I am born and raised in New York City. I came to Puerto Rico and fell in love not only with the island. Also it's beautiful beaches and the diversification of natural wonders throughout the island. I also found a great souvenir my husband. I have been living on the island since 1983. I graduated from Wagner College on Staten Island. I have taken finance and management courses as continuing education.
Damaris Colon purchased this apartment in 2008

We spent a week at Aquatika and had a great time. We have a 19 & 14 yr old. Damaris is extremely helpful, she met us at the airport and was quick to answer all of our questions. The condo is well stocked and we were really happy to find everything you need for a day at the beach. The location is off the beaten path and you definitely need a rental car. We liked being centrally located to San Juan, Farjardo & the ferry. The rainforest is nearby as well as some amazing beaches. Visiting the Luquillo Public beach (about 15 min East) is definitely worth it. Calm, clear water. Visiting Pinones is a MUST. We wish we found this neat little beach town earlier in our trip. We rented bikes from the COPI and road about 7 miles down a winding boardwalk through the mangroves and along side some of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen. When we were done, we had lunch & mojitos in town. This was one of the best parts of our trip.
We're not big on touristy things so we pretty much stayed out of San Juan. We spent a day traveling along the east coast and found one of the BEST restaurants..The Las Vistas Cafe in Fajardo. We took the ferry over to Culebra one day. Not the best of days for us. The ferry was extremely crowded and somewhat political...the favor locals over the tourists and we almost spent the night at the dock. Look for an all day excursion...that visits the island. We saw one for $99 pp that includes food, drinks and snorkeling...we should have done this. All in all, it was a great vacation. PR has some of the prettiest water and it's great for the entire family.
This condo was clean and had all the amenities of home. The location was perfect; centrally between San Juan and Fajardo, with El Yonque close by. Great water park for the kids not to mention ocean front. The owner is very helpful and available for any questions one may have. I will definitely put this condo in my list of favorites. Thank you Damaris for a great stay.
My wife and I recently stayed at this rental. It is a 2nd floor apt next to the ocean in a gated Aquatika complex. We found the landlord Damaris to be very good to work with and very cordial. Everything was as promised. The grounds include a mini golf course and pools. Kayaks are available as well. The grounds are very well maintained and secure. When we were there, it was as if we had the place to ourselves. If you have children, it would work out very well. It is away from the rush of San Juan. We miss our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean already.
The property was lovely with wonderful amenities. It was clean and close to San Juan, the rainforest and a number of beaches. We appreciated the well appointed kitchen and grill on the patio. Damaris was very responsive and thorough in working through the details and getting back to me with any questions or concerns. We loved the serenity and the ocean views. Thank you for the use of your property!
My family stayed a week at this Loiza condo and had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect for us, it was very clean, spacious, and lived up to our high expectations. The condo is truly beachfront, and it is at a great location within the property- literally steps from the beach (other condos in the property could be a 10-15 minute walk to the beach). The beach is a private beach, and even though we visited during a holiday week, the beach was not crowded. Many times during the day we had the beach to ourselves.
We spent a lot of time on the balcony, and really enjoyed the condo. There was more than enough room for two adults and three children (ages 2, 8, and 11). The waterpark, all its pools, and the beach were perfect for the whole family. Our kids enjoyed snorkeling at the private beach, as there are several patches of reef in fairly shallow water. There was plenty to do and see within the confines of Aquatika. We packed way more than we needed, as the condo had beach chairs, a cooler, sand toys, boogie boards and balls (football, volleyball, etc.) to use.
We also found that the location in Loiza was perfect for our family. We were close to the rainforest, Loquillo beach, Fajardo (snorkeling boats), and close to San Juan. We did day trips to each of those locations, and had a great experience. A rental car is a must, and we did not have any problems driving (defensively) in Puerto Rico. The location was out of the tourist areas, so you actually feel like you are on vacation.
I can’t say enough about Damaris and her hospitality. She met us at our rental car location, and spent some time talking to us about the local events and gave us some advice to help us plan our week’s activities. In all it was a great vacation for my entire family- it was all that we had hoped for.
We booked this condo after some family members stayed in the same unit last year and gave it a glowing review. We were blown away by the unit itself, but also by its perfect location, with mountain views out one side, and overlooking the ocean out the front. Waking up to the sound of waves and hanging out on the deck was just wonderful!
Damaris was so helpful by first giving us suggestions for activities before we arrived, meeting us late at the airport, giving very detailed directions, and then checking in on us multiple times during our stay.
Everything was there that we could have ever needed and more. Our boys loved the wake boards and the hammock. There are beach chairs, a cooler to pack a lunch, beach toys, everything you could think to need in the kitchen and more. We really felt at home, but of course were having an amazing, relaxing vacation with the conveniences of home. We could have packed half of what we did because it was so easy to have laundry facilities right there. The grill was great to have a few dinners in after being gone on day trips. We used the pool nearest the beach the most because it was closest to the unit and was never very busy. It also has the best view of the ocean while relaxing in a beach chair.
Loiza was the perfect location to make day trips to the rainforest, Old San Juan, Las Cabezas, Fajardo and meals near Luquillo Beach (the kioskos are fabulous, especially La Parrilla!). Loiza looks a little rough on the edges, but we fell in love with the town. Visit the Ayala mask shop and local artist Samuel Lind if you get the chance. They are probably some of our most memorable parts of the trip! It's helpful to know Spanish to visit the Ayala shop but Samuel Lind is happy to speak Spanish or English. We felt very safe in Loiza as well as on the grounds at the condo. We want to return to discover more in Puerto Rico and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
