NEW FOR 2016! We've replaced the carpet with hardwood and tile floors throughout the house, completely remodeled our kitchen and added a 50" LED HD Smart TV and a bigger flat-screen tv in the master bedroom! New pictures posted here, and lots more on Flickr!

You'll find our well-loved family beach house casually furnished in comfortable 'Shabby-chic', 'Country-Living' cottage style. Relax and enjoy yourself - nothing is fussy or precious. Soothing colors, abundant warm sunshine, cooling breezes and life on the water close to nature are what this house is all about.

You'll also find many amenities in our home that you won't find in other vacation homes because we and our friends actually stay here as often as possible!

Our favorites include:

Family games, beach towels, sun hats, books, DVDs, cookbooks, tons of kitchen equipment to prepare and serve big meals, charcoal grill, and beach toys are all here for you to use and enjoy. Big chaise lounges to sun bathe, a shady porch swing, and a cozy chair by the fireplace for you to put your feet up for that very occasional rainy day are also part of the package.

All rooms (except the twin bedroom and the laundry room) have expansive views of Perdido Bay. Eight people can sleep comfortably on one king, one queen, two twin, and two sleeper sofas. Also two twin air mattresses for overnight guests or children.

All bedrooms have ample reading lights and ceiling fans and are comfortable places to curl up in for privacy. The master suite (king-sized bed) has its own private bath and the other two bedrooms share a bath. Both baths have tubs with showers. The master bath has a double bowl vanity.

The dining room table seats six and altogether with two loveseats, a huge coffee table and a big round folding table, we can seat fourteen or more in the open living/dining room indoors. Another eight can sit on the open bay side deck at the round wrought iron table with a big umbrella.

Good Haven House is on the shores of pristine Perdido Bay - about halfway out on Innerarity Point. Sun, swim, fish, crab, and snorkel right from the dock in your own front yard! You can also keep your boat, be it kayak, canoe, shallow draft power boat, raft, or jet ski tied up there as well.

Great outdoor spaces include a big sunny 50 foot x 10 foot deck (walk out from living room and master bedroom), 30 foot x 20 foot screen room, a shady patio area under deck on the bay side with a porch swing to while away hot afternoons, an open outdoor shower to wash off sand and salty water, and a bright balcony off the dining room.

The 60 foot private dock features stairs up to a sun deck with lounge chairs. At the end of the pier is the perfect place to renew and do your morning yoga or relax at the end of another perfect day and watch the sun drop down into Perdido Bay, one of the most spectacular sunsets on the coast! If you're lucky you can also watch the dolphins cruise by looking for their fish dinner.

Catch your own dinner right from the pier. Mullet (if you know how to throw a net), red fish, snapper, and crab are among some of the seafood we've caught out there.

A two acre yard for you to play ball, badminton, barbeque, have picnics, catch frogs, play hide and seek, and climb the old live oak with a good book. The kids can pitch a tent and have the thrill of sleeping out under the stars and being lulled to sleep by the waves lapping at the shore. There's also plenty of room for you to park your RV.

Located about 2 miles from 2 large grocery stores, a hardware store, a bait and tackle shop, 2 gas stations, and several family restaurants, and 3 miles to the beautiful beaches on Perdido Key, we're close enough to be convenient, far enough away for the peaceful serenity you come on vacation for.

Our property is a wonderful place to have your small wedding or as a venue for bridal or baby showers.

We welcome well behaved pets to come on vacation with their owners.

About Susan

We purchased our beach house with the hopes of retiring here one day. In the meantime, our family and friends visit as often as we can. We are happy to be able to share our vacation home with you. Our hope is to have you and your family stay here and enjoy it as much as we do. Relax, spend quality time with the people who mean the most to you and make great memories at Good Haven House.

Why Susan chose Pensacola

We chose the Perdido area for it's wonderful Southern sensibilities and it's proximity to the pristine, uncrowded, sugar white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. We chose Innerarity Point specifically because it's a 'local' neighborhood. No highrises or traffic here. All of our great neighbors are full time residents.

What makes this house unique

Nature is all around from the dolphins cruising by the dock to birds, small animals and frogs in the woods. Quiet, the smell of clean air, the gentle lapping of the water, a storm blowing up from the Gulf on a hot summer afternoon, and incredible sunsets over the bay.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Susan, We had a great time. We had fun visiting with our family here in Perdido Key. We were busy everyday! We went to Johnson's Beach a couple of times, rented a pontoon boat for the day, went to see the Blue Angels practice and toured the Navel Museum. We went to the Sports Bar, Hub Stacys, the JellyFish Bar, Shrimp Basket, Flora Bama Yacht Club, Vallarta Mexican Restaurant and Fisherman's Corner. The food at Hub Stacys and Fisherman's Corner was delicious! We also went to the Flora Bama at night to listen to the bands that were playing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us!

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful view of the Bay. All the things we needed to cook. Fried fish under the house one evening with beautiful breeze off Bay. Sunday Mass only 10 minutes away. Swimming in the Gulf 10 minutes away. Very pleasant and competent ownership. Hopefully we will return next fall.

Fantastic Bayside Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Good Haven House was beyond perfect. Everything was clean and well-kept, with a kitchen suited for cooking meals large and small and a bright, cozy living room for lounging. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the bay, as well as swimming and fishing right off the pier. Most mornings, we swam in the bay (which is warm, quite shallow, and I would imagine perfect for small children), and occasionally caught sight of dolphins swimming past. We spent magical nights on the pier, stargazing, watching distant lightning storms, and listening to the chorus of waves, frogs, and cicadas. The house is set back from the road (which is not at all busy), resulting in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

We stayed with another couple, and the house setup was such that we each had adequate privacy, as the two larger bedrooms and accompanying bathrooms are located on opposite ends of the living room. The location is convenient to grocery shopping (there's a Publix at the end of the road), restaurants in Perdido Key and Orange Beach, and a number of Gulfside beaches. We can't wait until our next visit!

Great home on the bay!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was just as advertised and then some. We have been vacationing in Perdido Key for more than twenty years but always on the beach. No more. We found a place that the entire family fell in love with. While the heat can be brutal in July we found that the screened in area under the house was the perfect place for the family to gather and stay cool in the afternoon. The dock was the perfect place to enjoy coffee with the sunrise and a glass of wine at sunset. We also enjoyed fishing from the dock and exploring the bay in our kayaks. We hope to return soon.

Owner's Response: Hey Kelley, thanks for the wonderful review. Will pass along the praise to our housekeeper, she works so hard and does such a amazing job of keeping Good Haven House spotlessly clean, stocked and ready for our guests. I don't know what I'd do without her! Have a great rest of your summer, Susan
