The Thelma Cottage brings to life the charming personality of Thelma Dickinson from Thelma and Louise, the classic film about two bffs on the ultimate road trip adventure. Boho charm with romantic details, this cottage is the perfect place to crash after a day exploring Garner park or floating the Frio.


As Thelma would say “You said you and me was gonna get outta town and, for once, just really let our hair down. Well, darlin', look out, 'cause my hair is comin' down”

Enjoy the tranquility of front porch sittin’, bird watching, the relaxation of Frio river floatin’, or gorgeous hiking at Garner Park. We are only 2.5 miles from Garner State Park.

If you want to hangout in the river for the day, we are just a few miles from the popular low water crossings. We are 2.6 miles from Magers Crossing, and 3.3 miles from Seven Bluffs Crossing.

For a proper float, we are just a few miles from all of the popular tubing outfitters/shuttle services. Happy Hollow, Josh’s, and Andy’s are all about 5 miles away.

Every morning, you will be greeted by a variety of birds in the front yard. The area is known for many incredible birds. We’ve seen indigo buntings, painted buntings, bluebirds, cardinals, the golden cheek warbler, and many more amazing birds on our property, and in the area.

You will have full access to this one bedroom tiny home, including the front porch, picnic tables, fire pit, and bbq pit. Be sure to bring charcoal and firewood.

We offer coffee, tea, and light snacks for you to enjoy during your stay.

It’s Frio time!

*Be sure to bring beach towels. We do not allow our towels to leave the property, and you will be charged $15 per missing towel.

*We do have other rentals available on the same property to accodomidate larger groups.

*This listing will include a 4% local and 6% Hotel Occupancy Tax.

*We only do 1 night bookings during the week. On weekends, there is a 2 night minimum*

** We do have wifi on the property, but it is limited and slow. It's rural country wfi, and cannot handle streaming services. The wifi is here if you need to check your email, send a text, or make a call**

Very homey cabin.

This is a very cute, comfortable cabin that meets all the basic needs. It's well supplied for cutlery and dishes, etc. Leah goes to extra lengths to put in REAL plants and to have little touches around that make you feel very welcome when you get there. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. The bed, by the way, super comfortable!

Nostalgic Get Away

My dad & I took a two day nostalgic trip to the Concan/Garner Park area to reminisce about the days when our family spent our summer vacations camping there. Jake & Leah were wonderful hosts! Their communication was excellent. They provided great tips for eating and sightseeing options. We couldn’t have felt more welcomed at the Thelma Cottage. I asked that Leah please arrange for some balloons to be in the cottage for my dad’s birthday, and she graciously obliged. If you are looking for a high end resort, this is not your spot. However, if you are wanting a warm, cozy feeling of being with family...The Inn Between is your spot! We would definitely return!

We had a wonderful time at the In Between and hope to go back very soon.

Great place to stay... proximity to Garner State Park and even Lost Maples is really convenient... you don't have to deal with the crowds staying at these parks... you go for the day hike, have a picnic, maybe swim and then you get to go back to the Inbetween and sit outside maybe around a fire and watch the many stars above. Beautiful. we will be back for sure.

Great little stay💝

Our mini vacation at the Inn Between was the so much fun. The Thelma cabin was perfect for my husband and I and 2 other couples. Leah and Jake did a great job and making it feel very welcoming, even put a little welcome basket together with a welcome note, snacks and many other goodies. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Had some difficulty in finding the place due to a lack of signage in the front. It was particularly difficult at night because of lack of lighting. Thanks for the muffins, they were very good. The only reason I would consider not returning is because of the constant noise from trucks on the highway at night. Thanks for your hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay in this location. The decorations are just like walking into someone's home that has incredible taste. Beds were comfortable! The owners of the property are gracious and accommodating. Road noise when outside but didn't notice it once inside the house. Adorable little cottage in perfect location!

We were actually visiting this cozy little cabin because we were working at our new deer lease and haven’t moved our travel trailer here yet. We LOVE this area and this little house is in the perfect location; super close to the river, super close to our lease, and not too far from all the shops and good eats. The decor makes this cabin so homely and cozy! We loved this little place! Check in / out was SUPER easy and efficient. The hosts are super friendly and we will be back!

Our story is a tale of adventure, mixed with whimsy, love, and surprise. From meeting on the dance floor of a honky tonk , getting married in Botswana six months later, running off to Australia only to come right back to Texas, then California, and now our biggest adventure yet. Moving to Concan, Texas population 100, and starting The Inn Between to share with our amazing guests.

I grew up coming to Concan and floating the Frio River, while Jake grew up camping at Garner State Park year after year. Like many Texans, this place is special to us, some of our best memories were made at the Frio.

We knew we wanted to live in Concan, but in a town of 100 people, we needed to figure out a way to make a living. As a little girl, I dreamed of having a house out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by plants, hills, and animals, that I could share with travelers looking to escape for a bit. I thought it was just a romantic dream that would never become a reality. Who would have known that this childhood dream would become the exact thing that Jake and I would create as a young married couple?!

We started The Inn Between to help families and friends create lifelong memories. We believe that family/friend vacations are irreplaceable when it comes to building relationships and connecting with loved ones.

Our greatest honor is to be part of your story, to help you connect as a family, and create traditions to be passed down generation after generation.

We take pride in bringing you the best customer service in Concan, and are committed to making your trip as magical as possible. Because we live on the property, we are available to 24/7.

We have several fruit trees and herbs that we grow for our guests to enjoy. Feel free to pick fresh fruit throughout your trip.

Though we are not waterfront, we are very close to the water, and away from the crowds that like to hangout by the river all day.

We love adding extra special touches to help make your trip personal and believe that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get quality service.
