Lovely view of Howe Sound
We are a family of five and we enjoyed our four day stay in this house. It was a charming place with a beautiful view of the Howe Sound. The house was well stocked and had everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable - even the pull out sofas had good mattresses. Jan was very thorough and helpful in arranging our stay. He let us know about the nearby gondola and we went to the top. We did some hiking and had some amazing views. We were close enough to the town of Squamish to enjoy some nice restaurants and their music festival, but just far enough away that this house was a quiet getaway.

Wish it was my home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home. The place was extremely clean, comfortable and spacious for my family of 6. Don't let the pull out sofas discourage you...they honestly felt like sleeping on my bed at home! I'm sure the view is beautiful...we were only able to see it a bit through the wildfire smoke. Hopefully the winds shift so others can enjoy it! The location was perfect...an easy drive to Vancouver or Whistler. My only regrets are having to leave and living too far to enjoy this home more often!

Thank you Shannon. Come again next year. Hopefully we won't have fires again and the view will be better than this year...
Brittania Beach is an amazing location - and our stay at the property certainly kept pace with experience. Very close to the Brittania mine, we learned about the history of the place at the nearby Mine Museum. We are an active family, so it was a very easy drive to nearby Squamish where we went biking the local trails to Alice Lake, fishing at Browning Lake, boating at Howe Sound and hiking - the latter at the Stawamus Chief!
It was very easy communicating with Jan, the property manager - and we certainly enjoyed the spectacular views of the Sound from the balcony. The access to the excellent kitchen allowed us to cook family meals, and the laundry washer/dryer made it very convenient for us.
Thank you, Jan! We definitely enjoyed our stay - and look very much forward to visiting the area. And when we do, we hope we can stay again.
Fantastic area with incredible views close to attractions and town services. The unit was comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately it was not mentioned in any conversation or description of the VRBO that there were three floors in the house with people living there. The manager had mentioned that he lives upstairs above the unit we were in but did not mention that there was another rental unit below us (seven young people were sharing this unit while we were there). Creaking floors and conversations were easily heard from both above and below. Also, the unit and its contents are old and somewhat tired … but still functional. The manger was responsive to our queries and was pleasant.
Thanks for hosting us Jan, we enjoyed our stay at your property. The view from the porch was really nice. Note that this property has a shared entrance with Jan living in the upstairs unit and another tenant in the basement unit, but that had no effect on us. Would come again for the future!

The upper apartment of the house in which Carole stayed is over 70 years old. The house has been renovated recently but a lot in the apartment stayed the same. The main problem that Carol had is confusing the looks of something that is old with it cleanliness. The review is with odds with many other reviewers that stated that the unit is "very clean", "extremely clean", "absolutely beautiful and clean", etc. The other thing is that I live in the small apartment in the attic of the house and I am around everyday available to help which I make it clear to all tenants at the time of their arrival. If anything were not to Carol's expectations she could easily ask me to fix it. She would then realize that something that looks like a "stain" is simply the result of age and absolutely NOT the result of being dirty.
I clean the apartment myself an, frankly, find the review offensive...
A beautiful spacious place with a great view from the deck. Close to Squamish and all things you want to do outside.Lakes, parks, hiking The Chief and close to Whistler
Everything was as he said and we had a nice relaxing time.

Best View in Britannia Beach!
Very clean and lovely apt. Off a side street so safe yet accessible to Squamish. Caretaker went out of his way to see we had what we needed. Would stay here again, for sure. The balcony was where we spent most of the evening. Just lovely!!

Very good place
Jan has a very good place and it's good value for money. Initially we had the impression that this is an independent home and not an apartment within a home. So we had some reservations. But the experience was great. The view was great! And Jan was very helpful all along. If you value your privacy and yet want to enjoy the place- this is a perfect get away. It's an hour from Vancouver and tight smack in the middle of everything that nature has to offer! Good stuff Jan! God bless!!

Yes, this is a free standing house but only the first floor of the house is being rented out. In addition, there is upstairs a small apartment that is from time to time being used by me -- Jan -- the property manager, if I am not staying in Vancouver. However, I have my private entry and I am doing my best to be quiet and to not interfere with the guests enjoyment of the property. The property owners who are away want me to "have an eye" on the house during their absence.

Just to make sure that someone doesn't get a wrong impression of the kitchen after reading this comment. It is a standard kitchen with a standard size stove, kitchen tab, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc. It was made for a couple who lives in the house during the winter and they don't need a huge kitchen. So it is not as big as one might be used to have but it is absolutely enough for one or two people to prepare meals in it.

Heaven on earth!
What else can I say. We (group of 4) had a wonderful stay. Plenty of room, incredibly clean, very well appointed, and the view could not be beat. Britannia Beach is THE best location along the Howe Sound. Cannot wait to go back!
