Our fully restored duplex gives an authentic New Orleans experience for your trip. Professional renovations combine the new and the old, from the top of the line kitchen and a king size memory foam mattress to the restored original fireplace and reclaimed exterior panels moved inside.
The fully stocked kitchen features all new appliances including side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, gas range, microwave, and dish washer. A simply stocked wine rack is provided. The LazyBoy sofa in the living room converts to a full size inner spring mattress that sleeps like a standard mattress. Plenty of extra towels, pillows, and linens are stocked in the extra large closet.
Our neighborhood is at the edge of the revitalized St. Claude Ave. corridor which offers dining, cutting edge art galleries and theater venues a short stroll away. The property is just 9 blocks from the Frenchmen Street music venues, artist markets and restaurants. Walk 2 more blocks and you're at the French Market on the edge of the French Quarter. There you can shop, listen to live music and eat everything from raw oysters to vegan crepes. Be sure to check the French Market website to schedule a free walking tour. Further down the street is Jackson Square, home of Café Du Monde and St. Louis Cathedral. From the apartment, access to the new St. Claude/Rampart street car line is a 2 minute walk that will drop you off at the French Quarter, Superdome and Smoothie King Center or connect you to the Garden District and City Park lines, giving you easy access most tourist destinations in the city. Walking not your thing? Uber is readily available at this location. Parking throughout the French Quarter area is generally sparse, so leave your vehicle at the property and use other means of transportation during your stay. New Orleans has recently launched a Blue Bike rental program with 4 hubs located blocks from the property. There are also hubs on the street car line and along Frenchmen Street. Either way you chose to travel, you're within a mile from the heart of the French Quarter.
There is a Walgreen's Drug Store down the block and a new Robert' grocery store across St. Claude Street. Both are within walking distance.
Wifi is included with your stay, and our flat screen TV has a Chromecast for easy access to your own Netflix and AmazonPrime library. A HD antenna is also included for local channels.
Like most homes in the Marigny neighborhood, parking is on the street. There are usually spots available on the same block as the house or on the 1100 block where I live. There are no parking meters or neighborhood restrictions for how long you can leave your car. As long as your car is locked and personal items are not left inside it's usually safe.
Your host can have a major impact on your stay. I am a local, I love this town and this culture. In fact, I live down the street and have been in the neighborhood for 17 years. I would love to give you advice on local draws and places off the beaten path that will give you the most memorable experience possible.
