Esta cabina recientemente renovada logra un equilibrio entre lo antiguo y lo nuevo. Lo actualizamos, limpiamos y refrescamos cuando fue necesario y dejamos la madera rústica siempre que fue posible. Limpio y cómodo es nuestro objetivo más alto y esta cabina no te decepcionará. Base perfecta para la aventura al aire libre. Dos camas individuales en una habitación y una cama de matrimonio en la otra. Esta cabaña también cuenta con una cocina completa. Justo enfrente del lago Barkley, la propiedad se une al parque estatal Lake Barkley. A menos de una milla del campo de golf Boots Randolph y a cinco millas de Land Between the Lakes. Una pequeña tienda de conveniencia en el lugar vende pizza de Hunt Brothers, sándwiches, cebo, gas, hielo, cerveza, etc. Tony y Karen (Propietarios) viven en la propiedad y se esfuerzan por asegurarse de que su estadía sea perfecta. Super friendly host with a lot of knowledge about the area. Laid back quiet environment with an easy check in and out process. Store on site. Highly recommend and will re use if I'm back in the area.

Good owners, good, rustic property

First off, I want to thank the owner and his family for being so kind to us. We scheduled last minute for a birthday/range weekend and they were happy to have us there. While there were some confusions at first, those fell more on Vrbo than FIR, so we cleared them up on the spot and things

Zero communication from host.No information sent regarding how to access the rental.Sent a message via VRBO day before arrival giving a heads up on our late arrival. No response.Sent another message via VRBO day of arrival regarding check in to the rental as I hadn’t received instructions. 3 hours later, still no response so I did what the VRBO site suggested which was to contact the host directly.The contact information listed on VRBO is the previous owners. He explained he had sold and was kind enough to give me the correct number to call.I called, explained I hadn’t received check in info and was told the cabin would be unlocked with the key on the counter. Fortunately, I had the foresight to ask what I was to do if the cabin was locked when I got there. I was told the owners live on site and I was given a cell number I could call. Cabin was locked when we arrived, no answer on the owners cell so we were knocking on their door at midnight so we could access the rental.The bath mat and tub mat were hanging over a railing outside, dog poop in front of the cabin, cobwebs everywhere and dead bugs inside the shower. Mold on the fridge seal. Given the wrong wifi password as well. Complete false advertising as the old owners pictures and walk through video is on VRBO and I booked based on that- not the mess I arrived to. Please look elsewhere for your stay in the Cadiz/Lake Barkley area.

Home away from home

We were looking for a quiet place to stay while visiting my daughter for family weekend in Murray. The owners are very responsive and friendly. We brought our dogs plenty of room to walk them.They have a store on site you can get hunts brothers pizza among other supplies. Would definitely stay again thanks for having us!!

not so good

No curtains on bathroom window and floor was sticky in bare feet. Not clean, used scented plug-ins to hide odors. The beds had plastic covers that made the sheets slide off every time I tried to turn over and the bedspreads smelled musky. No cell phone reception in the cabin; had to go out on front porch to use it. .

Great service.

The cabin was very clean, the manger/owner was very nice. We ordered some food from their store & they brought it right to the cabin steamy hot. The only down side to the stay was the bed. It was a hard mattress, I prefer something a little softer. All & all, it is a great place to stay & will stay again.

Cute, cozy & comfortable cabin

Recently planned a quick road trip to visit Kentucky. Looking for a reasonably priced place to stay & keep social distance. This cabin at Fish Island Resort fit right into the plan. Communication with the owner, Tony, was very good. The accommodation was in great condition: clean, cozy, comfortable & smelled fragrant too! No coffee maker but they had fresh coffee & other food offerings in their convenient little bait shop at entrance of the property. Very happy & satisfied with our stay, thanks!

WONDERFUL

My 12 yr old grandson and I were at Lake Barkley to celebrate with with other family. This cabin was perfect and the owners were very helpful. We were about 1 1/2 miles from state park and marina. Cabin was older but very clean and was perfect for us-- although it would sleep . We will definitely be returning

Diamond in the rough

This place was nice. Very quiet. When we booked this place we had expectations that didn’t all get met. The description said it had a WiFi, washer, dryer, and dishes were provided. When we arrived there was no washer or dryer and the only dishes were 1 paper plate, a few disposable bowls and several disposable cups. I was unable to get WiFi in the cabin but my Fiancé was only able to get it in one small area of the house. We were kinda dumbfounded and a little upset. But after talking with them we learned they had recently purchased the property and were working on renovating everything when COVID hit. So I wasn’t so upset after finding that out. The only suggestion I can offer though is to remove those items off the description on the website until they are available. The owners are super nice. We had caught fish and the owner gave us the opportunity to use the fryer in their restaurant kitchen. They’re willing to help out on anything you need help with. We know this place will be an amazing place once all work is said and done. And as I said before, it’s very quiet and relaxing. We do look forward to returning for another getaway.

My name is Tony Nolcox. My wife, Karen, and I live on the property. I have spent a lifetime in this area hunting, guiding, fishing, hiking, and camping. We raised our two sons in Cadiz and this is home. We both have degrees in agriculture from Murray State University and Karen teaches agriculture at Trigg Co. High School. Right now kayak fishing is probably my favorite way to enjoy the outdoors with an occasional elk hunt thrown in.

I saw this property was formerly a local icon that had fallen into disrepair. I'm big on being a part of the community and this is an opportunity to make something really nice again. Something that would add to the community. I also really enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. I love to hear stories about hunting and fishing trips or any outdoor adventure. This property is everything in one.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Fish Island Resort is located perfectly in the middle of Land Between the Lakes and right on top of Barkley Lake and the state park. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors from this location. I knew it was perfect. With the new four lane road coming through which will include hiking and biking lanes all the way across Land Between the Lakes, I really think this is THE place! Easy travel from I24 to our resort yet when you are here you are in a truly rural setting with wildlife all around.
