We both grew up by the sea, David in Ireland, Kathy in San Francisco and we always knew that however far away we moved from it, we would always come back. After we met in college, we traveled much of the world together. We saw Tahiti, Fiji, the Indian Ocean, the Great Barrier Reef, the South China Seas, but it was Maui and the stretch of beach in front of the Mahana that captured our hearts. We bought our first condo at the Mahana in 1977. Over the years, we returned to Maui and the Mahana for a month every summer. For our children, it was a second home. Now young adults, they still love coming back every chance they can. Once you have been to the Mahana, you’ll want to come back too!

Why Kathy chose Kaanapali
We fell in love with the Mahana in 1977. We were walking along the North Kaanapali Beach. The sun was setting between the islands of Lanai and Molokai. It was the most amazing sight! We turned around and saw the Mahana. It was so close to the water and all of the condos faced the ocean front on with floor-to-ceiling ocean views. We knew right then and there that we had to buy one of these beachfront homes. For us it was the view and the view and the view! We bought our first Mahana condo (#818) then. We bought this condo (#708) in 2001 and our third one (#819) in 2004. Today, after all of these years, we still love coming back as often as we can!
What makes this Condo unique
For us it’s a home away from home. In winter we love watching the whales, in summer it’s the dolphins and turtles. I love getting up to see the dawn coming up over the ocean. My husband is mesmerized by the stars. We all enjoy walking or jogging on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water below, exploring all the other nearby beaches, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, Fleming Beach, Honolua Bay. We also love going to the Farmers market for fresh papaya and mangos and finding local fish to grill back at the Mahana. It’s the majesty of the ocean and the mountains. It’s the trade winds and the friendly people. It’s something else -totally special - that is just impossible to describe. You have to come to Maui and the Mahana and you will experience it yourself!

The condo was great! Perfect location and size. It had everything you could need. The whale watching from the balcony was amazing!
Not a day goes by without rainbows!
From the second we arrived at the building and went through a very easy self check-in, we were very pleased with the overall bldg.. When we opened the door to our fantastic condo, we were overwhelmed. You're automatically pulled to the window because you cannot believe the spectacular view. The layout of the rooms is also wonderful because you have a constant view of the ocean. The furnishings and attention to detail make this a place you would want to come back to. It had all the comforts of home and then some. We spent 10 days being lulled to sleep by the sound of waves.
What could be better than that!
We would definitely, HIGHLY recommend this wonderful home away from home.

Amazing View, Fantastic Condo!
We had an incredible time staying here! The views are unreal and every time we came back to the condo we were in awe! The condo itself is beautifully furnished, clean and has pretty much everything you would need to live. They even have beach chairs and bogey boards and a cooler which was super convenient!
We have been in Maui several times. This is the best unit that we have lived in!
The unit is just like the photo showed. It is beautifully decorated and has a full ocean view. We really enjoyed to have breakfast in the balcony. The sunset is also magnificent. The owners are very thoughtful and the unit has everything that you need.
Our first impression when we walked into this condo was how immaculately clean it was. We have been to the Mahana on numerous occasions. This is by far the nicest one we have
stayed in. The seventh floor in the Molokai tower was quiet, convenient and restful. The furnishings were very nice. The king bed was excellent, very comfortable. The weather was warm, but the air conditioning in the unit kept us cool. Kathy (owner) was very responsive from making the reservation to the final moment of our stay. Overall, it was a very nice relaxing vacation. We would recommend this unit to anyone coming to Maui. Mahalo!!!!

I try to book new guests for the day or day after another guest departs or leave a 7-day span between bookings since that is what most guests want.
