Why David Bundy chose Lewisburg
This is a great property to use as a home base to explore the Lewisburg area. It's cozy and comfortable yet full of quality and style. Our location is private even though it's steps away from the heart of downtown. We're new to the rental market and it's been carefully designed with the traveler in mind. Every review to date has been 5 Stars and the comments from our guests have been incredible: "This was my first experience booking and staying at an Air B&B. I had some concerns but our host David answered all of my questions and made my experience seamless. The bungalow FAR EXCEEDED our expectations from the moment we pulled in the drive. We were extremely impressed with how clean everything was and how modern it felt with the all new appliances and open floor plan. And the beds were unbelievably comfortable. We also really enjoyed the flatscreen tv over the fireplace and the decor was unbelievably cool. This bungalow actually gave me ideas for decorating my own house! I will most certainly book this bungalow with David again in the future as well as recommend it to my family and friends! Their hospitality was top notch and they went well out of their way to make sure our weekend getaway was one to remember!—Erik D." "We felt lucky to find this place - clean, beautiful, a great location, and the fireplace was so cosy and comforting during a winter visit. David was very kind and responded to questions quickly. Highly recommended!" "This place exceeded our expectations. Beautifully appointed, had a great kitchen to support a Thanksgiving dinner cooked on-site. Quiet and restful in the quaint town of Lewisburg. Within a short walk of main street and some nice little shops, and the oldest barbershop in WV. We will be back and recommend this place highly." The bungalow is just as pictured. Exceptionally clean, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed and pillows. It is light filled. Great location. Can walk to all the shops and galleries. The bungalow is exactly what I would like to down size to!
Thanks so much Eileen for the review. It was great hosting you and your husband - hope you’ll visit with us again soon in Lewisburg... we love our bungalow too!
Small town life
Loved it! Need handicapped bars in shower and toilet area. Need rubber elevated Matt at front door for wheelchair access.
The online pictures are exactly how this Bungalow looks and feels. Every detail thought out for your comfort. David was wonderful to work with. We will definitely stay again when returning to area.
We’re so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to hosting you again!
Beautiful home in beautiful Lewisburg
We loved our stay at this property. It was easy to walk to restaurants and sites in town. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable.
Clean and Comfortable place to make memories
We had a lovely stay in Lewisburg. The home was extremely clean and stylish. The appliances were high end and the beds comfortable. We appreciated the large washer and dryer so we could do laundry during our stay (a couple pods were provided which was nice). We had a lot of fun playing Mexican Train (we brought it) at the large kitchen table, and spent a lot of time working to finish that very challenging puzzle we found in the credenza. We wished there had been one more comfy chair and a DVD player for the evenings when we were ready to settle in. Perhaps these couple items will be added for future guests. If not, bring some games and books or go make a fire and enjoy time together outside.
For daytime entertainment, we went to Lost World Caverns and Organ Cave. I would highly recommend them both to anyone without mobility issues. They were quite different from one another, but both really fun. We also visited the Greenbrier for the afternoon. The bunker tour was far less than we imagined it would be; however, it was what brought us out this way and we are thankful for the introduction to this part of West Virginia. If we had had just one more day, we would have gone kayaking on the Greenbrier River.
The downtown area is neat. My expectations for where the home was located were a little off, however. I didn't realize that the house was so far off the main road. I imagined it was kind of in the heart of the shopping area. It wasn't far; it just wasn't the simple walk I was expecting. Also, the stores close pretty early during the week (by 5 or 6), so it's important to plan your day accordingly. Be sure to stop by Amy's for ice cream- we went there twice in our 3 day trip!
I would certainly recommend this VRBO to a friend if they were looking to stay in the area.
The property was beautiful. Probably the nicest VRBO we have stayed at. Modern with antique touches. Very nice. BUT house sets behind another building and can't be seen from the road plus it seems you are turning into the driveway of another house. Address is on a small post that is hard to see. Our GPS didn't help us. So it would have been helpful to have a few more instructions.
It was great hosting Ron and his wife - and we're truly sorry that they were unable to locate our bungalow. HOWEVER; they were sent a very detailed letter through the VRBO messenger service two days before their arrival carefully describing check in instructions and directions (INCLUDING PICTURES). The letter also included our telephone number (which they chose not to use). Not one of our guests through VRBO or AirBnB has experienced an issue locating our house. The guests had previously used the messenger service to inquire about our coffee maker. We reviewed our correspondence with officials at VRBO and they know that comprehensive directions and instructions were sent and evidently ignored. It's unfortunate that they chose to give "the nicest VRBO that they ever stayed at" only four stars because they didn't see the check in instructions.
