Welcome to our private, modern, cozy chalet located in exclusive Coolfont Mountainside. We have two large bedrooms and bathrooms, screened in porch, two decks, wood stove, hot tub and a one of a kind custom light fixture that sets the mood for the perfect escape to the mountains. Aptly named "Ode to Joy" you will find much needed joy should you choose to stay at our one of a kind retreat nestled in the Cacapon Mountains in Berkeley Springs. Ode to Joy is a renovated A Frame Cabin located at the end of a private road in the community of Coolfont Mountainside in Berkeley Springs WV. We made sure our place was unique - Its by far The Coolest Cabin in Coolfont! Featured on Cabin Porn and many travel blogs on Insta. Traditional A Frame with two bedrooms two bathrooms. A tiny but functional kitchen with smaller appliances (fridge, stove pots pans and dishwasher). New sofa ( June 2021), laundry and even a wine fridge!
Our BRAND NEW (April 2021) PRIVATE hot tub is open YEAR ROUND. Our wood stove is operational Oct 15-March 15. Coolfont neighborhood features a resort restaurant , walking and hiking trails , a seasonal lake with fishing, kayak, and paddle board rentals. Community pool ( Memorial to Labor days), tennis and is a short walk to a local brew pub for a pint and a bite (Berkeley Springs Brewing Company and Coolfont Resorts Treetop restaurant). If you want more adventure we are just a short car ride to the spas, dining and shopping of Downtown BS, The C and O canal in Hancock for mountain biking and running and Cacapon State Park for hiking, golf, mountain biking and the lake. Whitetail resort is a 30 min drive for skiing or boarding. Be sure to look at all of our pics - your next vacation should be here! Please note we do not have a fire pit as fires are not allowed on Cacapon mountain due to the density of the forest and the pool is open in 2021 . In winter you may need 4 wheel drive in snowy conditions. It snows often in the WV mountains and we are not able to cancel or move reservations because of snow so please be prepared before booking.
YOU MUST MESSAGE FIRST BEFORE BRINGING A PET - EXTRA FEES APPLY $50 pet fee. Only dogs allowed and one dog max. Our kitchen is small - just enough for a short stay.
We have great local restaurants to check out within walking distance! Coolfont is a quiet neighborhood in the woods so please respect the neighbors and wildlife when outdoors. .
Two cars max allowed in drive per HOA.
The TV's are both Roku set in guest mode for use with your streaming subscriptions only. Please note that as the mountain does not get cable or satellite - as stated - the internet can be spotty and is not ideal for heavy use. It’s a true mountain experience .

- No Children under 12.
- Guests must rinse off before using Hot Tub . If not followed you will be charged extra hot tub clean fees .
- PLEASE MESSAGE BEFORE BOOKING WITH A DOG (Dogs only please ) $50 fee one dog maximum .
- Quiet hours outside. Please respect our neighborhood and neighbors. It’s a peaceful retreat - Absolutely no events or parties .
- Minimum age renter is 28.
- EXTRA MESS = EXTRA CLEAN FEES.

- You will be charged for any damage incurred from misuse of the Hot Tub.
