Our fully restored duplex gives an authentic New Orleans experience for your trip. Professional renovations combine the new and the old, from the top of the line kitchen and a king size memory foam mattress to the restored original fireplace and reclaimed exterior panels moved inside.
The fully stocked kitchen features all new appliances including side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, gas range, microwave, and dish washer. A simply stocked wine rack is provided. The LazyBoy sofa in the living room converts to a full size inner spring mattress that sleeps like a standard mattress. Plenty of extra towels, pillows, and linens are stocked in the extra large closet.
Our neighborhood is at the edge of the revitalized St. Claude Ave. corridor which offers dining, cutting edge art galleries and theater venues a short stroll away. The property is just 9 blocks from the Frenchmen Street music venues, artist markets and restaurants. Walk 2 more blocks and you're at the French Market on the edge of the French Quarter. There you can shop, listen to live music and eat everything from raw oysters to vegan crepes. Be sure to check the French Market website to schedule a free walking tour. Further down the street is Jackson Square, home of Café Du Monde and St. Louis Cathedral. From the apartment, access to the new St. Claude/Rampart street car line is a 2 minute walk that will drop you off at the Superdome and Smoothie King Center or connect you to the Garden District and City Park lines, giving you easy access most tourist destinations in the city. Walking not your thing? Uber is readily available at this location. Parking throughout the French Quarter area is generally sparse, so leave your vehicle at the property and use other means of transportation during your stay. New Orleans has recently launched a Blue Bike rental program. There are hubs on the street car line and along Frenchmen Street. Either way, you're within a mile from the heart of the French Quarter.
There is a Walgreen's Drug Store down the block and a new Robert' grocery store across St. Claude Street. Both are within walking distance.
Wifi is included with your stay, and our flat screen TV has a Chromecast for easy access to your own Netflix and AmazonPrime library. A HD antenna is also included for local channels.
Like most homes in the Marigny neighborhood, parking is on the street. There are usually spots available on the same block as the house or on the 1100 block where I live. There are no parking meters or neighborhood restrictions for how long you can leave your car. As long as your car is locked and personal items are not left inside it's usually safe.
Your host can have a major impact on your stay. I am a local, I love this town and this culture. In fact, I live down the street and have been in the neighborhood for 17 years. I would love to give you advice on local draws and places off the beaten path that will give you the most memorable experience possible.

Best place to be in New Orleans
We loved this place, offered us easy walking access to French quarter, and anywhere else we wanted to go. Less than 2 blocks to the trolley. Walgreens, and supermarket 2 to 3 blocks away. Everything you need in the house! Julia is a great host, kept in touch and helped with anything we needed. Quiet safe neighborhood, walked home many nights no problems. If you get tired and want a quick quiet dinner at the house, we found Genes Po boy to have great fried chicken wings (not hot), and red beans and rice very good. They were actually out one night at 6:30 pm, that tells me the locals love the place. Happy to plan another visit ❤
This place was the perfect location to everything. The streetcar was just down the street and a few minutes walk down Frenchmen St. will take you to all the fun you can get in the neighborhood. Or you can do what we did and ride bikes everywhere, which turned out to be super convenient. We walked down Frenchmen every night we were there and didn’t feel unsafe at all. The place was super tidy and clean, felt like we were at home. The only thing that bummed us out a bit was that we had to make a trip to the laundromat but even with that we’d definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!!!
Thank you for the lovely review. I will be looking into a washer/dryer soon. I do hope you ate at Melba's while doing laundry!
Beautifully renovated character home close to sights
Everything about our stay was great! The house has been recently renovated, is very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels and sheets. Julia was very responsive and flexible in accommodating our travel plans. The location is extremely convenient, just a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter.
Looking forward to returning soon!
Clean, great location and fully equipped.
Arrived early, our landlord was very accommodating. Great space, comfortable with everything needed, King’s cake welcome gift a very nice touch. Grocery store blocks away, Walgreens as well. Twenty minute walk to the French Quarter or $10 Uber ride. The bedroom could use a bit of soundproofing but let’s just say it created a lasting funny memory. Enjoyed our trip, this place had a lot to do with it. Will definitely be back.
Great location and helpful owner!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The place was clean, comfortable, beautifully renovated, and close to everything. We had no trouble finding parking (car rental was cheaper than airport shuttle), but chose to use Uber. The owner stocked it full of everything we could have needed: Comfy bedding, fluffy towels, toilet paper, robes, luggage racks, snacks, beer, wine, and even a birthday cake! The attention to detail was amazing and so thoughtful. My parents slept on the huge bed in the bedroom, which they loved, and my boyfriend and I slept on the sofa bed. We put the mattress on the floor and it was fine. The wall shared with the neighbor is thin, but they were respectful and we were not disturbed. The owner went out of her way recommending activities and restaurants and answering my many questions. We appreciated her input as a local. We had a wonderful trip and will definitely return!
Great place to stay!
Loved the place! Great location as well!
We are in a great location for everything NOLA. Park your car and ride the street car to City Park, the Zoo, Downtown New Orleans. We are a short 12 block walk to the Frenchmen Street entertainment district which is at the edge of the French Quarter.
