With no neighbors or traffic, the only sounds with be of Ozark Mountain wildlife and nature. The late owner, Dewey Dill, built the house and used the secluded location to work his moonshine business. There is a school bus cleverly hidden (buried) behind the cabin where Dewey hide his still. Take a trip into the history of the Ozark Mountains.
What makes this Cabin unique
Nature lovers and hunters alike will enjoy this location. The town of Marshall nearby has one of the few remaining drive Inn movie theaters left in the United States today. The Kenda Drive Inn has great food and great people and makes for a fun and unique experience.

The roads are not marked well and are extremely rough! One of the people in our group had to actually park 5 miles down the road. One of the people along the road was kind enough to offer her to leave her car parked there. I had to pull a trailer with a anode and kayaks and I had to drive 5 miles per hour because of the rocky road.
I regret the cabin was too secluded for you. We let guests know up front on the website that the dirt road is nearly 5 miles. It is a county road and is maintained by the county but does get rough especially after a rain. They are usually fairly quick to respond when I call and let them know it's getting rough. I do feel the seclusion of the cabin and the views of the surrounding mountains are it's greatest attributes. There are no neighbors and the only company you'll have here are wildlife. If you are uncomfortable with gravel roads this is not the place for you! However, if you love the outdoors, enjoy hunting, fishing, and driving back roads, or just need a place to get away from this fast paced world, this is the place to do it.
Quiet and secluded!
The property has a great view of the Ozark mountains. Very cute and it even has a secret swimming hole tucked away down the mountain from the cabin at the Buffalo River. It takes a few minutes to get to the cabin and the directions can be confusing, but the property manager can better describe it over the phone. My only complaint is the flies are horrible in the mountains. So, bring fly repellent with you!!!!
Deep in the Ozarks!
Great cabin with views of all the surrounding mountains. Very close to the river.
Authentic, secluded and full of great views
Great place to stay for our girls weekend get away. We met our husbands who were camping on the Buffalo River one day and did a little kayaking ourselves. It was a little bit of a trek to get to the cabin from the main road but only made the memories more memorable. I would suggest an all wheel or 4 wheel drive SUV or Truck especially if the weather conditions are not favorable. The owners were very accommodating when we reached out to them for directions. The kitchen was a comfortable size but also make sure to bring your own cookware if your making full meals. Overall the experience was great and I would suggest this place to anyone who wants a simple get away.
We believe that our stay at Dewey's Cabin was the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of spring in the Buffalo National Wilderness. Quiet, secluded and only minutes from the Buffalo River Trail, this cabin has panoramic views of the mountains. The furnishings are rustic, tasteful and comfortable. We will definitely return to this secluded paradise.
Awesome place, great trails nearby
Had a great time! Would definitely stay again
