Un chalet nouvellement rĂ©novĂ©, 2 chambres doubles et une chambre double et 2 salles de bains. Un salon confortable avec un poĂȘle Ă  bois et poutres apparentes naturelles dans le plafond. Highlight devrait ĂȘtre le conservatoire avec ses vues Ă  couper le souffle de l'Ăźle de Valentia et la riviĂšre Fertha. La cour goudronnĂ©e est sĂ»r fro petits enfants Ă  jouer / cycle. WOW! the VIEW! No photograph does it justice. Beautifully clean house, in a beautiful place. We were there mid winter for 10 days in January! Lovely hosts checking in on us. Internet fine to watch Netflix. I had worried about the cold as I live in Australia, but we were warm enough by the fire, nice and cosy in the sitting room, with extra blankets on the sofa. I would recommend leaving the shower on eco to get a constant temperature, or use the other shower with less power but very hot. The village is a very short drive away, with a few great places to eat even mid winter - and live music at the pub. Go to the Lazy cat cafe for a wonderful coffee, walk on beaches close by, have a laugh in the pub listening to irish music on a sunday, and gaze and gaze at the view from a sunny armchair at the house! Heaven!

Die Aussicht und die Lage sind ĂŒberwĂ€ltigend

Nach drei Tagen hatten wir uns eingelebt und konnten den Rest des Urlaubs genießen. Die Kommunikation mit Gillian war sehr gut, die Wegbeschreibung einwandfrei und der Einzug unproblematisch. Da meine Frau auf eine stĂ€ndige Versorgung mit medizinischen Produkten angewiesen ist, gestaltetet sich die Lagerung und Ablagemöglichkeit im Badezimmer(n) etwas schwierig. Da mussten wir etwas improvisieren. Auch die StĂ€rke des Wasserdrucks in den Duschen hĂ€tte etwas stĂ€rker sein können, aber das ist ein spezielles Problem, welches nur wir durch die Versorgungssituation hatten. Aber auch da wussten wir uns zu helfen. Mr. Price und Aldi in Cahersiveen halfen aus. Sonst ist alles da was man braucht! Das absolute Highlight war jedoch der Ausblick! Gefolgt von den Schafen mit ihren LĂ€mmern. Wir haben stundenlang im Windfang, im Esszimmer oder vor dem Haus gesessen und den Schafen und/oder dem Wetter ĂŒber einem ĂŒberwĂ€ltigendem Panorama zugeschaut. Urlaub und Entschleunigung pur! Herzlichen Dank an Gillian&Mike fĂŒr diesen schönen Urlaub...

Wir waren vier Wochen dort und nach der zweiten Woche war nach einem Ausflug wie nach hause kommen. Wir haben morgens im Anbau gesessen die SchiebetĂŒr geöffnet und den Kaffee bei einer traumhaften Aussicht genossen. Bei kleinen Problemen wurde sofort reagiert und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt, außerdem war es sehr angenehm ruhig bis auf die Schafe, Vögel und KĂŒhe war nichts zuhören. Wir werden bestimmt noch einmal wiederkommen!

Felt Like Family

Mike and Gillian’s cottage was lovely and homey. We stayed there 10 days and even though the weather was poor and neither me nor my husband were feeling very well (we had to go to the doctor in town to get antibiotics eventually) we rested and recuperated - sitting in the sunroom looking out at the beautiful scenery was perfect for both body and soul. By the time we left there we were raring to go on the next part of our trip. The hosts were super responsive to all our needs. The sheep were calming to look at. The town had good restaurants and stores. There was even an Aldi’s in town. The cottage was close to town but far enough away to feel you were in the country. This is a spectacular part of Ireland and we were very pleased that we chose this place. Thanks to the O’Connor’s!

Home Away From Home

Gillian & Mike are amazing hosts - always available, friendly, helpful - more like family than hosts! This house is one of 4 on the property (including Gillian & Mike’s own home) but you are very far apart with your own yard and space so it’s very private. Waking up to stunning views of the ocean, hillside, castle/ring fort and of course sheep made for a picturesque holiday that we’ll never forget. It’s an older home, but been kept up very well. Plenty of space for a family and room to work. Wifi was good enough for video conferences & streaming movies. Washer and Drier in the house, as well as a drying line outside, made laundry easy. The property is nonsmoking which was great - no horrible stall smoke smell lingering about. Gillian & Mike - their whole family actually, really made our holiday perfect, you won’t find better hosts!!!

Amazing view

We have had wonderfull week in this cosy cottage. The view is stuning, the house is big enogh for a family or two cuoples. Check in/out process is very easy. Landlord is very freandly and always ready to help. We enjoyed every minute in the house.

Super Ferienhaus

Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen. Als Familie mit 4 Kindern war genug Platz, auch darum im Garten und auf dem Hof war genug Platz zum spielen. Die KĂŒche war ausreichend eingerichtet und bot Möglichkeit zum Kochen. Hervorragend war die Lage um die wunderschöne Gegend und den Ring of Kerry sowie den Skellig-Ring zu erkunden. Am meisten erfreuten wir uns an dem Ausblick am Essenstisch, wir werden noch lange daran denken! Vielen Dank an Gillian!

Beautiful home in an ideal location

Gillian and Mike were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome yet we had our privacy. We loved our 2 week stay and didn’t need to travel far to enjoy our day. Coming home to the house perched on the hill with stunning views always amazed us. Very comfortable beds and a large living room couch to enjoy tv together. A super holiday to cherish.

Even better than it looks

This is a really nice house in a great location for exploring Co Kerry, with an absolutely amazing view. Honestly, the pictures don't really do it justice. It's extremely clean, has everything you probably would need, and the owners are extremely nice. They live one house away, so it's very convenient to check in or talk to them if you have questions, etc. And their recommendations were terrific! We had a wonderful time and have already recommend the house to some friends!

We had a really great week with Anne and Mike , they were the perfect hosts and looked after any of our requests straight away ! The house was perfect for us as a family of four , spacious , comfortable and with breathtaking views !! We would highly recommend this property !!

Beautiful views...but missing the love.....

The cottage is in a truly wonderful location on a hilltop, a stones throw from the Atlantic and (when it is not raining) affording sensational views. Throughout the process of booking the owners were more than flexible and friendly, and kindly stayed up despite our late arrival. The property itself is comfortable and well sized, but after a few hours the details sink in, and this is what makes the difference between a building that is rented out to make money and a home away from home. Things we noticed and would recommend attention: 1. The property is described as ‘newly renovated’ - it is not new. More like “ at some stage in the last 5 years’ - it is simply now too long since it was done to be described as such 2. Only upon arrival do you realize that even hot water out of the bathroom taps and kitchen sinks is electrically heated = you pay on top, for what is arguably a basic necessity. That you just pay for heating and hot water in a shower is just about Ok, but from a kitchen? And do not forget the rent is already on the healthy side of upper medium for Ireland... 3. with that in mind, despite a late arrival we were welcomed with no hot water. This cold water greeting left us feeling that this was intended to be more of a business than a passion and anything we want, we pay. We have been to many cottages that showed more heart than this, it was a cold shock (pardon the pun) 4. Poorly thought through on the details. No towel rails of any decent size that can hold more than one towel. How 6 people in this house dry their towels after a shower in bad weather is beyond me. No space to hang tea towels in the kitchen 5. Poor cleaning...look at the details...disgusting toilet brushes, beginning of mold around windows.....it needs some love 6. No mirror in one bathroom at all! No space to put anything from your toiletries anywhere in either bathroom 7. The dining table is wobbly and is almost impossible to eat off of I am aware that this sounds pretty bad. It is not, they are details, but enough that some may be disappointed when it is so easy to fix. I could not recommend staying here but that is my personal tast...others I am sure will be more than happy

A lovely house, great hosts in a quiet part of Ireland

We, a family of 5, spent almost a week in this lovely cottage amongst a lot of sheep. We went swimming at the many beaches and for walks in the lovely countryside. Gillian and Mike were great hosts. We can recommend this cottage to everyone .

Ferienhaus in wunderschöner Lage

Hervorragendes Ferienhaus in dem man sich gleich wohl fĂŒhlt. Ein kleiner Wintergarten mit Blick auf Valentia Island lĂ€dt dazu ein mit einem Tee / Whiskey die tolle Aussicht zu geniesen, wĂ€hrend hinten das Kaminfeuer knistert. Der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen - gerne kommen wir wieder.

Enjoyed the peaceful, cozy home away from our home.

Comfortable and quiet with outstanding views from every window in the cottage. Would recommend it highly to nature lovers like myself who also love to travel. The coastline in this area was dramatic and exploring it was amazing. Gillian and Mike are great hosts and we hope to visit again.
