Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4), Hot tub, Pool Table & Fire pit

Sweet Retreat is perfect if you are looking for a quiet and private get-a-way. The kitchen is fully stocked for everything you may need to cook with. The living room has a cute love seat (with 2 recliners built in) and oversized log chair that sits right in front of the gas fireplace for you to enjoy in the cooler months. The 42" flat screen is above the fireplace and perfectly located so you can enjoy throughout all of first floor, by lying in the comfortable queen size log bed (with feather topper) you can enjoy a movie or just watch some TV. Upstairs you have a full size private bath.

The kitchen area has a table and chairs. Right off the living room you can go outside onto the upper deck and enjoy the view of Mt. Yonah. Grill out on the gas grill. Patio seating for 4 is provided on the upper deck, plus rockers. Sweet Retreat is a heavily wooded lot with plenty of privacy. Once you go downstairs you will see an amazing comfortable king size bed with feather topper. Once you get in bed you will never want to get out. You also have a large flat screen TV mounted on the wall. While in bed you'll see the view of Mt Yonah. There is also a full bath down stairs for your convenience. If this has not convinced you to book your reservations now then how does a huge hot tub on the private patio overlooking the amazing views sound? There is also a pool table downstairs if you like to have a little fun while staying in.

On the oversized front porch you can enjoy the gas fire pit while sipping a glass of wine, cup of coffee or sharing stories. When finished, simply turn it off and go about your day or evening.

Keep in mind the many places to see and activities offered in Helen that are close by. A few places to visit while you are in Helen is Sautee Nacoochee and when you are here make sure you stop by the Old Sautee Store, built in 1873. The entrance is like a museum and everything remains in the store as it was when it closed down in the early 1900's. Travel the Georgia Wine Hwy. Take in the Gold Rush town of Dahlonega with just about a 30 minute drive. Of course, Anna Ruby Falls and Unicoi State park are just a 10 miles drive or so to the North side of Helen. There are many water falls in the area including one called Dry Falls, just inside the N.C line. This one is unique in that you can walk behind the waterfall under the rock overhang. Beautiful site! Take time to visit Smithgall Woods and Tallulah Gorge and walk across the swing bridge. Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia. Beautiful!

We have provided a complete Picnic Pack for your convenience that is located in the cabin. Take this along with you for the day and enjoy the beautiful sites that the North Georgia Mountains have to offer. Check out georgiatrails com for more suggestions of places to see. You'll want to return for many years to come, as many of our guest do.

About Patty Stanton

We have been using VRBO for several years and have had so many wonderful guest. Unfortunately, we never actually meet in person so this may help you get to know us a little better. We have always enjoyed the peace and quiet of the mountains in North Georgia, Blue Ridge mountains and all areas surrounding. It's a great opportunity to get away from cell phones, computers and demands of everyday life and enjoy nature. There are so many wonderful waterfalls and picnic areas. It's a great opportunity to visit all of the wineries along the Georgia Wine Hwy as well. This seems to be a very special trip for families as children get to experience so much of nature in an unhurried time frame. We hope you enjoy your time here as much as we enjoy ours.

Why Patty Stanton chose Cleveland

More, now than ever before, I really appreciate the cool nights in the N. Georgia Mtns and large shade trees. Not terribly far from Atlanta, but it feels worlds apart. It always makes us slow down a bit and just enjoy life when we travel to the area. Refreshing.

What makes this cabin unique

While we are staying in our cabin, we always enjoy hiking up to Anna Ruby Falls and walk to the top. It's so close by and it's a great way to start our morning. Occasionally, we'll take day trips to Tallulah Falls and go on into N. Carolina to Dry Falls, Bridal Vail Falls and many more along the way. We are also close to Brasstown Bald and Clingman's Dome. There is just so much to visit and enjoy, you have to remember not to book your time too full, so you can just relax and enjoy the quiet times.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cottage is very tastefully decorated and clean as a whistle. All of your needed supplies for the kitchen are there including pots, pans, utensils, coffee, elegant teas, etc. The hot tub is great! The pool table was fun despite the fact that due to space a shortened cue has to be used for some shots. We had a fun evening downstairs with Satellite radio, pool, and the hot tub. Beds were comfy and warm. The only possible negative is that there is no clothes closet and little place for the upstairs guests to put clothes away or have suitcases. There is a closet inside the bathroom upstairs, but not much room there. Great location and lovely space.

Perfect, cozy getaway in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our 5 day stay at this little cabin! This trip was for our 5 year wedding anniversary and it was amazingly perfect. The cabin had plenty of space, both indoor and outdoor, for relaxing and enjoying nature. We spent our days watching movies in front of the fireplace, playing pool in the basement, hanging out in the hot tub and relaxing on the front porch by the fire pit. When we had a problem with the fireplace, we called that morning and it was fixed by the time we got back that night. We got lots of recommendations from the previous guests in the guestbooks (which I highly recommend reading) for fun activities and restaurant suggestions. We spent the day in Helen one day which is only a 15 minute drive away and then found a hiking trail another day. We will definitely be back soon and have already recommended this house to all of our family and friends for a great getaway!

Wow!! I mean...just wow!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for my 5th anniversary and have never stayed in a cabin before. It was so nice and refreshing. Literally everything we needed was there. The cabin was clean, private, and oh so comfortable. It was better than any hotel or accommodation. It instantly felt like home. I was so sad to leave but will definitely be back and using Georgia Vacation Rentals again. Yonah the cat was really cute and a great surprise as we pulled up. She never tried to go inside and didn't bother us at all. The driveway was a doozy but doable in a mid sized sedan. Used the hot tub and grill. A little chilly downstairs even with the fireplace so if you are a "I'm cold!" person, bring a microfiber or thick blanket. I loved, loved, loved this place. So romantic and dreamy!
