Welcome to Tidewater Retreat,

This luxury oceanview rental home is situated off the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico between Port St. Joe, FL and Apalachicola, FL. The design of the home was based from a concept that won 2006 Best in America Living Award for a single family residence. The layout provides comfort and efficiency to our guest to ensure the most relaxing experience possible. The property is placed on one acre of northern FL coastal landscape and is located less than 400' from the beach.

The property has plenty of parking area under the home. Additionally, the side drive has more than enough room to accommodate a boat or RV if needed. The home also has a large outdoor storage area under the rear porch that can accommodate all of your beach items. Some beach items are provided for your convenience.

The first floor of the home has one Gulf-view bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath. This bedroom also has its own 32" flat screen HDTV.

The large kitchen with island and peninsula can accommodate the whole family for large breakfasts, lunch or dinners. The dining area and living room are situated off of the kitchen and open up to a large front screened in porch area. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail, watch the ocean and listen to the waves crash for as long as you like.
The 1st floor also has a large screened in porch with dining area on the rear of the home if you would prefer to listen to the birds and observe the northern Florida coastal landscape and protected state preserve. This is a perfect location to watch the sunset and have a nice dinner.
The living room area offers a large 50" Smart HDTV and all the shows you can ever image. If you can't find what you are looking for on cable or ROKU, the home has an extensive collection of DVD's to choose from.

The second floor boast the master suite along with two other bedrooms to accommodate our guest. The master suite has a king bed and its own private front porch where our guest can relax to the sounds of the ocean. The master bathroom has a luxury walk in shower with double shower heads, craftsmen contemporary tile and bench for added comfort. The master bedroom has its own 40" flat screen TV.

The twin room upstairs has two custom handmade single beds to accommodate our guest. The 24" inch flat screen smart TV in the room will allow access to all of your favorite shows.

The last bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, 32" flat screen smart TV.
There is a full bathroom located upstairs with all tile walk in shower that has a picture window to view the state preserve in the rear of the home.

Beautiful House, the surveillance cameras makes you feel very safe (unless you have a privacy concerns) specially against bears. Bad location, walking hassle to the beach without trespassing private property. There is a river that discharged into the beach couple of miles making the water sub-optimal.

Tidewater Retreat

This was our 2nd year staying at the Tidewater Retreat. It was even more wonderful than our first stay. Brooke was amazing and incredibly helpful with any of our questions. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable!! We are very particular with where we rent and Tidewater Retreat has continued to exceed our expectations. The house location is perfect. Just a short walk or even shorter golf cart ride to the beach. We love having lots of restaurant options within a 15 minute drive. We have also had wonderful experiences renting kayaks and a pontoon boat locally. The Tidewater Retreat is certainly a fantastic home to enjoy. We are booking our 3rd stay this summer!!

Pros: exceptional interior decoration and very new construction. Very few people on beach Neutral: shoddy cell reception, not near restaurants. Walk to beach is across highway but it has little traffic Cons: no curtains in kids east-facing BR, no laundry or dish soap, “smart” switch in master turned lights on in middle of the night waking us up (owner was aware of issue - my solution was to flip the circuit breaker)

We've stayed on the Cape a few times now and decided to come a little further down and check it out. Great home with plenty of room and nice extras! The firepit, screened porch, balcony, and golf cart were great! Five minute golf cart ride to the beach! Short car ride over to Apalachicola and St. George Island.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay in Port Saint Joe!! The house was gorgeous, very clean and perfect for our 10 vacation. Short walk or golf cart to the beach. Lovely place to spend your vacation

Tidewater retreat is a wonderful place to stay. The house is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The kitchen had all that we needed to make most dinners at home. The master suite is especially nice. This house is about 20-25min from Port St. Joe proper, but we were there for the beach anyway. The beach is very close and easily accessible with the golf cart you can rent from the owners. You can park the golf cart right on the beach behind your set up….super nice. We would definitely consider staying in this home again when we’re in Port St. Joe next.

Beautiful beach home!

Our family and close friends loved this beautiful beach home! The close proximity to the beach was amazing! We were there during a tropical storm and the house was well stocked with games, the WiFi was great for watching movies and the home was just beautiful and modern and clean. The owners were so responsive to any needs/questions and so kind. We had a great stay and it made our first time coming to this area so memorable!

Gorgeous home with gulf views!

The Tidewater Retreat was absolutely gorgeous. The home is nicely appointed with all of the amenities - the Tannners have thought of everything. The neighborhood - including the beach - is quiet and friendly. It was definitely a nice change of pace compared to the Panama City area where we generally stay. Port St. Joe won our hearts! And this home made it all worth while.

The house is a beautifully decorated house with a great kitchen, tons of space, great outdoor space, and easy access to the beach. With the golf cart to take coolers, chairs, etc to the beach, it made beach days much easier! The golf cart drive was less than 3 min to the beach and walk to the beach was about 5 min. The kitchen was well stocked, a couple of beach chairs were available, and Brooke was very responsive to anything we needed or questions we had. It was a great stay overall!

Tidewater Retreat Made It Difficult to Come Home!

From the booking, to the check-in and checking out, the rental process was easy peasy. Communication between the owners and us was exceptional. The property was beautiful and clean! Cleanliness is very important to me as well as previous customer reviews. We were very happy with our choice in renting Tidewater Retreat having never been to the Port St. Joe area. There were minimal hiccups during our stay which the owners were on top of post haste. The Tanners have thought of everything for their renters. If you are looking for a perfect place in beach paradise, THIS IS IT! My family and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. One thing I would change about the listing is noting that the golf cart is an extra charge--not part of the rental. Other than that, I hope they don't change a thing!

Tidewater Retreat

We had a very comfortable stay. The house is very clean, nicely appointed, and the owners provide every convenience. It is very spacious and very comfortable for a group of extended family. We loved the golf cart and several access roads to the beach. This is a quiet location but has plenty of options to keep everyone entertained. We would definitely choose to stay here again! Brooke is a wonderfully attentive host, and we appreciate having the opportunity to stay in her home.

Worth the drive from KC!

We loved this place! Such a beautiful home, private and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need to make a great meal. The beds are super comfy, and the porches have great views. Brooke was very accommodating and helpful. We had guest from the ages of 7 to 70. Everyone had a great time! We couldn’t have asked for more.
