Steep stairs add to the cabin’s unique charm but may be challenging for some guests, as well as small or senior dogs. If stairs aren’t ideal for you, consider our 2-bedroom Summit House, which is all on one level and offers breathtaking views.

The Phoenix Rising is completely self-sustaining, generating its own power, well water, and septic system. You get the best of both worlds—eco-friendly living with modern comfort.

No bathtubs or hot tubs (energy conservation choice!)
Filtered well water (contains natural iron; bring bottled water if preferred)

🚗 Getting Here
🏕️ This is a true mountain escape! The cabin is 5 miles off Highway 259, accessible via U.S. Forest Service roads. Expect stunning wildlife—white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and birds of prey frequently make appearances!

✔️ 4WD / AWD is helpful but NOT required
✔️ Recommended Vehicles:
✅ Small, medium, or large SUVs
✅ Any size truck

❌ Not Recommended:

The first 2 miles are easy (25 mph speed limit), but the last 3 miles require slower driving due to:
✔️ Small creek crossings (shallow, usually 4 inches or less)
✔️ Rocky, bumpy terrain
✔️ 12% uphill grades—you’ll climb your way to the summit!
