We had a wonderful day, house was local to everywhere we wanted to be and loved that we could walk over next-door to devils backbone for dinner. House was beautiful, clean and well kept. Looking forward to staying here again.

Excellent Stay and Wonderful Venue

All of the concerns about the dishware, cleanliness, etc., were addressed at the time of our stay. Beautiful home on a beautiful, quiet property within a short walk to a great brewery, not much more to say!

Great stay

Our group was a few families staying for a friends 40th. Place is nice and big with plenty of room. It is conveniently located within alking distance to Basecamp, with lots of activities to do. It provided a great experience for us all! Recommend for larger groups for special occasions.

The house is beautiful. We loved that it’s walking distance to Devils Backbone restaurant. We had a great dinner there. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax on the property. And amazing views from all sides of the home. It took us about 17 minutes to get up to Wintergreen to enjoy the resort. I didn’t realize that one of the twin rooms was inside of one of the Queen rooms. I will book this house again in the future.

Perfectly fit our needs

Great place inside and out. Plenty of room for activities, visiting with good friends, relaxation, and sleeping arrangements. Beautiful location and convenient to brewery as well as stores for supplies. Everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the venue.

Christmas 2023

Had an absolutely wonderful time here for Christmas with the family! When we arrived we were surprised to find a decorated Xmas tree and some other cute decorations! The house was great for cooking Xmas dinner and fun and board games with the family. We took a couple hikes at Wintergreen and saw the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Very convenient next door to the brewery! Great place to stay!

Beautiful Hideaway in the Hills

Gorgeous spacious house with beautiful views. Great kitchen stocked with all of the necessaries needed. Plenty of wood stored in the garage for building a fire in the fireplace. Lots of beds. Easy path to walk to the brewery.

Effect location

This is 3rd time the family has stayed here. Its a big enough house for large groups. We only had 10 but can handle more. Absolutely will book again. This is the first time it snowed and it was beautiful.

Wonderful getaway for our family of 10!

There was an issue with the ac in master bedroom first night which was promptly fixed by the next day. A few open windows and we were comfortable without it that night. The home exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back!

Perfect for the boys weekend / bachelor trip

What an incredible property this is. The location, yard, amenities and house itself are truly awesome. We were a quick three minute walk from the distillery and restaurant but it seemed we were in the middle of the mountains with nothing but the trees and skies to see in every direction. The deck, firepits and cornhole give you plenty of reasons to get outdoors and the house has so many huge windows it almost feels like you’re outside even when you’re in. We will stay again and definitely recommend you do as well. You won’t regret it.

Wonderful

This is my 2nd year renting for family’s Christmas. Kitchen is well stocked. Only suggestion is non-stick frying pans (very difficult to clean) or bring your own. The fireplace was very nice, just needed kindling & some newspaper. It’s very convenient to breweries & wineries etc. I plan to rent again next year.

Spacious home

This family has been getting together annually for last 8 years. This was the best home I have rented. Plenty of space for meal, games, enjoying special conversations and laughs. Some family went skiing at Wintergreen and we visited breweries, wineries & cideries very close by. Only suggestion is listing of kitchen amenities (e.g. needed scouring pad, sponges & dish towels). Recommend bring crockpot, electric griddle or fry pan. Thank you

We love Devil's Backbone

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this property and each year we hope some changes have been made. Unfortunately, the house is not overly clean. The refrigerator and freezer were sticky and had crumbs, there were hundreds of dead flies in the living room windows, and the lights were covered in dust :( The bedding was clean and so were the bathrooms. The location of this house could not be more perfect if you enjoy visiting Devil's Backbone! We absolutely love this brewery!

This is 4th year we have rented this house. It’s very convenient for our families from Richmond & South Boston. The only suggestion is to replace the light bulbs in the downstairs bathroom with 2 over each sink, they flicker off and on, and so do the ones in the twin bedroom on night stand & dresser. Very annoying. There were no dishwasher pods available so started dishwasher without any. Also higher toilet or hand rails would be great addition to 1/2 bath because nothing to help off low toilet. Otherwise it’s perfect!
