Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time in Provincetown last week and enjoyed staying at your house there. The house was so comfortable and convenient and the wifi was great! It was a pleasure to leave the car parked in the driveway and be able to walk or bike everywhere. We enjoyed great cool and breezy weather and your wrap-around screened porch was the perfect place to sip wine, read a good book and listen to the rain which fell last Wednesday. The patio was surprisingly secluded despite the houses next door and the new grill was a plus. I would recommend installing a screen door off the kitchen because there were so many great breezes coming in that way, but I hesitated to keep the door open so as not to invite bugs in (or the neighbor’s cat from across the street!). Also got the chance to catch some entertaining films during the P-town Film Festival.

Thank you for offering the P-town house as a rental and for permitting dogs to stay as well. It contributed to many fond memories of P-town. I would recommend the house to anyone who is interested in a Cape vacation.

Location, Location, Location Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

OMG Where to begin? This house is located walking distance to anything. We were able to walk to everywhere we needed to go, we never felt the need to use our van. We rented a minivan since we were many people and at first we were afraid that we would surpass the amount of mileage allowed. Well, we brought the van back with still 400 km available. (we live in Canada)

As for the house itself, what you see on the net looks good but what you get is...AMAZING! It is HUGE, beautiful and comfortable (everyone had their own space when they needed it) and we all felt like we were living in luxury. The owners are so sweet too. They gave us all the information we were looking for to make our stay easier. I recommend this house, it was an amazing experience. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Perfect location with everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous property in a great location. Very well equipped and in excellent condition when we arrived. Owners left us some great tips for visiting around the area along with many brochures and recommendations! It's a very quick walk in to town and the house is located on a quiet street. It's also a quick walk to the local grocery store. We biked the Provinceland Trail almost every day and hit up Herring Cove and Head of the Meadow beaches - both a quick 5-10 minute drive. It was sunny and hot every day, so that central air helped immensely...

The house had everything we needed for a great stay. Plenty of kitchen gadgets, an outdoor grill and a fabulous back deck! We also really enjoyed the screened in front porch when the mosquitos came to visit. All 3 bedrooms were clean and towels were left in each room for our use.

We would highly recommend this property and the owners were very easy to work with - responsive and helpful. We hope to return in 2018 :)

Sincerely,

the girls!

Great house: clean, spacious, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Return trip to P-Town and to this rental. Love this house and its location! Walked to Commercial Street to enjoy our favorite restaurant "Front Street". Sat on the beach to enjoy the 4th of July fireworks. Participated with friends on a Dune Tour where we had dinner on the beach, watching the sun go down and seals swimming just off shore. Definitely recommend this rental!

Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Heart of Provincetown! The house is amazing and it has everything that we needed for our stay. The location is perfect, only a short walk to all the restaurants and shops as well as the supermarket. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family should they want to go to Provincetown. I'm looking forward to going back next year!

Problems Need To Be Addressed

  • 2 of 5

I am sorry to say that we did not enjoy our stay. We found the following problems in the cottage upon our arrival:

1. Cob webs on the ceilings in every room. We could tell the cob webs were not new because they were black—they’d been there a while.

2. Bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. It appeared the cleaning service just wiped down everything, but it still presented as dirty.

3. Floors were not swept, nor vacuumed.

4. Sheets were not washed. They smelled, and had hair on them. We had to wash them before we could use them.

5. Mouse droppings on the upper landing in the stairwell to the basement where the washer/dryer is located.

We would recommend the following:

1. Change the sheets to cotton, not polyester. The sheets were so hot and uncomfortable that we could not sleep in them, and had to sleep on top of the covers.

2. Upgrade the beds’ dust mite covers. They crackle loudly whenever you roll over in the bed.

3. Towels are tattered, and need to be replaced.

4. Do a deep and thorough cleaning before the next rental.

5. Get a new cleaning service.

On the positive side, the cottage is spacious, and in a very quiet area of the west end of Provincetown. Access to Commercial St. is easy by walking or biking. The Stop and Shop grocery is extremely close.

The cottage has a ton of potential, but until the above is addressed, I would not recommend renting this cottage.

Owner's Response: Wow! After reading this review we thought we were living in an alternative universe. We realize you can’t please everyone, but apparently It was our time to get the bitter apple out of the cart. We have been opening up our home every year for the past 9 years and have had solid 5 Star Reviews hands down and can attest that the commentary left behind is simply not true and is disheartening to read. To our guest’s credit, they did reach out to me on the evening before check-out (6.5 days later) to provide feedback on the fabric on the sheets (they got into rotation by accident with our cleaning crew) and to let us know there were some dust bunny/webs in our vaulted ceilings which has been addressed. Why they didn’t let us know of any of their concerns upon check in is a mystery to us as we would have made it right as we value all our customers and take feedback very seriously. We wish them all the best.
