Amazing view, but check with owner if AC is fixed before booking.

Wow!!! A situation beyond our control as the ac went out just prior to her arrival. We had Grimes ac on site within 30 minutes and when they said the part would not arrive till Monday we gave her two extra cottages so they would be comfortable. I feel we responded as best we could and am shocked to receive this review.

Peaceful and charming river house
The location of this property is perfect! The house is an old Florida style home which was absolutely charming. It's spacious and the front porch looking out to the river is amazing. There is plenty of activities such as kayaking, horse shoes, and numerous games.
We loved all of the interactions with had with the owners and of other people staying at the location. It was a wonderful time and they provided plenty of space and on site activities for us to enjoy our downtime when we weren't boating. The AC is nice and cold. The dock was very clean . We loved how it was like a small community with all of the other cottages. Definitely considering this location for a future family reunion.

Disapointed
The property was lovely yet very dated. Although it appeared clean we could smell mold. The appliances and dishes were in bad shape. Sheets on the beds were stained and stiff. We also found a couple of roaches which turned us off the possibility of returning or recommending the property.
The location was fabulous!

You rented an 80 year old home, we do not have any mold so you may not be accustomed to an older wood home on the water. The sheets were brand new and palmetto bugs are normal in Florida but we treat regularly so when they cross the threshold they die quickly. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay, wish you would have communicated so we would have had a chance to address your concerns. We gave you 5 stars for communication as it was all positive until this.
First of all it STUNK! Filthy, dirty, nasty molds everywhere, coffee pot has about 4 inches of molds, and is rusty, tea pot is rusty, cabinets and linen closets smells like mouse pee, roaches everywhere big ones, little ones and babies. A blanket has a hole and has stained like an old blood and stunk. Nasty sofa and throw pillows as well and dirty chairs in the kitchen. When we called the owner they just told us "Oh well" and hung up. The bathrooms and showers were stuck up. The air was so bad you can barely breath. We tried to stay but started to see more things wrong, we did not stay single night since we left. We went to Holiday Inn. This place absolutely ruined our vacation.

Old Home, Musty Smells With No Charm
We rented this property for 3 nights. If you like the smell of must everywhere, this place is for you. If you like a nice and loud train, including the whistle, rolling through at all hours of the day & night, this place is for you. I inquired w/the host about the train after I made our RSVP and I was told that the property is on 5 acres of dense woods separating them from the tracks. There were no dense woods; rather a bunch of cottages & other homes between this property & the tracks. Some trees, yes, but not dense woods. If you like old, uncomfortable mattresses & pillows, this place is for you. If you like cheap pilled sheets and musty smelling blankets, this place is for you. If you like rust in your tea, be sure to use the old rusted teapot! If you like dust & dog hair throughout, this place is for you. If you like the look of paint peeling off the walls, this place is for you. If you like sharing the property with other guests who rent the several cottages located on the back of this property, this place is for you. Bring lots of quarters with you, the laundry is also shared and coin operated. The water, including showers, has a rotten egg smell. It tarnished all of my silver jewelry, which I now have to send out to be professionally cleaned/polished. This place is "Old" but there is definitely no "Charm". For the price we paid, I would've expected a hell of a lot nicer!!! The only nice thing I will say about this property is the view from the oversized front porch.

This is the worst review we have ever seen. Please take a minute to read what Corie is saying as it is all false. We have been in business a very long time and would not be if these statements were true. She can say anything she wants as we cannot prove otherwise so please take a moment to go on google maps and view the property at 3011 N Indian River Drive. By doing so you will see that she is not being truthful in at least one of her comments. We have 5 ac with 15 total cottages nicely spread out and dense woods between us and the rail road. By dense I mean you cannot walk thru the woods and she was in the cottage farthest from the tracks. Also in another comment she said we were rude as we like to have a personal contact with our customers by talking to them verses texting. Lastly she never complained about anything during her stay. So Please disregard this review and come experience the Old Florida Charm of the Indian River Lagoon Waterfront Cottages for yourself.
Our stay was enjoyable. Location quiet and close town and beaches. Beds were very comfortable. The reason for a 4 rating was the 3rd bedroom/sun room was missing blinds from the big front window and the french access doors had not blinds....privacy was an issue. The 2 bathrooms were located within the 2 other bedrooms making it difficult to access at night for those sleeping in the 3rd bedroom. Many little cosmetic issues but we saw many impovements being made. We cooked Christmas dinner here and found the kitchen sorely lacking....updated cookware and overall cleanliness. Overall , still an enjoyable and pleasant stay.

Amazing Space in need of deep clean
The space was generous. The views phenomenal. Our only downside was the cleanliness. Have no issues with a vintage unit (offers charm and character), but this had nothing to do with how old the house was. It is need of a deep clean.
For only being there two days it was not worth calling the property managers back out, only to have us leave the unit to clean again.

The person cleaning the cottages is disabled and usually does a great job. It is unfair to leave a bad review when you did not allow us to correct any issue you had.
We enjoyed staying in the main house. Nice quiet location on the Indian River but close to grocery store and restaurants. The house was comfortable with a great front porch. The hosts were very responsive to our needs.
We saw dolphins and manatees almost daily. It is a very old house with lots of character
just needs a good deep cleaning.
The property was stunningly beautiful. So many glad windows and doors facing the water. You are quite literally a stone's throw away from the water. We could sit on the porch and watch the children play on the beach. It got pretty cold while we were there, but the wood floor was warm on our toes. The original hardware on the doors was so beautiful. Truly an old Florida home. We were transformed back in time for our stay. The landscaping was beautiful. There is no traffic on the street. We felt very safe. Thank you, Kimberly! We will certainly be back!
It was a charming property and reminecent of “old FL living”. We just had to pretend we were staying at grandmothers house on the river and overlook the fact that this rental needed a thorough cleaning. The floor under the bed in MB was thick with dust and the oven was very greasy. I cooked a pizza in the oven and when I pulled out the rack, the mit stuck to the rack and burned slap through in 3 seconds due to grease residue. A deep cleaning and a little paint to cover scuff marks on walls would have earned a 4 star rating from me.

We wish you had called about the oven so it could have been addressed, as for the scuff marks, sorry the tenant before you was in a wheel chair and caused some damage that needed extra time to address. Once again if you had called we could have explained and saved you the trouble of a negative review.
Beautiful older home in a good location. Antique furnishings with some updates. Acceptable condition, would like larger garbage can in kitchen. Kitchen and bathrooms could have been better stocked with soap, dishes, etc. Overall we would likely come back again.
Great location; great view, nice layout on the positive side; cleaning was sub par compared to any other VRBO we’ve enjoyed. Host offered to help but we didn’t want to wait for the cleaning service so we cleaned the sink, refrigerator and dining room table ourselves.
Location was good. Had a nice view off front porch. But that is where it ends.
Very dirty. Very few cook ware in kitchen. Only one skillet to fit one egg. All the furniture is about worn out. Stains and holes in fabric. Sunroom beds were dirty and stained bed coverings. Kitchen cabinets were sticky. Hutch in kitchen had missing handles. Not a good deal for over $300 a night. Owner needs to put some money back into property. Granite counter top has large crack in it. All the dish soap and hand soap left behind had been filled with water. Even the outdoor furniture has seen its better days. Floor moldings in kitchen were black in spots. Hardwood floors had holes in it. Left a day early because could not stay there any longer. Would not recommend this to anyone.
This area has a magical special feel. It is quiet and beautiful. The front porch is where we spent a lot of time able to social distance with in-laws in a safe and beautiful atmosphere. The street is very quiet with only residents and service trucks going by.
There is a Smoker BBQ out back with another round table for sitting. We used the BBQ almost every night. The back table has a nice view of the property cottages.
The grounds are well kept/manicured.
There is also a coin laundry/storage room with board games and lawn games such as corn hole, badminton and scrabble.
Inside is very spacious. The living/dining room is airy.
The front room (3rd bedroom) has 2 single beds set up like couches. It lets in huge amounts of light.
The downside is that the place wasn't very clean. The dishes in the kitchen needed cleaning as they had caked on food and the shelving had some nasty spills that looked like they'd been left for quite some time.
Essentially, with a deep clean - there are no downsides.
If you are looking for a place that has a truly beautiful setting, friendly neighbors, great internet access, stunning view of river in the day, moon shimmering off water and clear stars at night, cooling breezes off the river, and a true old Florida feel. - THIS IS IT.
What I wish I had known:
-Bring a flashlight if arriving at night. It gets very dark at night - we have a dog and needed a flashlight at night to clean up after him :)
-Bring charcoal
-Bring dishwasher detergent
-Bring drinking water. (The tap water was in keeping with most of Florida in that it didn't taste or look great!)
Enjoy the magic of this place.

Nice view of the Indian River Waterway
The porch looking out to the water is the best part of this place. It's a little shabby inside and could use a deep clean. Otherwise the house had plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs.
