About this property

The Blue Cottage located in the woods on Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn GA

Located on beautiful Lookout Mountain, on a property surrounded by lots of trees and nature. The cottage is nicely designed and decorated, in a very comfortable, contemporary way. Bright and colorful.

Deer frequent the property, adding beauty to the surroundings. A variety of birds provide hours of bird watching. Summer months are wonderful for enjoying the many species of butterflies.

While at the cottage, you'll feel like you're a million miles away, yet, you're conveniently located to the attractions of Chattanooga, Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain. Majestic views of the valley and incredible sunsets are a short walk from the property. The Lookout Mountain Flight Park (hang gliding launch site) is just at the end of the driveway. Rock City, Ruby Falls, Point Park and beautiful Cloudland Canyon State Park are all within a short drive.

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but no more than two are allowed. No aggressive dogs and no dogs that bark a lot. Dogs cannot be left unattended in cottage unless in a crate and must be own a leash when walked. They must be walked along the driveway and not allowed to use the backyard as a bathroom, its too small a space. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Prior permission must be obtained.

Please Note: Do not use gps to locate driveway, it's inaccurate. Instead, use the directions below and make sure you see the correct 3 mailboxes at the end of the driveway.

7122 Scenic Highway will be the first driveway on the left just past the Lookout Mountain Flight Park (hang gliding)when heading south/southeast on Scenic Highway. Scenic Highway is also highway 189 and Lookout Mountain Parkway. There will be 3 mailboxes at the end of the driveway (7126, 7124, 7122). MAKE SURE 3 MAILBOXES WITH THE CORRECT NUMBERS ARE VISIBLE BEFORE TURNING ONTO THE GRAVEL DRIVEWAY. If you do not see the these specific three mailboxes, do not go down the driveway. Once you turn onto the driveway, stay on the driveway, keeping to the left until the driveway ends. The Cottage will be obvious. Park at side. If you have any problems finding it, call me, 423-432-3371.

Birthday Getaway 2025

I absolutely love The Blue Cottage. So peaceful and convenient to lots of outdoor activities. This is my second visit to the cottage and I’ve enjoyed it both times.

Great Place to Stay

We loved the cottage but we were disappointed to discover the hot tub was not operating. It was included in the photos on the website so we thought it was part of the deal, and we were so looking forward to it. Other than that, we loved staying at the cottage.

Fabulous!

The cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped! It was beautifully situated bqck off the road, so very private and quiet. At the end of the road was the most awesome view ever! It was about 20 to 25 minutes down the mountain to shops and restaurants. However, there were many things to do and see within 10-15 minutes away. Very close to Rock City, Ruby Falls, etc. We would definitely like to return to the Little Blue Cottage!

Wonderful Little Place!

It was a gem! We loved the swinging bed, hot tub, kitchen, living area. Location on the bluff close to Cloudland Canyon State Park & Lookout Mountain was tremendous. We loved our stay & time there!

Perfect location

What a great place to stay! This cute cabin was perfectly located to access all the Lookout Mountain hikes and easy access to Chattanooga. Natalie was an awesome host and responded to all our questions within an hour or less. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Little Blur Cottage

We were very happy with our stay at this place. Everything was super clean and the decor was so adorable. We watched deer grazing around property every morning. We would definitely stay there again.

This adorable blue cottage style house was just what I was hoping for, so close to cloudland canyon and not too far from Chattanooga! We loved how comfortable it was and welcoming.

Fabulous!

We needed a little getaway to just relax and enjoy each other's company and the cottage was the perfect place for that. The space was cozy and we felt at home. We hope to make this an annual trip for years to come.

Peaceful and quiet

Very well appointed property in a very quiet, peaceful spor surrounded by nature. Master bed is comfortable, my granddaughter loved the swinging bed, and the hot tub was lovely.

Sweet little cottage in the middle of the woods

My sister-in-law and I wanted to “get away from it all” and this cottage was the perfect little spot. The house is so cute, the swinging bed in the loft, although creaky to lay down on, was very relaxing- especially to read in the morning while gently swinging. It was also nice that the hot water was quickly available and long lasting. We were only about 20 minutes or so from downtown Chattanooga and Ruby Falls and the views were spectacular. It was a great girls trip weekend! Natalie was wonderful to work with and someday we would love to come back!

Nice place

Great location from Cloudland Canyon and Chattanooga. We stayed there to hike Cloudland canyon. It rained all day on one of the days and we made a short drive into Chattanooga. The drive way is long and was good for walking our dog up and down. The house was great and had everything we needed for a couple of day stay.

Little Blue Cottage was better than expected.

My husband and I wanted a nice quiet house to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We found the perfect place. It was close to many attractions but far enough away that we had complete privacy. It was a lovely house with everything we needed.

Perfect ladies getaway

I took my mom and my 2 aunts (all in their 70s) to this lovely cottage for the weekend. I take them all over the country on trips but they said this one of their very favorites. The hosts attention to detail is second to none. Highly reccomend!😊

A petite cottage, perfect for 2, or parents with an older child or teen. That's because the single bed is upstairs in a loft. The only way up there is a very narrow spiral staircase. The single bed in the loft is suspended with ropes. The cottage is very remote and private. The garden is beautiful. The decor inside is artful with fun colors.Highly recommend going to watch the Hang gliders at the nearby Lookout Mountain Flight Park. It's just down the road and the views are incredible. The owner is attentive and is in communication without being intrusive. Maybe the magazines could be updated. Some were from 2017!

Cozy little cottage in the woods

My husband and I absolutely loved this cottage. It has everything you need to enjoy a quiet getaway. Beautiful flowering gardens surround the property, with a variety of birds, and woodland critters. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around porch admiring the views, and just taking it all in. We brought our two dogs with us, and they loved it as well. We were all very comfortable, and felt right at home. Definitely a must if you love a relaxing getaway.

Start of "My Life - Season 55"

The Blue Cottage was AMAZING and so much more than I expected! This was my annual ME Vacation for my birthday. I pick one of my bucket list items and find a place nearby to stay. This was the perfect spot. I went a little out of the way the day I was checking in and marked Gibbs Gardens off my list. The first two days at the cottage, I did nothing but relax due to the cloudy and windy weather. The last full day there was beautiful and I was able to visited Cloudland Canyon State Park and do the waterfall trail. Absolutely gorgeous hike and well worth the pain I'm feeling today. I definitely want to visit The Blue Cottage again. I'm thinking a Fall getaway might be in order. Thank you again for opening up your gorgeous place and making it so welcoming and relaxing! The Cabin in the Woods

If you are looking for a place to get away from the craziness of society, this is your place. This quaint little cottage is about as secluded as it gets. There are three dwellings on the property but they are even fairly secluded from each other. The cottage is small, but my family of four was comfortable. Both of my kids are under 5, though. It might be a tight fit if they were older. While we didn’t use the loft, the spiral stair case and suspended bed are a great addition to the property. The house was clean and stocked with essential supplies. Natalie communicated well and answered all of our questions. It’s important to note that this place is literally in the woods. Plan accordingly with transportation and bug spray. It is about a 20-30 minute, twisty drive to downtown Chatt, but it’s one of the most beautiful drives you’ll make, especially coming up the mountain for the first time and seeing the...well, I’ll leave that for a surprise. If you want quiet, secluded comfort, this is your place.

Very welcoming ..

The cabin is for dreamers, fantasy, and over all relaxation. It's very well equipped with eclectic furnishings...lots of color but wasn't expecting the beach scene...different but sweet. First day, there was a bit more traffic than we would have anticipated as we did not know the owners are just behind the Blue Cottage. To the right is another homestead that we clearly could see out the kitchen window. The outside is well taken care of...we had no use for the upstairs swing bed. My suggestion is a full bed instead. The inside was very clean when we arrived. After the first day, traffic was much lighter. One day the owners came and watered the plants and my husband and I were not comfortable with the lack of privacy in regards to vrbo's are usually not attended to by the owners. The owner did message us on vrbo, but on a vacation I don't check vrbo and it would have been nice to either waited to water the plants or asked us to, waited until we were there, or just came down for introduction. It made the remainder of the trip feeling our privacy had been over-stepped some what. There is a very skinny cat, you can feel its bones and I was very saddened of the condition of the cat. I wanted to feed it but wasn't sure that was a good idea. The hang gliding is at the end of the driveway, that was awesome. The other attractions are super close, maybe 15 minutes, a big plus. All in all, this was a nice vrbo, and we have stayed in several. I have never been asked to wash towels prior to checking out, usually its put the towels on floor, dont make bed...but again, these are small things. In the future we would stay here again, but we really like our privacy more than this beautiful cottage provided. It is put together with lots of love and soul. Thank you Natalie and Jim for allowing us to be part of your paradise...wish you all nothing but the best in life!!

Adorable, clean cottage. The backyard was our favorite spot to sit. You felt secluded but just minutes away from all we wanted to do. The host was easy to reach when we had a question about the WiFi. We had a rough time adjusting from our normal king size bed to a full size but overall, was our favorite place we have stayed thus far.
