We offer two separate vacation cottage rental units on False River with a private two story pier and dock for your boat. Each unit is rented separately. And the pier is shared by both renters. False River has become a popular place for boating, fishing, and various water sport enthusiasts across southern Louisiana. We are located approximately six miles from New Roads, Louisiana - the heart of Pointe Coupee Parish. False River is a 10.5 mile long "trophy lake." To be a "trophy lake" means that fish of a certain size are required to be thrown back to grow larger. False River has often held the state record for the largest number of striped bass per acre in the state. If you're into water sports, False River is a great place to go tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, boating, and jet skiing. Fishful Thinking is conveniently located to shopping, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and boat launches. The Boat launches are located at either end of the lake. The launch located on the northern end of the lake, is a free public boat launch with barbecue and picnic facilities. Satterfields is right next door and offers a fuel dock right on the water. Another boat launch located on the southern end of the lake is open to the public with a small fee to access. The Sandbar (bar and restaurant) is located south only 5 camps down from Fishful Thinking which also has a boat launch and gasoline on the water.
Nearby attractions include downtown New Roads (8 miles), St Francisville (15 miles), Baton Rouge (30 miles), and New Orleans (100 miles) from False River.
