About Karen & Michael Lucht
Karen & Michael reside in Michigan and have been married since 1976. We first discovered St. John and Coral Bay in 1990 while on a short visit to St.Thomas. We first stayed on St. John in 1992 in a small cottage in Coral Bay near Hurricane Hole. This became our refuge/retreat for several years while we contined to discover the island and the island culture over the next several year's visits.
Karen & Michael Lucht purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Karen & Michael Lucht chose Seagrape Hill
We continue to be attracted to St. John by the overwhelming natural beauty of the National Park beaches, the fact that it is a U.S. island and the West Indian people and culture. Coral Bay in particular is a very friendly and relaxed close knit community.
What makes this Villa unique
Intimately secluded, villAllure is nestled into the hillside for ultimate privacy and quiet enjoyment.

Sea Grape Hill View
Beautiful view from high atop Sea Grape Hill. Road is paved all the way to the drive. Lots of stairs down to the home. Nice covered area pool side with a view of Coral Bay and Tortola.
Both kitchens are fully stocked with glass and dishes and utensils. We spent our time in the newer section of the home as that served our group best. Large master bedroom with walk in shower. The vanity is too deep to get up close to the mirror to shave or put any makeup on if you put makeup on. The home was clean. The furniture was comfortable.
Thank you for your review on your stay at villAllure, we really do appreciate it!! The other view from the pool deck is Hurricane Hole, it's part of the National Park. We hope you have beautiful memories from your stay. We would love to have you stay with us again in the future.
Sincerely, Michael and Karen
Stayed with several other couples for a total of 8 people, did not feel crowded at all. The view was spectacular as was the villa. Loved the deck that extended the length of the house with tables outside for alfresco meals. Smaller decks/tables for a more romantic feel or a nap in the hammock. Will definitely go back!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. We really appreciate it and are always happy to hear our quests had a great experience at villAllure.
Beautiful home with spectacular views!
This home offers 5 bedrooms with the 3 bedrooms on the upper levels being superior to the 2 smaller ones below. The views of Chocolate Hole & Hurricane Hole are spectacular from the gigantic deck off the back of the house. The views & spacious living area are the highlights of this home.
There are a few negatives, however. The home is older & could use some TLC. It has 2 kitchens, one in the main house & one in the mother-in-laws apartment. The main kitchen is small & dated, but who cooks on vacation! The beach chairs & towels could definitely use an upgrade especially for older folks who might have trouble getting up.
Overall, this is a great house, well worth the cost to stay there!
Thank you so much for the positive review. We always appreciate reviews from our guests and we are happy to hear your enjoyed your time at villAllure. I would like to address a couple of your comments. The views from the villa is of Hurricane Hole and Coral Bay not Chocolate Hole. The original owner was a gourmet cook so he designed the kitchen for his use. Other then new cabinets the kitchen has all new appliances except for the stove top. I apologize for the beach chairs, I am not sure what keeps happening to them. There are six new high back chairs that were derived right after your stay. As far as the beach towels they have a way of disappearing. Those too have just been replaced after your stay. We are constantly doing upgrades and trying to improve the villa. We just had the whole outside painted and all the mahogany re varnished. Please give us any other input to make your stay and the villa better. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future. Thanks again, Karen and Mike.
Beautiful property, would book again
We just got back from a stay at villa allure and are missing it already. There were seven of us, two couples and three adults. The villa gave us plenty of private space as well as huge communal areas to hang out comfortable.
There are definitely a lot of stairs, so be prepared for that, but everything else was wonderful. I do feel like it's probably a better rental for adults and older children versus families with young children.
House was clean and well stocked with any kitchen item you could need. We had groceries delivered and the property manager worked with the grocery store to get the order to us seamlessly.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for your stay at villAllure. We really appreciate your positive comments and would love to have you stay with us again.

An Island Paradise
We just returned from an 11 night stay at VillAllure - enjoying every minute! The photos are amazing, but to be there is even better. There were 10 of us and the house is sprawling with more than enough room to be together or have some time alone. Our morning views, and coffee clutches, over Coral Bay were a great start to our day, and the evenings on the veranda or the open deck looking onto Hurricane Hole were a great wind down. We ate in several nights with a well equipped kitchen which made for wonderful meals. Other nights we enjoyed the local restaurants, notably Indigo at the bottom of the hill, brunch at Miss Lucy's and fish n chips at Shipwreck Landing. We swam and snorkeled at amazing beaches - Salt Pond, Jumbie, Maho, Francis Bay, chartered a sailboat for an afternoon/sunset and hired a private chef to cook an amazing meal at the house. What an experience! Karen the owner was so easy to deal with and extremely helpful with suggestions. Gwen, the property manager, was attentive to our needs and checked in to ensure we were set at various intervals. I would highly recommend the villa - it is your own mini resort with abundant decks, tropical gardens, secret hideaways, small pool, easy access to beaches with amazing snorkeling and a view to a kill!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a complementary review. We enjoyed having you as guests and I might add you were also easy to work with. I enjoyed our conversations back-and-forth. We would love to have you stay at villAllure again in the future.
great house and great views
we had two families with a total of 9 folks staying here. plenty of room for everyone and lots of areas to hang out. the views are great. we prefer coral bay over cruz bay and this house and location fit us perfectly. we loved sitting on the multiple balconies with the island breeze and relaxing. the owner was great with answering questions and making suggestions on places to eat. we would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for your stay at villAllure. Your complementary words are very much appreciated! We are very happy to hear you had a wonderful time and look forward to you staying with us again. Thanks again!!!
VillAllure is located on the National Park Island of St. John, a short ferry ride from St. Thomas. The area is serviced by numerous airlines including US Air, American, Delta, Jet Blue, United, Spirit and Continental to name a few. Many flights originating from the east coast are nonstop to St. Thomas arriving in approximately 3 1/2 hours. Flights originating in other areas generally require one connection. Upon arrival in St. Thomas, a taxi ride to the downtown ferry dock takes approximately 10 minutes while the Red Hook ferry dock is approximately a 45 minute ride. However, the ferry ride to St. John from each location is equivalent to the cab ride to the alternative ferry dock. Also, the downtown ferry's latest afternoon departures are at 4pm and 5:30pm while the Red Hook ferry runs every hour with the last departure at midnight. Once on St. John, a rental car will be preferred for the 20 minute drive thru the National Park to Coral Bay and up the quality concrete paved road, for your laid back private VillAllure Caribbean vacation to begin.
