Patons Rock Holiday Unit

Our comfortable two bedroom unit is located opposite Patons Rock Reserve, only 200 meters from the beautiful Patons Rock Beach, a very popular holiday location in Golden Bay. The open plan kitchen and lounge is fully self- contained, linen and towels are supplied.
Patons Rock is a small settlement only a 10 min drive from Takaka Township which has full retail services and 15 min to Collingwood . Patons Rock beach is safe for swimming, lovely for taking long walks, fish off the rocks or explore the rock pools at low tide. An ideal place for friends and families to enjoy. Alternatively relax on your own deck in our big garden and watch the birds in the fruit trees.
Central to the attractions of Golden Bay Patons Rock is within easy driving distance of Farewell Spit, the Heaphy Track and Kahurangi National Park the west and the Abel Tasman National Park with its golden sands to the east. The famous Mussel Inn known for its boutique beer, unique atmosphere and live music is only a few minutes down the road.

Restful Paton's Rock

We absolutely loved our stay at Paton's Rock and hope to be able to return. The ground floor unit was simple but very well equipped to cater for a family. Being so close to the beach, having the use of a BBQ and a deck in the peaceful garden was fantastic. The hosts were lovely and helpful and I'd be happy to recommend staying here.

Patons Rock does Rock

It was wonderful, relaxing, comfortable, interesting and great value for money. Gabriele was an excellent hostess and the spacious apartment with its facilities was perfect for us. AND on the right side of the infamous Takaka Hill, for those wanting to explore Golden Bay, Farewell Spit, Cape Farewell, Wharariki Beach, Pupu Springs, Abel Tasman Peninsula, and more.

Short walk to beach. Fun even in rain. Close to town so good local facilities. Inside was small but good layout. Bunk bed room was small and poor ventilation (perhaps owner would be better to reduce price for 3rd and 4th beds) Tiles throughout flat made for cold feel.

Paradise

We had a lovely stay at Patons Rock. The bunk bed was too small for my teenage son but he enjoyed sleeping on the fold out lounge. A fan is needed in summer so we bought our own. Perfect size for a couple, 2nd room is small and entrance is through the main bedroom. We used the bbq and lots of cooking utensils are supplied in the kitchen, fridge is a bar size. We bought too many groceries in Nelson but managed to fit them in the small fridge.

The description of our flat mentions that you enter the second bedroom via the first one. Regarding the fan - we have been renting our flat for nearly 20 years and it's the first time a guest needed a fan. The flat gets morning sun and it's usually cooler in the evening.
