Why Holly Wyllie chose Slob
We have been coming to St. Croix since we were on our honeymoon in 1992 and fell in love with the generous, kind people who live here and their island. This is a working island without large, commercial, all-consuming hotels and manufactured waterways. The fact that the weather is almost a constant temperature (about 10 degrees different between winter and summer) and always light and sunny spoke to us as well. We love the laid-back feel, the music, the art, the stunning beauty of the landscape with it's vibrant, constantly changing colors, water that is everywhere, and the feeling that we were coming home whenever we would visit. This is a place where you can just breathe. There's a lot of varied and different flora and fauna on St. Croix and it's so much fun to get to know all the species. When the Great Southern White butterflies hatch every year and fill the island with their presence so that you can walk through a cloud of them and they delicately land on your arms, or brush by your face, it's like a blessing being bestowed on you. And so we looked for quite a while to find a home on the water where we could be surrounded by the sea, have a beach where we could relax and play, and glide easily into the water. We were enchanted with this home and it's unique features like the rock walls, the painted murals, the mahogany woodwork, the lovely arched windows that open to the water/beach/pool/garden view to let in the breezes and keep the house cool. We loved the open, light, easy feel to the rooms, and that the house isn't overwhelming or pretentious, it's just comfortable and easy-going. Helping us to make the decision to buy here was the fact that as a US territory, all the laws are the same, the money and postal system is the same, English is the main language, insurances and taxes are the same. Spending time here is pure joy. Realistically, sometimes life get in the way but St. Croix is a bountiful feast for all your senses and total magic!!

Great house, location, weather, people and a car ride away from tons of activities!
A little bit of heaven
This was a home run for us. Holly couldn’t have been more helpful, and the house was everything plus more than the pictures. Our two adult children (29/31) both said it was the best vacation ever, and that’s after last year’s vacation in Rome. We definitely plan to return. If you are looking to relax and unwind this is a winner.
We are just thrilled that you all enjoyed your stay at Holly's! Our goal is to provide the type of vacation you're looking to have while offering you a warm home environment as a base. Our best reward is that you found what you were hoping to have and we'd welcome your return to St. Croix and Holly's Beach Folly. Thank you for being wonderful guests!
This was the most beautiful property, house and grounds. We stayed for 12 days and enjoyed ever minute. The location of the house was perfect. Within 15-30 minutes of almost everywhere we wanted to visit or explore. There were wonderful local restaurants, stores, drinking establishments, beaches, hiking trails and historical places to visit. Relaxing in the beautiful pool with views of the ocean, mountains, wildlife and vegetation was just as spectacular. The book of information provided was informative and helpful. We booked visiting Buck island on the catameran that leaves from the pier located right by the property. The captain was wonderful. They provide all the snorkeling equipment for exploring the memorizing sea life around Buck Island. We recommend booking this almost private excursion. They take only 6 people at a time as opposed to the other tours to Buck with 30 or more other people. We saw sea turtles popping out of the water from the balcony of the house. The house had everything we needed for cooking or grilling. The bedrooms and bathrooms were wonderful. We kept the windows to the main part or the house open almost all the time for the breeze and sounds of the ocean to surround us. The property Manager, Denise, was so kind, informative and overall pleasure. He told us about some wonderful local places to eat. There was a lot of sea grass on the beach in front of the home during our visit, but there are several beaches within a few minutes drive from the house to relax, enjoy watching the fish swim around you in clear Carribean water and sun yourselves on the sand. There are hiking trails that lead to some secluded beach areas within a few minutes as well. From the moment we met Sara to take us to the property through the moment we had to sadly end our stay, everything was above and beyond. I could write a short novel about how wonderful everything was and can't imagine a better place to call home for a short time on St. Croix. Thank you for opening this home for others to enjoy an experience of a lifetime.
We had a fabulous time at Holly’s! This home is perfect for family or couples getaways. You will value the privacy and freedom of the property, the space is cozy and makes for a fun experience. We will definitely look to come back. Thanks Holly😁
Incredible house with service to match!
St Croix is certainly a bit of paradise and Holly’s Folly made it easy to enjoy. From being greeted by Sara at the airport to waking up to the sound of the sea, to watching kids race sailboats from the balcony the house had all the comforts of home but in paradise!
We are so happy that you enjoyed your time in St. Croix at Holly's Beach Folly! It was our great pleasure to host you and we try really hard for your visit to be as stress-free as possible. We can't thank you enough for being our guests and hope we can welcome you back soon!
Simply the best
Looking at pictures is only half the story. The rooms are huge.
The layout is great although there is the spiral staircase to deal with.
In the first 30 minutes my 11 year old twins found a large starfish right off the beach. I was shocked by the quality of the furnishings and amenities.
Usually everything is crusty from the salt air, but not here. Even the patio furniture was fresh. The selection of glasses and other kitchen supplies was the best I've ever seen. All of the furnishings were first rate except for the wicker couch which was not very comfortable. The beds are very firm which left my wife a bit sore. Minor issues for an overall comfortable and welcoming place. With the large rooms there are many choices for dining.
We had another family over for dinner and there is a large table we sat eight comfortably. There are multiple smaller tables inside and out for many dining options. Holly was helpful and informative before our stay and we took advantage of having some groceries purchased for us ahead of our arrival. Sara greeted us at the airport and got us settled in quite nicely. A special location like no other. A private beach with nothing but a beautiful yatch club to distract the view.
*Because we are located on the East End of St. Croix, we are about 5 miles to Point Udall, the easternmost point of the United States! As you drive there from Holly's Beach Folly, you will pass hiking trails on the right and left of the road that go down to the Sea to Jacob's Bay and Isaac's Bay. This is the only way to access these beaches, and it's well worth the climb. This would be a good place to try mountain biking if you were interested in that. And it's also an awesome place to jog if you stay on the main road in and out. You will also pass Cramer's Park as you drive toward Point Udall which is a lovely large beach area with changing rooms, bathrooms, marked swimming areas, and picnic tables for your use. Often concerts are held in Cramer's Park and most are open to the public.
*Continuing for a short distance past the turn-off for Cramer's Park and Point Udall, you will come to The Divi Casino (on your right), and the Divi Hotel. The Hotel has a restaurant, anyone can use their sandy beach, great snorkeling, a Cane Bay Dive Shop if you're looking to scuba, a miniature golf course, pizza to go, a spa and massage service, and a great outdoor bar and light fare restaurant.
*If you continue on past the Divi, you will be on the South Shore of the Island, and really in mountains for quite a while. It's a very scenic drive.
*If you choose to turn right coming from Mooring Road onto the main road, you will go about a mile to The Reef where you can play golf and don't need to belong to a country club.
*As you continue to drive a short distance further, on the right, you will see Duggan's Restaurant. I'd recommend reservations and one of their most popular dinners is local whiskey lobster. They are right on the water and you can either be under a roof (and still open air) or out on a deck. It's a full bar with many delicious selections. During the day, you can use the beach that's there for snorkeling, swimming, lounging, etc.
*Continuing down the road (this will take you to Christiansted), on the left and up a small road, you will see The Blue Water Terrace Restaurant. This is a fabulous place for all kinds of food, usually dinner and brunch on Sunday, and you can order food to go. Highly recommended! Open air dining overlooking the sea! Making reservations is a good idea here if you'd like to dine in.
*Continuing on, you will come to Ziggy's on the right which is a gas station, mini-market, local bar, fast food they cook as you order, and the people who own it were on HGTV's Caribbean Life!
Right past this, on the right is Castaways, and this is an outside bar/restaurant with different entertainment pretty much every night; pizza, burgers, chicken, ribs, pasta, salads to order; and a lot of fun.
* As you continue along, on the left, you will see The Cultured Pelican Restaurant in a very pink condo area. They feature Italian food along with fresh seafood and have open air dining above a pool and the sea. Excellent!
*As you continue a little longer on this road, you will come to Cheney Bay Condo's on your right, and if you drive in the entrance and park in the obvious parking area, you can walk a little way to a wonderful outdoor restaurant and a great bar right on the Sea. Their food is delicious and the location is hard to beat!
*Right past Cheney Bay, on your left, is Cheeseburgers In Paradise Restaurant and Bar where you can usually have fresh seafood and great burgers and fries. They have an inside bar area and if you opt for the outside you do sit in a gravel, tented space but the local music is impossible to beat! It's very kid friendly, relaxing, and a lot of fun.
*If you follow this road around, you will soon be in Christiansted and all along the way there are all sorts of restaurants, grocery stores (Food Town, The Seaside Market-very expensive but they have EVERYTHING), gas stations, schools, and you'll be in the town where you can park for free at the Fort, and walk around shopping or go to the Boardwalk, and stay on the water with lots of restaurants and shops there as well. Just be sure to check when the Fort will close for the day so you'll be back in time to move your car or it will be locked in for the night!
*One of our favorite things to do is to take a little boat from the Fort across the bay to Hotel on the Cay where they have beachfront food and beverages, and one of the nicest beaches around. Very easy swimming, great place to learn to snorkel, no tides, great snorkeling (although to see lots of reef fish, you need to go to the right around the end of the island), and it's very fun to watch the sea planes take off and land there. Great bathrooms are off the bar area so you really don't have to go anywhere else for the day!
*Be sure to look in St. Croix This Week to see where and when the Mocko Jumbies are performing and don't miss their presentation. If they're at the Divi or Hotel on the Cay or elsewhere, there is usually good food and drink, music, and they are fantastic!
