Overview

About the property

If you want to explore ONP and home-base on the coast, this place is for you.

Welcome to Olympic-National, a family getaway nestled on the border and entrance to coastal Olympic National Park at Rialto Beach. With nothing separating you from the Park, you are immersed in peace and quiet among the massive trees of the forest. At this nearly 30 acre compound you can enjoy hundreds of feet of river front and nearly a half mile of Olympic National Park frontage. The salmon run on the Quillayute River is one of the best in the region. Guests remark that the home is perfectly located to explore Olympic National Park since it is so close to so many attractions. Sorry we have no reviews for you to see, we are new to VRBO, but you can go to that other website that starts with an A and finds us.

The vacation rental is Cape Cod style with a river rock fireplace and modern kitchen. Shaker and Craftsman styles highlight the interior and a great room opens to a large south-facing deck extending your entertaining and sunning. This is a modern home with new amenities, appliances and furniture as well as computer controlled air conditioning and heat, no keys are needed to enter the home, light dimming and sensors make your stay easy and comfortable.

Elk, deer and bald eagles make their home here. The elk leave the Park to graze in the pasture below the deck and bald eagles live at the river front where their favorite fishing hole is located.

HIKING: There are trails on the property and nearby including Rialto Beach, Hole in the Wall, Lake Ozette, First/Second/Third Beaches, James Lake and others. The confluences of the Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Quillayute and Dickey Rivers are within 2 miles. The Hoh Rain Forest, Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Hot Springs, Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Beach are all within an hour from here. Lake Ozette is just a 8.5 mile trip by raven.

FISHING: For fishing enthusiasts, the river front has one of the best salmon fishing holes in the region and is home to the best native steelhead fisheries in the contiguous United States. Halibut and ocean fishing is available at LaPush. There is plenty of parking for cars and boats on trailers and there is room to pitch tents if needed. The gravel bar along the property is an excellent stretch of fly fishing water and is a great place to fish. The Quillayute hosts chinook, coho, sockeye and at times pink salmon. Sea-run cutthroat trout are abundant. A fishing license is not required to fish in Olympic National Park; however, you need a free salmon/steelhead catch record if you are targeting these fish. The gravel bar is shared with Olympic National Park.

A big screen HD TV and cable with ShowTime and other premium channels give you access to a selection of movies and TV shows. High speed Internet and WiFi are also provided for your streaming pleasure. A computer work space provides comfortable seating along with multiple USB charging stations.

If you have any special needs or requests, please let us know in advance and we will do our best meet and exceed your expectations. If you are interested in more information go to our site at olympic-national, then add the period, then add com (VRBO doesn't allow us pass info like that to guests, not sure why).

Regards, Jim

About Jim Reeves

I love the outdoors and have always had a special attraction to rivers and fishing.

Jim Reeves purchased this estate in 2005

Why Jim Reeves chose Forks

I am lucky to have found this jewel. It is gorgeous and unforgetable! Massive trees, beautiful view, riverfront, elk, deer, bald eagles, fishing, Olympic National Park is your neighbor, I couldn't resist. At the time I purchased it I didn't realize what I had.

What makes this estate unique

Two frequent comments I hear from my guests: the home is beautiful, warm and comfortable with unforgetable views; it is a perfect home-base to explore Olympic National Park because so many points of interest are nearby. What do I think? The best fishing hole in the area is in front of my home.

Perfect Home in the Perfect Spot

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four all loved this home! It has a great floor plan and is very comfortable with large gathering areas (dinning table and family room). The kitchen is well stocked for cooking your own meals and everything is brand new!

The property is truly breathtaking. It borders the NP so you feel as if you are staying right in the Park. The fishhook tree is an amazing spot that our 20 year old son went to at the end of every day to relax and be alone in nature. The stars at night are incredible. While viewing them one night, we could hear a heard of elk in the distance and the next morning there were 24 of them grazing in the back yard. We've never experienced anything like that before! The river is beautiful and full of wildlife. We took advantage of the proximity to Rialto Beach and spend everyday in Olympic National Park. The Park has an immense variety of hikes and habitats so you can spend days and days there.

We've stayed in dozens of rental homes over the years and this is definitely one of the best! Obviously, I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to this area.

Beautiful home in an idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautifully decorated and just like the pictures show. It has everything you would ever need, and then some! The host, Jim, was very friendly and accommodating. Treat yourself and walk down to the river for some seclusion and nature. You will love this home to use as a base to explore the beaches and ONP.

Wonderful vacation retreat adjacent to Olympic National Park.

  • 5 of 5

Jim’s description of his property is accurate. My husband and our grown children could have stayed right on the property and been completely happy. We did take day trips to the beaches, Hurricane Ridge, Cresent Lake and Hoh łRain forest. We will definitely be coming back! Jim is very responsive to guest questions

made for a memoral trip

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful, solid but what really made this an incredible experience for us were the beautifully maintained grounds around the property. Sitting on the porch overlooking the meadow and indelible beauty of the region was a very lucky experience for us. I hope we can return one day. The beds were very comfortable, the home was very clean and we were able to easily correspond with the owner. Finally, the location (the sign for Olympic National Park was just in front of the home) couldn't be beat.

One of the best VRBO rentals ever!!

  • 5 of 5

Property is very private and serene. Everything in the house is brand new, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Beautiful deck with meadow view. One of our favorite features was the outdoor fire pit complete with dry wood and kindling for great campfire nights. Convenient to Rialto Beach and the western beaches of Olympic Park. Used the home as a base camp for exploring and hiking in the Hoh rainforest. Enjoyed everything about the house. Get groceries and supplies in Forks and come back to a bbq at the house after a day of exploring. We will definitely be coming back to this property.

Fantastic home in a peaceful setting!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful home for our vacation on the Olympic Peninsula. Beautiful setting, nestled in the forest 300 yards from the Sol Duc River and two miles from Rialto Beach. The house was perfect for two families (4 adults 4 kids) with many amenities and high end finishes. We particularly enjoyed the expansive deck and fire pit. The owner was responsive and accommodating and provides everything needed to enjoy this wonderful home. We would definitely stay here again and in fact plan to come back for a salmon fishing adventure in the future.
