Amazing house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at Rancho Privado for a week over the Christmas holiday. It’s a beautiful house with 3 bedrooms in “the big house” and 1 real bedroom in the smaller attached house. The bunk beds were in a “room” that was more of a closet, but probably would have served well for little kids. We were 11 adults so we had to make some adjustments.

This house was stocked with everything anyone could need and with the addition of a second kitchen to utilize in the small house, we were able to do a great Christmas dinner with almost everyone cooking. We enjoyed the hot tub, and sitting outside by the pool drinking wine before dinner. The owners were extremely quick to respond to any questions we had. We certainly had a memorable Christmas in Tucson this year with lots of sightseeing, activities and a wonderful place to come home to at day’s end. Thank you!

Beautiful, roomy home

  • 5 of 5

This home was lovely. It is actually two houses in one, so there is a ton of space for a large group. The mattresses were comfortable and all of the amenities worked. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, pans, appliances, etc. The location is very convenient to Sabino Canyon and the West part of Saguaro National Park. They have miniature donkeys that are a hoot.

If you are very sensitive to nighttime noise, bring ear plugs. There are a lot of animals in the neighborhood that do make noise at all hours.

My only complaint is that the landing page for the property does not make it clear that the pool is only heated from about March to November and is an extra $35 per day for the heat. We were a bit disappointed that only the hot tub was available this time of year because we specifically looked for a place with a heated pool. I guess it is standard that nobody heats pools in the winter in Tucson, but that wouldn't be common knowledge to a visitor. So, I hope they change their information to reflect this fact.

Otherwise, truly wonderful and I'd stay again if I had a large group.

Luxurious getaway retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect setting for our family vacation- spacious, clean, secluded, with wonderful amenities! We loved the patios and pool and hot tub. This place was fantastic with multiple dining and seating options, inside and out. The house is charming with a sweet southwest style. It felt like we were in our own private resort, yet it was minutes away from great restaurants and the city. It's beautifully decorated with plenty of room to relax. The well-equipped kitchen was perfect for cooking. The kids enjoyed feeding the burros and the grandparents enjoyed watching birds on the beautiful garden-like yard. Thank you to our host, Lisa, for her helpful orientation. We couldn't have asked for more!

Christmas get away with the family

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for the week between Christmas and New Years Day. It was perfect for us, we had two families, 9 guests, 5 which were college age. We loved everything about this home, from the great hot tub, the two kitchens, the wood burning fireplace and the donkeys. The home is on about 5 acres, I think... it is tuck away..it is hard to find when you first arrive, kinda behind another home. Great location for us, we biked up Mt Lemmon, which is only up the street and a short drive to the many miles of hiking trails in Tuscon. We found great places to eat and a wonderful place to practice hot yoga. The home was clean and had lots of places to sit and relax and enjoy the Tucson bright sunshine. The owners were great! This is a excellent choice for larger families, great place to stay!

A Beautiful Family Place (Even in Summer!)

  • 5 of 5

Our family gathered in Tucson, all 9 of us, for a special occasion. People thought we were crazy for going in the summer! But what a beautiful place. Everyone thought it was perfect. The kids loved the donkeys, who were so sweet. We had plenty of space to be together - or apart. The bed space and bathrooms worked out really well. It was located so well for getting around Tucson for shopping or sightseeing. The owners were very hospitable and accommodating. This is definitely a place we would stay again. The outside areas and pool were fabulous and so many great places for picture taking. We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended.
