This is my second stay at the Chalet. The home was fantastic!

We have stayed twice at the Chalet. What an incredible place to stay. Our family had a great time exploring the area and it was awesome each night to return to a comfortable base camp. Strongly recommend anyone looking for a place to get away to consider staying here. All the creature comforts you need and plenty of room for the entire family.

Relaxing views and all we needed

The house is great, on one level, with plenty of beds for anyone we could have wanted to stay with us. The views out the living room and from the deck are incredible. You can see the Chili Express lift, mountains and beautiful valleys. Grilling in the wind was a challenge, but the kitchen is pretty well stocked with new appliances for indoor cooking. Private master suite also.

We stayed at Ericka’s home for a week as a basecamp for our motorcycle trip. I can’t think of a single thing that could have been better. The home is very comfortable, well decorated, stocked, and beautiful. The pictures are exactly what you experience. There were dozens of hummingbirds, plenty of deer, and lots of quite. We have rented many homes on VRBO and this is one of our favorites. Highly recommend you staying here with your family.

Finding the property was pretty easy and the key location and getting into the property was pretty easy. If i were to recommend anything it would be to install ceiling fans in all rooms, rearrange furniture so TV in more accessible, and make windows better usable with screens or new windows with smaller crank open windows for better airflow as the summer nights can be a little warm for sleeping. Overall the property met our needs.

Fantastic Experience!!

We just had another great winter escape to Angel Fire and this house was perfect for us. Myself, my wife and two daughters (ages 10 and 12). It was exactly as advertised and Erika was a fantastic and communicative host. Self check in was easy and the notes she gave us in advance laid everything out perfectly. We communicated a few times during our stay and she was extremely responsive. Fantastic view of the mountain from the house and a great wooded backyard for the kiddos to play and sled in the snow. Super easy parking even with our 2WD vehicle due to the short flat driveway that leaves you steps from the front door. We will most definitely be back here next winter for another winter snowcation.

Wonderful Home in Angel Fire!

This home offered everything we needed for our vacation. It was on a quiet street in a beautiful neighborhood. The floor plan fit our needs as we traveled with two teenage boys. The each had their own room to chill out in after riding in the bike park at Angel Fire Resort. The home was exceptionally clean and is exactly as the photos present it to be. The kitchen was fully stocked and the variety of spices was a nice plus. We loved the views off the balcony and star gazing at night was incredible. The master bedroom was extremely comfortable and positioned off the living room in a way that provided maximum privacy. The outdoor deck/patio was just perfect for wildlife viewing, reading or just relaxing. The location made for easy access to Taos and other recreational areas. The washer/dryer was also a huge plus! We happened to be in Angel Fire during a hot spell, so the only thing the house lacked was a fan in each of the bedrooms. Other than that it was a perfect house for our family. We would definitely stay here again! Erika provided all the information we needed to make our stay perfect. Her attention to detail made this home a truly lovely place to stay!!

Really underwhelming

1500 characters are not enough. Bait and switch with the basement game room and Sauna Hot tub was REALLY bad. Didnt work. Was disgusting. Filter may have not been changed for years (it was black) House really oversold itself on pictures and undelivered. I thought it was a bad touch to show a picture of the house next door in help describing where this house was ( picture of a big beautiful house saying you are right across the street) Holes in the wall, trash left in between couch and tables from previous group. Broken cabinets and fridge shelves. Look- if you want a cheap place to sleep close to ski lifts on a golf course its great. IF you are looking for upscale- this is not it. I thought the owner really did a bait and switch on the basement. We have 3 kids, we sold them on the game room and spa, then to find out its extra the day we arrive is a bit over the top ( oh its in the descriptions, well it wasnt) Why are the pictures in the original listing- list the house AS IS what you are getting. The amount of snow and unremovable ice in the front is unacceptable. More with the basement- house says it has a grill, grill is down stairs. IF you dont rent the basement you dont have a grill I guess. Im normally not "Bougie" but we left a night early to get to a clean hotel. Views are nice. Back yard is cool for kids. Fire pit nice touch. Dont get the house for the game room and spa. IT will under perform.

Amazing Spring Break

This was our first trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico. Erika was absolutely great to work with from the start. We had weather to contend with at the very beginning of our trip and at the end - snow, and lots of it. Which is great for coming to the mountains, but can be difficult for travel at times. The roads are plowed in town and throughout the neighborhood. Keep in mind that neighborhoods are plowed last though. Just take it slow. If you have a 2 wheel drive and there’s a ton of snow, you may need to drive down and around to take the other side turn in of the street to enter the house instead of the first turn in - as the incline is a bit more on the first turn onto the street. The house was spacious for our family of 8 - which includes 5 teenagers and my MIL. We used the cast iron fireplace every night. And the windows heat up the house nicely during the day. The views out the large windows were breathtaking. We loved the visiting deer each day. They were so gentle eating right from your hand. We took full advantage of the slope next to the house to sled down during the week. The snow drifts were amazing. The slope is a decent incline and you can sled pretty fast down maneuvering through the trees - if you’re so inclined, you can continue past the next street and down the 2nd hill into the golf course which had even deeper snow. This house sits on a very high point within the neighborhood and all the views are beautiful. On this trip we also went snow tubing over at Ange Fire Resort and snowmobiling up at Red River. The grocery store in town has most everything you need, for a price. We drove in so we were able to bring most everything we needed. Firewood was expensive and everyone carried the same brand, so no real price break anywhere. Due to the amount of snow on the front end of our trip, we were not able to buy wood in bulk as it was all covered in snow. There are a few companies between Angel Fire and Eagle Nest that you can purchase firewood in larger quantities of you can plan ahead. We are considering a trip back in the summer to do more hiking and biking. The area is just beautiful!! Thank you Erika for sharing your home with us and allowing us to make memories with the family!

Lots of gravel roads to property as there was a detour. No ac and it was near 90 in the main part of home for the majority of the day. Even with floor fans, it was still 89. We could not tolerate the heat so checked out two days early and headed home. Also, could not leave doors open for a breeze as the ragweed and other waist high weeds were right outside the house. Also, bugs inside house and the furniture had not been cleaned in a long while. We were just overall disappointed and will be much more cautious next time we rent.

Lots of space in a stunning setting

We chose this based on location of activities we enjoyed and the pictures of the home and views. It surpassed our expectations. The home was immaculate, the whole home had been remodeled and the views were stunning. The house had a king bed, 2 queens and two sets of bunk beds in three huge bedrooms. Both bathrooms were remodeled and large. There are many activities like golf, hiking, horse back riding, fishing and a play ground close by for the kids. It is a few miles from the New Mexico “Enchanted Circle”. You won’t go wrong whether you come with your partner or the whole family and the cousins. The kitchen is full sized with a dining area that can accommodate everyone and there’s a table outside in the deck too. Need to clean up those messy kids? A new full size washer and dryer set is available. My only regret, I didn’t stay longer!

Bucket List Holiday Vacation

We were in a Hallmark Christmas movie! Coming in from Deep South Texas and being able to see and play in snow was amazing. The Chalet had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday in a winter wonderland. We were blessed with fresh snowfall for 2 days and daily visits of deer ... absolutely beautiful and highly recommend. ♥️

A beautiful place to be socially distant!

This cabin has gorgeous views off the back wrap-around patio, and was a very comfortable place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the beautiful places to see within an hour or less, but also enjoyed just relaxing in the cabin, listening to the rain, watching the hummingbirds, and watching for the deer to come around every evening. We spent 5 nights here - a family of 4 - and it was the PERFECT place to be on vacation at a time when vacations are not very easy to accomplish. Gave our family a MUCH needed "change of scenery!" The property itself was clean and very comfortable.

Why they chose this property

While we travel quite a bit and own rental properties in other parts, New Mexico and in particular: Angel fire, holds a very special place in our hearts. We have been vacationing as a family there for a few years now and have made happy memories in this lovely town. Whether it be snowboarding in the Winter or enjoying treks up the mountain for some gorgeous views and fun Frisbee Golf in the Summer, we just can’t get enough of Angel Fire. This is why we have always dreamed about finding a piece of heaven and had been researching properties around the area for years. So when our realtor came across this house and above all, the large lot, we fell in love with all the possibilities for it.
Now, having said that, we had to think about what this commitment represented for us, since we are not rich investors but honest hard-working people who have put every dime aside to achieve this dream and will have to continue adding some more thru loans in order to afford this place. We came up with a plan in the hopes that we can manage this and have two criteria mainly: 1) A place that we can look forward to as a family whenever feasible and 2)One that is the right location or has the right specs to attract seasonal renters because we absolutely must be able to subsidize some of the cost through that eventual income. Keeping this in mind we invested and went thru some major renovation of all spaces in the hopes we would be able to create that influx. What makes this property unique

We had visited and rented several places in the past but most were quite frankly either: outdated, noisy, not private enough or inconveniently located. When we set out on our own exhaustive journey we easily saw over 50 properties that fell within the same category until we came across this house. While it also needed a complete overhaul we could not take our eyes of those gorgeous Mountain views and the privacy of such a large lot - and all this in a beautiful, safe neighborhood so close to the Ski Resort and with all the added perks and extras! The Lake, the golf course, the play scape and so much more! It quickly became clear to us that this could be so much more than we had dreamed and hoped for.
