ENJOY THREE OF THE ISLANDS' BEST RESTAURANTS AND A GROCERY STORE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF OUR VILLA!

Indulge in a taste of tropical paradise at this prime Belizean getaway. With 5000 square feet of property for your enjoyment, this three story house is perfect to comfortably accommodate 12 people located at the fringes of the Caribbean Sea on Ambergris Caye, this completely BEACHFRONT villa offers many amenities to make your vacation to the island one that will keep you coming back again and again.

This home boasts two spacious balconies where the breathtaking view of the clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and egdes of the Barrier Reef is in front of your eyes. On the second floor patio, the large pool reaching down to 11 feet is available for anything from lap swimming to just splashing around in the refreshing water. However, there is an ample amount of room around the pool for relaxing in a chair or having a BBQ. Moving up, the third floor veranda has plenty of space as well to sit in a chair with a good book or to enjoy the amazing island breeze. Also, the flat roof shares incredible sunsets, views of the sea and lagoons for a place to just get away. We have added a beautiful owner's unit on the ground floor connected to the villa to accomodate your extra guest. An additional fee would apply for this.

Villa Aurora wouldn't be complete without the 300 foot long private dock with a palapa at its boundaries for shade protection from sun and tropical rains. In addition, the space beneath offers benches to rest on after a long day of fishing or just to appreciate the tranquility from the wind and sea. Plus, there is a full length hammock where one can doze off. In fact, all you need is a couple pillows and blanket to have a camp out on the dock where you can admire the sparkle of millions of stars in the sky, a truly unique sight.

If you would like to swim or snorkel from the dock, there are stairs for easy access in and out from the shallow waters. This front dock is easily accessible by water taxis, dive boats, and fishing captains to make your stay a breeze, as a fun day of fishing, scuba diving or a afternoon in town is only a call away. Additionally, behind the house, the lagoon is situated where a short dock can be found. Also, for the avid fisherman, catches are obtainable off both docks.

Inside the grand villa, there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a sofa bed for extra sleeping room. There is one bedroom on the second floor and three on the third, and all of the rooms have an expanse of space for your disposal to keep you always content. Two bedrooms on the third story have entrance to the veranda. The rooms present the outside from full length windows replacing a wall that allows the rays of the sun to flood the room all day. The bathrooms are connected to two of the third story rooms. The third bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom on the second story. All bathrooms have showers.

Along with the rooms, there is a cozy living room where more than200 channels are waiting from the satellite television that you can watch from a snug couch. There is also an enormous kitchen (with all the essentials to create a delectable meal) that extendes to an area for dining. Lastly, this humble abode contains a laundry room with washer and dryer to make your vacation less complicated.

For all your vacation needs so that it is one filled with activities and fun, there are countless places and individuals to guide you on a fascinating experience. With a fishing captain, there are various spots in over 2000' of water less than 5 minutes from the dock within or past the reef that are teeming with massive fish that can be cooked back at the house. For fisherman, your haven for fishing is located extremely close. Also, snapper are available at the front dock and the lagoon is home to tarpon and barracuda. Other fish that can be caught inside or outside the reef include: marlin, tuna, snapper, grouper, dorado.

UNSAFE HOUSE! NO A/C, EXPOSED ELEC OUTLETS, EXPOSED RUSTED NAILS ON DOCK , BROKEN DOORS AND WINDOWS

  • 1 of 5

DO NOT RENT VILLA AURORA! IT IS UNSAFE, THE OWNER HAS NEVER CONTACTED US, IT HAS MAJOR MAINTENANCE NIGHTMARES W/ PICS TO PROOVE IT. NO EXCUSES CAN EXPLAIN AWAY THE NEGLECT WE RECEIVED!

1. From 7/20-7/27 the only day we had the A/C working for a full day was Sat, 7/26 b/4 we departed. There is 1 main unit and 4 units in the B/R. Only 2 in the B/R worked. I contacted the owner several times and he never contacted me. There was a storm Tues night and the mgr said it's what caused the A/C not to be restored. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THE A/C NEVER WORKED BEFORE OR AFTER THE STORM UNTIL IT WAS REPAIRED FRIDAY NT. My husband is 44 y/o & had a stroke in 2012. My 4 y/o had his 3rd open heart surgery in 2011. This trip was to celebrate family and life. My husband can't get up spiral stairs and he had to stay in the B/R until it cooled off enough to go outside b/c the main A/C was broken until Fri. nt. I have pics of the A/C units that were replaced and to support the repairman's stmt & previous feedback on Villa Aurora-the units were old, rusted, not maintained & a fire hazard! The wires were rusted and exposed.

2. The dock has rusted nails sticking out, planks missing and loose! Be current on tetanus shot. The back dock has no water access & is used for a trash dump.

3. Electric sockets are exposed and hanging out of the wall by the pool. We asked the care taker about this he said that the elec in the states is different than in BZE, but to watch out b/c the light in the pool is out and not to put your hand near it b/C it can shock you. WHY IS THIS NOT ADDRESSED?

4. Several windows & doors are broken. The MB/R door is makeshift plywood & leaked. The main door had broken panes. Hazardous when it rained b/c it flooded the floors. Floor tiles missing & uneven. 70 y/o parents, a disabled husband and small child-DESPICABLE!!

5. Since my arrival to BZE and since I have been home, NOT ONE PHONE CALL HAS BEEN RETURNED BY THE OWNER

6. In a phone call to the mgr while in BZE, he told me that TP, H2O delivery, and going to grocery are "extras" & "need to be tipped". He said he was using his own $ to "make it right for us". When is A/C and TP extra? He said he was verbally "beaten up by the owner" which is why he was absorbing the charges, was MIA & didn't have the $ for the maint he said has been needed a long time. We expect a safe place, true advertising and to make things right. They didn't provide the basic comfort or necessities. So disappointing!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We value the opinion of our customers and regret that the experience did not meet your expectations. After reading your review, we immediately arranged for our property manager to do a thorough and complete inspection of the property, in addition to the walkthrough that is completed before and after every guest checks in, and have been assured Villa Aurora is in great condition. The issues of exposed outlets, rusty nails, broken doors etc were not discovered and appear to be resolved. All the windows at the property have been replaced since your visit and we are regretful and apologetic that this impacted your stay with us. The dock at the property continues to be in pristine condition. The second dock you refer to in the review is located off the property across a public road and is not meant to be accessed by our guests. Again, we apologize that this impacted your experience. We are devoted to providing the best possible experience for our guests and believe that we did our best to accommodate your party. Although your contract stated a maximum of 10 guests and you arrived with a group of 14, instead of insisting only the contracted guests stay we allowed the 4 extra guests to stay instead of having them move to another location as we wanted to spare you the expense and inconvenience of finding a last minute rental. When the only issue we were informed of (storm affecting A/C) arose, we offered a sincere note of apology and provided fruit platters, ice cream and food for you and your guests as a token of goodwill to apologise for any inconvenience the bad weather caused. We offered a discount of 30% as a gesture of goodwill, as well as allowing complimentary use of our in-law suite to accommodate your extra guests. We also provided four free round trips for your entire party to and from the property on a private water taxi. Regardless, we truly value the opinions and experiences of each and every guest at Villa Aurora and we are regretful that your vacation did not meet your expectations.

Above and beyond any expectations!

  • 5 of 5

The listing and pictures were accurate, and even more inspiring in person! The house and sandy beach were well-kept, and the beach was maintained each day to dispose of any sea-grass that washed up overnite. We felt safe the entire time, even when walking to restaurants a few properties down. The concierge (Armando) was gracious and kind, and not only helped us get safe, secure, and fast travel to the house, but also helped line up any excursions we wanted during our stay. He also assisted us with any questions about the area, and even would deliver our groceries from a list we gave him. The caretaker (Marlon) was always available and would help us find the best snorkeling spots, as well as made the most AMAZING meals (and homemade tortillas) we ate our entire time in Belize! Their knowledge of the area and fishing is impressive! Both of these gentlemen were available for anything we needed, but completely unobtrusive. All the kids and adults on our trip loved them both! Between the gorgeous house/location/beach and the people on hand, our trip exceeded everyone's expectations! Thank you again to Patrick for making the booking so easy, and to Armando and Marlon for their graciousness and hospitality!

Wonderful Time at Villa Aurora!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 8 friends who rented the villa for a week. It met all of our expectations and exceeded a few of them as well. We had a small snafu upon arrival but Armando fixed it to our satisfaction and we place no blame on him. We very much enjoyed the company of Armando and Marlin as we got to know them. Marlin was diligent about keeping the beach clean and the trash picked up. He is very quiet and unobtrusive but if you need him, he is right there.

Notes: we rented a golf cart and felt it was a huge waste of money. The road was miserable and all of us who spent any time in the cart ended up with sore backs. We rented from Unbelizeable Carts and I do NOT recommend them. Carla was just nasty to deal with. We went with Suya Tours for a trip to Hol Chan and Shark Alley and Allen was our guide. This is a must do! And please request Allen - he was great!

After reading other reviews and others on the island, we brought way more food than we needed. Yes, the prices are expensive but there is no need to go overboard on what you bring. We ended up leaving a suitcase full of food! There is a man who sells breakfast burritos and tamales from a bike each morning. The best tamales ever!!

The layout of the house is strange for a rental with only two of the bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms but we were able to make it work. The house had everything we needed for cooking and most of what we needed for cleaning. The worst thing about the house is the narrow spiral stairs. Brutal in the morning or after a few pina coladas! And it was disappointing that the rooftop was completely bare, with no chairs. But the spectacular sunsets more than made up for it.

Overall, I give Villa Aurora an A+. It's a home, not a resort, so a few quirks are to be expected but the staff, the view, the water - it all combined to give us an exceptional vacation that we'll always remember.

OUTSTANDING

  • 5 of 5

Four of us had the luxury to stay at the Villa Aurora, and I must say, this was an experience I/we will never forget. From the time the Tropical Ferry Service picked us up at the Airport to our Departure, the Staff did an exceptional job of making us feel welcome and accommodating our every needs. The House and property was absolutely gorgeous. We spent a lot of time at the pool on the property as well as snorkeling off the end of the dock (found an octopus in a conch shell!!). Though we experienced 4 straight days of rain, the caretaker Joe made sure to keep us occupied by taking us conch hunting down the beach and fishing in the evening. If you're a Diver, make every opportunity to Dive the Barrier Reef as it was breath-taking or at the very least enjoy a snorkel trip. We bought groceries at the local market but we also enjoyed many of the local restaurants within walking distance of the house. Our favorite was Jamba's, which was right next to the Villa as well as the delivery man who brought us breakfast burritos right to the back door each morning!! I can't wait till the next opportunity to visit the Villa again and this trip has been by far the best place we've visited in the Caribbean!!

Our Ten days at Villa Phenomenon

  • 2 of 5

The nine of us did enjoy ourselves the best we could; however, I must be candid and bring to your attention some things that need addressing immediately. When we arrived at Villa Aurora both Adolpho and his wife Delsia were superb. I must commend Adrian, Craig, Adolpho, Delsia, and Kevin as they made our trip as pleasant as possible. They tried doing things for us but were limited with equipment and supplies and they did receive their orders from a higher power, but did the best they could with what they had to work with. It is my understanding that you are going to go into Villa Aurora and refurbish it and our visit was the last guest to be there before this was to be done. To be outspoken I wished I had known that this was the case before I booked this holiday as I would have taken another property. Problems that exist… The tiles on the floors are coming up throughout the property and in fact there are many that have been removed already, making the floor uneven and subject to stubbing toes and/or tripping, which occurred on our visit. Most all air-conditioning units were not working properly when we arrived. After advising Armando (your manager of your holdings) it took some six days before this was addresses. During this same time the pool became very murky and needed chemicals to clean it up. Again another few days for this to be addressed; Adolpho tried to clean the pool but did not have proper equipment or products to do so. Armando informed me, when I finally saw him on Sunday, four days after being there, that he would have people come out and fix the problems, i.e. pool, ac. On Tuesday, two days later, he did. The main ac problem was in the owners’ suite as it would go off and you would have to turn it on every hour to keep the suite fit for human habitation. It was repaired and it did work very well and the suite was an ice box, so I adjusted the settings and it went back to turning off every hour. I just moved into one of the rooms upstairs, using the floor as a bed as it took some six days for the prior repair. Water… I did not realize that drinking water was needed to be hauled in for our consumption. I told Armando on Tuesday that we had enough water until Thursday morning at the very latest and he assured me that water would be delivered by 11:00am on Thursday. At 4:00pm on Thursday we had been out of water for three hours so I gave Adolpho money for water, toilet paper, paper towels... The list goes on too many problems for this review.

Owner's Response: In response to this review Guests are renting a home(not an inclusive resort) which comes with 10 gals of drinking water and all the hygiene necessities to start ones vacation. It is up to the home renter to acquire additional water, food and all other disposal necessities that one requires during their vacation. Reset thermostats, due to local power outages, within 4 hrs of notification not 6 days. Pool addressed by crew as soon as monsoon rains stopped, treated due to dilution and was perfect 2 hrs later Provided in excess of 80 gallons of drinking water, multiple transport to and from town, caretakers cooked multiple courses, provided bait and equipment for fishing, provided guide and boat for snorkeling. All of these are normally additional cost, which were provided at No Charge. The cost of renting was reduced prior to booking due to the rainy season. When travelers book in monsoon season they take the risk of having very rainy days, which occurred. Tiles popped in May which could not be reset until the end of our high season(August), rugs covered area. In closing, said guest had every opportunity to call or email during their 10 day stay if there were any concerns but elected not to. Daily reports received said guest were satisfied. 72 hours after their 10 day vacation this review showed up. Our villa is safe, beautiful and cared for and so are the renters.
