Great Rental at Dauphin Island

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this beach house while at Dauphin Island. Dennis and Kim, the owners, were excellent and easy to work with. Upon arrival the house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed.

Beach access- Such an easy walk to the beach and there are two wagons for use to help with your gear.

Quite and peaceful

Easy to find and access

Furnished nicely

Beach and water- loved it.

Away from the crowds

Friendly people

Notes: Dauphin island isn't Destin or Panama City, it's a semi remote location so be prepared to bring what you need to eat and drink with you unless you want to pay island prices for everything. There is no local Walmart or Publix (within 20 miles), so plan accordingly. Bring your bug spray, the mosquitos can be thick. This was a great stay for our Fall Break, highly recommended.

The perfect place for relaxation....

  • 5 of 5

This place is fabulous, if you need to catch up on some much needed relaxation. The whole island is so peaceful and quiet. The beach is within walking distance and our dog absolutely loved the deck and the beach. The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed. We rode bicycles around the island, with no problems. We met so many friendly people in the neighborhood and at the beach. Everyone was so helpful. We ate at Barnacle Bills and the grouper and shrimp were delicious. Thank you Kim and Dennis for sharing your home.

Last Minute Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had an opportunity come up for a quick trip to the beach and the owners were so helpful and kind getting us booked. The house was perfect! We loved everything about it. The sunsets were beautiful. Every view from the house was spectacular. The downstairs shower was great for returning from the beach. The wagons for carrying stuff to the beach was very handy. We are already talking about going back next year. I personally loved the screened porch for my morning cup of coffee before the others got up. Perfect for bike riding. Loved it!!!

Cute beach bungalow for a week long stay, quiet and close to the beach!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Dauphin Island. The home was located within a couple of blocks to the beach. I loved that the area felt safe and was quiet. We are a family of five with teens ranging from 14-19 and it was nice to let them come and goes as they pleased with or without us. We all loved being able to sit out on the screened patio if it rained, and if one of us got up earlier or stayed up later than the others. The main area of the home (living and kitchen) are ample and spacious, but the bedrooms are very small with full size beds in each. The living area had a couch and a futon for extra sleeping. We brought an air mattress with us just in case and our youngest daughter slept on that in the living room and her brother on the futon. There was plenty of bedding and a fan in the master bedroom. The home was supplied with the necessary cooking utensils and dishes, and we cooked a big breakfast and dinner every day. The home met all our needs and stayed nice and cool on the hot days. The kids loved the outdoor shower and it was nice to rinse off after a visit to the beach. We grilled out on the charcoal grill and enjoyed the porch swing under the house in the evening. We also rented bikes one day and enjoyed riding around the island. There were plenty of beach toys at the house and four chairs to tote down to the beach in the wagon.

I would have liked to have seen a notebook/binder of some kind with tips about the house, groceries, ferry, bike rental, eating, and general things to do or see. I think that would have really eased our minds about visiting the island for the first time. We had to find out all these things ourselves. There was an island map and a couple of pamphlets in a kitchen drawer; I picked up several more while we were out and left them. We had a couple of minor issues with the house while we were there and the Carter's weren't able to fix them, but did make accommodation for us because of them. Overall our experience was positive, relaxing, and the Carter's were nice to work with - communication was fast and easy. I can definitely see us coming back to the island.

Sweet spacious home!

  • 5 of 5

We had excellent accommodations at the lovely home on Dauphin Island. My dog also loved it! The sliding/lockable gates on the wrap around deck were perfect to keep my dog on the deck without worry. The owners were gracious and helpful. All inquiries were answered in a timely manner. Dauphin Island is very dog friendly and people friendly too!
