Beautiful home, as pictured. Remote and private with great wildlife watching- we were able to watch the whales from the balcony which was incredibly special. Tom is a great host, and very easy to communicate with.

The breathtaking views from Villa Sea Forever are magnificent. There’s no reason to leave the property — the exclusive area and private setting, the jungle surroundings and wildlife all around, as well as the luxurious amenities and gracious host. With all that said though, the home is well located for exploring an area of Costa Rica that has yet to be overrun by tourists and maintains its authentic feeling and access to nature. We had a wonderful stay. It was perfect. Thank you.

We are so happy you were able to experience the luxurious ,privacy and lush jungle surroundings Villa Sea Forever has to offer. We hope to see you again.
Tom was incredibly welcoming and very attentive to our needs and requests. The house, the pool, and everything else were top-notch. Clean and well-appointed. The drive up to the property is what it is... It's Costa Rica! The views and the property are every bit worth it!
Nothing can beat the views from this property. There was so much wildlife around, we saw toucans, howler monkeys, and frogs just to name a few. Thomas was super helpful and responsive when we had any questions about the property. We can't wait to return!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The wildlife surrounding our villa is truly one of a kind. We look forward to seeing you again.
Six of us (3 couples) spent 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house has plenty of outdoor space, including the kitchen, 2 levels of decks, plus the infinity pool, all overlooking the Pacific in the distance. The surrounding forest provides plenty of privacy, and connection with nature. The upper bedroom suite is very spacious and had everything we could ask for. Most nights, we just opened up the sliding glass doors to enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and were quite comfortable with the A/C turned off.We did have a few issues - a couple power outages, no water supply & a failed water pump during our stay. Having spent time in Costa Rica a few other times, we know that power outages are not uncommon. The water being cut off to the area was something new, but Thomas kept us up to date on the efforts to restore the water supply to the community. When the water pump at the property failed, he was responsive and had it replaced quickly. His communication was greatly appreciated and made it easier to enjoy ourselves each day, knowing that any issues were being taken care of for us. A couple of suggestions would be: - include instructions in the welcome package about how to deal with the entrance gate during a power outage. - improve the wifi coverage to include the pool area.We would definitely recommend this property to others and given the opportunity, would gladly stay here again.

We are so glad you could experience the beauty of the lush jungle and views of the Pacific Ocean. It was a pleasure to meet you and we hope to see you again.
Our stay at Villa Sea Forever was pretty incredible. As stated in other reviews, arriving for the first time in daylight is best. The first drive up is quite a ride, especially if you're not used to Costa Rican backroad driving. Slow and steady with the 4 wheel drive and you'll be fine. After driving up and down a time or two, it gets not only easier, but fun.The experience of being at this property was like falling into nature. With everyday life being so overstimulating and busy, being here first felt a bit discomfiting. But waking up to the sunrise over the Pacific and the abundant sounds of nature, you can't help but melt into it all. It's just so relaxing and tranquil on that ridge. We had multiple days with later scheduled activities, which worked out perfectly as we were then able to take advantage of the mornings there, which were the best part of the day. The sun rises around 5:15ish and the following couple hours have the best nature viewing/listening. The paragliding and ziplining suggestions from Thomas were awesome and so much fun. Thomas was also great with communications during our stay. The washer was on the fritz while we were there and he was very responsive. A general note -we found a huge improvement in nighttime bugs when we did NOT use the LED lights over the stove in the kitchen or the pool lights. If you are comfortable with nature and a little adventure, I highly recommend this property. I'm glad I found it and was able to experience it!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Our stay started beautifully, but several issues at the end prompted this review.Location Accuracy: The property is advertised as 15 minutes from the beach, but it's actually 30 minutes. The access road alone takes 20-25 minutes to navigate.Maintenance Issues: The refrigerator leaked significantly multiple times. Despite the host's later claim, he never offered a repairman—we found and fixed the water line leak ourselves.Power Outages: We experienced 3 consecutive days of outages. The 2nd time, we located the breaker outside the gate ourselves (no instructions provided in the welcome book). The remote location meant no cell service during outages, making communication impossible. The 3rd outage was critical. It occurred on our final day while half our group was at the beach. Our vehicle was trapped outside the locked gate. We couldn't shower, flush toilets, or see while packing. We hauled luggage and trash up the steep driveway upon departure. We found no manual gate override instructions or keys, despite visible keyholes. Had we not gone to town earlier, we'd have been locked in and missed our flights. When we raised these legitimate safety concerns, Thomas became defensive and accused us of blackmail. For the premium price paid, we expected professional service and acknowledgment of valid safety issues—not hostility. The property itself is gorgeous with amazing wildlife, but the host's unprofessionalism when addressing fair concerns greatly soured the experience.

We have over 50 plus 5 STAR Reviews. Our reviews speak louder then one person who can not understand that the power does go out from time to time. We recognize it is an inconvenience but out of our control.
The beach drive is listed as ~15 minutes under normal conditions by VRBO. Depending on your vehicle, weather, or driving style the time may be longer.
The refrigerator leak was unfortunate. Remote assistance was offered. You chose to repair it yourselves—thank you for handling it, but it was not ignored.
The power outages affected the entire community and region—not just this property.
The gate has a manual key override in the gate house. Claiming you would have been “locked in and missed flights” is inaccurate—there is always a way to exit.
The property is remote, beautiful, and wildlife-rich, but it is exactly as described: not a resort with city-level infrastructure.
I take guest feedback seriously unfortunately power outages can occur here and also at your home. These are out of our control.
As all of the other reviews say it’s a great place with a incredible view. The drive up is crazy the first time but I got used to it about the third time up.

Thanks for another 5-Star Review and a reminder to future renters to get a good 4x4! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
The listing pictures of this home are beautiful, and it somehow is even more beautiful in person. The views of the ocean and the rain forest are magical. The whole home is designed to engage you with nature, yet is still quite comfortable. Unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience.
Amazing, one of the best house rentals I have ever stayed at. One thing to note, don’t drive to the house in the dark for the first time. A 4x4 car is REQUIRED.

My husband and I were able to stay 3 nights at this beautiful place! It’s everything you could possible imagine and more! The view is even better than it shows in pictures, truly breathtaking! We were lucky enough to see a storm rolling in over the ocean one evening, we were in awe! If you’re anywhere near the area of Uvita, you’ll definitely want to stay here. We hope to be back one day!

Spectacular Ocean View
We loved this beautiful Suite high on the mountain with a stunning view of the Pacific. We particularly loved morning coffee on the amazing terrace to watch the birds and listen to the howler monkeys. We loved wine in the late afternoon to watch the sunset and enjoy the view of the Whale's Tail. The drive up the mountain to this Suite is challenging - 4X4 required but we recommend at Rav4 or better to handle the road. Thank you Doug and Hayley for a fabulous experience.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are grateful to share this piece of paradise with such great people. And also thanks for mentioning the 4X4, some of the most beautiful places on this planet are a challenge.
We want to be sure future guests are aware of the adventure of the drive up the hill.
Not for the faint of heart!
This house is truly incredible. The first morning I woke up to the sweeping view and sounds of the jungle I couldn’t stop smiling.
Pay attention to the requirement for a 4 wheel drive car. The drive into the neighborhood is no joke. If my husband didn’t have off road experience I would not have done it.
The room set up worked great for us (2 adults, kids 16, 14 & 8) but if I had younger kids the separate rooms would have felt too far from the primary suite.
We spent hours in the pool, watching the jungle wildlife and enjoying the relaxing vibe. Tom, the owner, was incredibly helpful and communicative.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciate you taking such great care of our home. We hope to see you again.
Paradise. Tranquility. Jungle house with endless ocean views. The only drawback was that it took 25 minutes of heroine 4X4 driving on an incredibly steep road to get to the house from the main road. That ruled out a quick morning surf or walk on the beach and back to the house. You drive down and up once per day. You need a 4x4 vehicle with good power and good clearance and do NOT arrive at night. It took us +4 hrs of drive time between house and San Jose airport so plan accordingly.
The mornings and evenings by the infinity pool were magic. We saw many animals in the jungle around us.

Glad to hear you had a great time. As you told us the 4x4 you rented was inadequately powered this was the reason for your long travel times. The steep hills and winding roads are all part
Of the beauty of Costa Rica. This is why we suggest renting a good 4x4. Thank you again for staying with us.
The experience we had last week was, in a word, perfect. The pictures of Villa Sea Forever are accurate but do not do the view and the experience justice. We felt like we were at the edge of the world with our own view of paradise. The Villa itself is incredible, very thoughtfully designed to bring the view in and extremely well stocked for a relaxing experience. We loved leaving the screens open at night, taking a dip in the morning and enjoying our coffee with the sunrise and the views. And the location is perfect for hiking, surfing, diving, ATVs, any number of tours, the beach, waterfalls, too much to list.
The Owner was extremely attentive and very helpful. The Welcome letter was very detailed and easy to understand, finding the Villa was easy with Waze and questions were answered very quickly and he gave many recommendations on actives, dining, etc. It is clear they love the place and it shows with the attention to detail and their willingness to ensure guests have a great experience.
Anyone looking for an amazing Costa Rican experience, look no further. We can't thank them enough for a great week.

It was a pleasure getting to know you. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and are welcomed back anytime. Thank you for taking such great care of our home.
My wife and I just returned from Villa Sea Forever, and I can tell you that we absolutely loved it. We visit Costa Rica every year and the serenity and privacy of this property is incredible. I can tell you to take Thomas’ advice and arrive before nightfall your first day. Unfortunately, we did not take that advice and arrived after dark, and the drive up the mountain is a little daunting to say the least.but once you find the property it’s not very difficult the rest of the week.since we arrived in the dark we woke the next morning in complete awe of the stunning view from our master suite. It is even more spectacular than the pictures.we felt as though we were the only ones on the mountain with jungle surrounding us and a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the whales tail. The master suite itself is incredible, very spacious with huge terrace to just sit and listen to all the birds and jungle critters.. you will never want to leave. The pool is very large with spectacular views as well. The design of the house is very unique with its outdoor kitchen, and although we did not cook very much , everything you need is there for you.( keep in mind that there is no oven, just a stovetop and microwave.we opted to eat out most days, and I would highly recommend Scala restaurant and cafe which is about halfway down the mountain.its a little pricey but very good.. All in all a wonderful experience and many thanks to Thomas for allowing us to share this piece of heaven Pura Vida

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I agree when you wake up it is amazing to open your eyes and see the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and the jungle. Very special. We hope to see you again. There is an oven in the kitchen.
The microwave is a speed oven which allows you to have microwave and oven capabilities. Thanks again for taking such great care of our home. You are always welcome!! Pura Vida
While the pictures just don't do the view justice, the property is as described in the description. My wife and I stayed at the property for a week and enjoyed the seclusion and privacy of this property and experience of being emerged in the jungle that surrounds it. It truly allowed us the opportunity to relax and unwind. Many other reviews have commented on the drive to the property. With even a little experience driving on dirt roads, this was not as daunting as it has been described. A 4WD vehicle is needed, but the drive is what allows the property to be as remote as it is and the view to be outstanding. We would leave each day to do something (whale watching tour / ATV etc), come back for a relaxing afternoon by the pool and then go back to town to watch the sunset and have dinner. The drive takes around 15-20 min from the main road, but was well worth it! The wildlife around the property was abundant. We saw toucans, monkey, tons of butterflies, coati and many other bird species we had never seen before everyday while relaxing by the pool. You do need to be conscious of food and trash around the kitchen as some of that wildlife is very curious. We did have a few instances in which the electric went out, but came back relatively quickly and wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The house integrates the outdoors well. We were surprised at the lack of bugs (except for abundant cicadas).Overall - loved staying at the property and will be back again soon!

We are so happy that you and your wife enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure speaking with you and we hope to see you again.
We were a little worried about the weather as we visited during rainy season: never listen to the weather forecast!! It was beautiful every morning and rained late afternoon.
The villa is even better than presented. Lots of stuff already supplied by previous visitor (coffee, sugar, vodka (!!). It’s well supplied to cook for two!
We could see monkeys and toucans from our patio. We saw a lot of coatis each day almost.
The villa is well ventilated at night so you sleep well. Morning comes early with the birds!
The ride up to the villa is a little nerve wrecking the first time. Afterwards you get used to it the very next day. Be sure to specify automatic transmissions! I got a shift stick and it was a thrill but you need to be proficient. Do not go up that road on a shift stick if you are nervous of inexperienced!
I recommend the jolly roger bar going up! Beautiful view and Absolutely amazong wings / cocktails.
Tom gave us great info and useful tips.
Beautiful trip, beautiful view, charming villa!!!
Loved this place, the master bath floor has a giant king bed with a morning view of the ocean that is unmatched.
Two additional bedrooms on the lower floor that the kids stayed in without great views and a little darker which the kids liked so they could sleep in after a long day of travel the day before.
On the way in Googlemaps had us turn off the highway one dirt road earlier than necessary which doubled our dirt road travel to the subdivision. The guards were ready for us and promptly let us in. Another 10 minute ride within the subdivision and we were at the lot private gate. Four wheel drive is definitely necessary.
We headed out the next day and hiked the Whales Tail which was nice. Not much wildlife and lots of people, you generally park in town and directly enter the beach area with limited walk distance through the forest.
Found a fruit stand on the main road very close to the dirt road that leads back to the property (Closest Dirt Road has a sigh for the Jolly Roger bar and restaurant, unfortunately didn't test it out, looked like it has some hot wings, cold beer and great views) There was another soda for breakfast on the same dirt road for consideration.
The second night we took up the owner Thomas's suggestion and had Lupita a private chef cook us dinner onsite. She did a great job on shrimp tacos, a mix of chicken and fresh snapper, and a dairy free ice cream and fruit. We had a friend from the US join us for a few Imperials and dinner

It truly was a "dream" suite
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Dream Suite.
- The view is amazing.
- The drive to the cabin was a novel adventure. The first time up the mountain was slightly intimidating but we soon got used to it over our six day stay and after a few times up and down the mountain, it was no big deal at all. A four wheel drive is required but it was no problem to rent one (we used Adobe). I would strongly suggest your first time arriving at the property be during the daylight hours to save yourself unnecessary stress during your vacation (the property owner strongly encourages this a well). But please don’t let the mountain drive discourage you from considering this property. The drive is super cool and our experience of such is one of our most memorable during our stay in Costa Rica.
- The structure itself was so unique. I loved the wrap around deck and the shower with a view!
- It’s extremely private, peaceful, and romantic.
- Great outdoor cooking cart.
- The glass front of the cabin provided a safe place for endless wildlife entertainment after dark. We got to see some really cool bugs that landed on the glass and on the deck. We had several visits from coatis that came to eat the cicadas on the deck.
- We saw a troop of white face monkeys pass by one morning and enjoyed several visits from toucans as we sat on the deck enjoying the view.
- There is no air conditioning but we didn’t feel a/c was necessary. By opening windows and using the ceiling fans to cool the suite down, we were able to sleep quite comfortably.
- The Jolly Roger (you pass by it during the drive up the mountain) is a great place to gather and make new friends in the area.
- During our stay, we enjoyed several restaurants and tours in the area. We did a fantastic ATV tour and a couple of great stand up paddle board tours.
- The location is part way between Uvita and Dominical which is handy for enjoying both areas during your stay at the suite.

You two have been the PERFECT GUESTS.
We are so happy that you enjoyed your experience and our modest suite.
Thanks for the comprehensive review, let it inform future guests to the joys of elevation in the jungle!
Serenity...Tranquillity...these words are understatements. The wildlife experience is amazing. The picture of the Coati that you see in the listing...you will most likely see him during your visit...cute little fella (don’t feed any wildlife by the way). I saw a variety of birds, including two very pretty Tucans. You almost have no need to do sight seeing tours. The bed was comfortable, the water temperature was perfect and so was the water pressure (some rentals don’t have hot water...this place does). It took some getting used to the complete silence and darkness (being from the city) - but by the thirds day I felt right at home. There are very kind as friendly security guards that monitor the gate and lock it at a certain point at night so you feel very safe (there’s only one guard at a time...I don’t want to give the impression that this is a scary environments). As a matter of fact I felt safer in CR than I’ve ever felt in the States....ever! I never locked the door....coming or going and felt completely at ease. There was a washer and dryer, cleaning supplies, soap, oh and even beach towels - which I thought was a nice touch. DO NOT ARRIVE AT NIGHT. I’m a very experienced driver when it comes to the mountains and I promise you WILL regret arriving at night - Once you’ve been up and down once or twice, however, you’ll be fine. It’s literally takes 15 minutes to get down the mountain so be sure to keep that in mind if you have plans to catch the sunset, get a massage or anything else requiring a time commitment. A 4x4 is a must. Don’t even consider not getting on. Period. John, the property manager stopped by to say hello and make sure all was well. I had to call him on my first night because I arrived at night and got lost - he answered the phone each time I called and got me to safety. Let me reiterate....DO NOT arrive at night- you’ll think that your being setup for a murder...or that the road is going to drop off into the mountains.
Lastly, I highly encourage you to visit Jolly Roger and Scala. JR is a good time, family oriented, kick you sábeles off and chill/dance kinda place. Scala is a bit more upscale and quiet atmosphere. Both are worth visiting. Well...I could go on but you’ll just have to experience the Pira Vida life so yourself. Oh...there’s no TV amd quite honestly, you won’t miss it nor will you need it. It allows you to completely disconnect and reset. Doug the owner kept in touch and made sure the trip was a pleasant ex
