También en este nivel hay cuatro habitaciones, una con dos juegos de literas y una habitación de matrimonio con un televisor que accede al baño completo. Dos habitaciones queen frente al mar, ambas con TV, comparten un segundo baño completo entre ellas. Todos disfrutarán de la gran sala del nivel superior con infinitas vistas al océano, cómodos asientos, comedor frente al mar y un televisor de pantalla plana. También hay un medio baño conveniente y un dormitorio principal con cama king y TV y vistas al océano azul claro. This property was pretty much exactly as expected after reviewing the other reviews, description and photos. It has a bit of wear and tear but nothing that reduced the quality of our vacation. It was clean (other than the salty windows which are usually cleaned at the beginning of the week at other homes we've rented). None of bathrooms were impressive but they were adequate. It has a Keurig, which is always a plus for me. The pool, although not heated, was still refreshing on the hottest days. The walk to the beach was better than other oceanfront homes we've stayed at. For the price, I would rent it again.

Never ever will I stay with surf and sound again. After I FORCED to evacuate because of hurricane Erin I asked several times about a refund for the days/nights I lost out on. They avoided my questions and told me to contact the insurance company. REFUSED to answer questions after forcing my evacuation. When VRBO called on my behalf they said she signed a contract.... That was it! They told me I had to leave and didn't care about the fact that I was only there for a day and half. YES 36 HOURS! Out of 7 days.

Great Floor Plan, Has Problems

1) Great floorpan, just what we needed. 2) Terrible property management company. 3) Owners haven’t paid much attention to broken appliances, storage containers, etc. 4) Farther from beach than we realized.

Quiet location next to beach.

We enjoyed the ocean views from the house and a quiet stay with an easy walk to the beach. Check-in was automated and easy. There was plenty of space. The hot tub was nice. We did not use the pool though it was just opened and seemed to be working well. The house was comfortable for 2 families, and was spacious with enough kitchen utensils for us. The beds had torn sheets and was not comfortable. We brought our own sheets and linens, but would have preferred better beds and mattresses. We were provided only a single roll of toilet paper for a 4 bathroom house, but luckily we brought a few rolls ourselves.

Think Again Before Booking This Property!

My family & I rented this property for our 1st trip to OBX. We were very excited for our vacation! Upon arrival, I got an email that the house was clean & ready. 1st thing I noticed when getting out of the car was a lg animal turd by our garbage totes. While taking a tour around the house, we found some issues, some more disturbing than others. As stated on the listing, there are new owners who have put fresh paint & brand new flrs throughout. In the main entry there was chipped paint & scratches all over the wall & on the stairs leading up to the 1st flr, there was molding already missing from one of the steps. The flrs were not cleaned, couldn't tell you the last time they actually were swept/mopped/polished. Beds were all askew, sheets/pads/bed skirts all a mess. One of the queen bdrms didn't have a comforter. Another queen bdrm had a tv that did not work. We finally got it to work after multiple attempts & rebooting the modem. Jack & Jill bath had pee stains on the bottom of the toilet. Under all beds was full of hair balls/dust & other peoples lost belongings. In the welcome bag one of the letters mentioned "be aware that the comforters are not regularly laundered". That is absolutely unsanitary & disgusting especially during this Covid pandemic. In the king bdrm, the ceiling fan light did not work, it looked as if someone stole decor off the wall, the prvt bath smelled like pee & the mirror was dirty. Also, under the bedside table there was a pile of hair big enough to be a toupee. We had to wash the majority of the blankets, in which two of them disintegrated. Kitchen counters were not cleaned, dishes were put away dirty, the glass shelving in the fridge were cracked & bowing & were also not cleaned. The pictures of the kitchen on the listing showed a Keurig & to our surprise it was not there. Eventually it was found in one of the cabinets but broken. We found someone's crushed water bottle underneath the great room coffee table. I know this property is dog friendly but if the house was really cleaned, we shouldn't have been surrounded by someone elses dog fur. Two Adirondack (blue) chairs on the deck were broken & by the end of the trip one of them completely fell apart. You must pack like you're camping. We went to SOS to report the issues so we were not blamed. The cleaners should be fired b/c they definitely didn't do their job & the owners should be ashamed that the house is being taken care of like this. I wonder if they even know!

We Won't Be Back

House met our families needs for space The walk to the beach is farther than expected and not easily done by the older people in our group. Cleanliness - Someone dropped something on the floor and I had to move the couch - it hadn't been swept under in months. Disgusting! Same for all of the beds. The kitchen also had the remnants of the last groups mixed drunks on the cabinets, wall and ceilings. House said it had a grill - the note on the fridge said there was a grill - no grill. Emailed Surf or Sound four times and called twice, never did get a call back or email response. Vacation at the beach with no grill - The pool was nice, but the furniture is old and rusty and there is no table or any shade at the pool.

Beach Play 706

The house was nice the location was beautiful. I’ve been staying at the outer banks many years and I just felt the owners of this house could go a little further to make it more comfortable.. Small touches go a long way , a small table on the deck with the chairs for your morning coffee , a corkscrew for your wine , more television choices than just basic cable for evenings and rain days, a fish cleaning table , a gas grill. Also the AC needed replaced and wasn’t working at 100% so there were window units and the replacement occurred on Friday of our stay and took hours. The man doing it was wonderful but that should have been done on Saturday between our departure and the next arrival . Like I said the house is nice but I wouldn’t rent it again
