majestic entrance over miles of unspoiled marshland was memorialized by Sidney Lanier in his poem The Marshes of Glynn. It's a place where an unpretentious low country meets the great ocean ... where huge tidal changes breathe life into the grassy expanse flourishing in wildlife. Somewhere in between you will discover the magic of St. Simons Island. Upon arrival, visitors are enveloped by a feeling of calm amidst ancient moss-draped oaks standing alongside glorious palms and tall southern pines. Many miles of bike paths connect a variety of shopping, eating, cultural and recreational areas within the island. There's always something fun and interesting to do. The beach at St. Simons Island is like no other. As the 7-foot tide shifts from high to low, it pulls the shoreline 1/2 mile out to sea uncovering a breathtaking system sandbars and shoals. Development is largely unseen along the north end of the beach where an abundant shrub forest has been protected and allowed to expand naturally. Acres of young dune fields nurture sensitive Sea Oats while thousands of shore birds migrate from one sand bar to the next with the receding tide. The owners and guests of Savannah Cottage cherish their unfettered enjoyment of this ecological wonderland. Things to do on St. Simons Island: Kayak through the marsh streams, walk the beach, eat at many great restaurants, climb the lighthouse, golf, tennis, miniature golf, small skate board park, go shopping at many quaint shops, go antique hunting, tour Fort Frederica, tour the Old Coast Guard Station (very near Savannah Cottage), walk the sandbars at low tide, go skim boarding along the shoreline, take a trolley tour of the island, hang out at the Coast Cottages pool, go to a water park on Jekyll Island, take paddle board lessons, go crabbing or fishing right off the pier.
