MILL IN THE HEART OF CHARENTE-MARITIME (Furnished accommodation ***)

n Charente-Maritime, the Mill is located in a green nature by the water next to Dampierre sur Boutonne. This mill that has preserved its authenticity, welcomes you for your holidays in its authentic building of the 19th century, rehabilitated in house of 100m ² with a capacity of 7 people can reach 9 people maximum with the sofa bed.

Ideal for a group of friends, or family, in a preserved natural environment and away from other houses, the land (5,000 m²), surrounded by trees, is composed of islands connected by bridges. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to indulge in soothing walks, but also to practice fishing, canoeing … or simply to recharge your batteries in complete privacy because the mill and its outbuildings will not be shared with other holidaymakers.

Well located, it will allow you to discover beautiful sites very close such as Dampierre sur Boutonne (and its magnificent castle) 2 minutes by car with its local shops and its small farmers market, the animal park "Zoodyssée" located 10 km, Aulnay de Saintonge and its Romanesque art, Loulay 8 km and its swimming pool, Melle or Saint Jean d'Angely 20 km (architecture, swimming pools, discovery trails, arboretum, festivals). The Marais Poitevin (with its magnificent boat rides and marked circuits) is 40 km away. You are also less than an hour from La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré, but also from Rochefort (its rope factory, the Hermione…), Saintes (its Gallo-Roman remains) and Cognac. The Futuroscope or Puy du Fou at 1:30... Long is the list of discoveries and gourmet pleasures.

The mill is composed on the ground floor of a fitted kitchen (gas hob, fridge with freezer part, oven and microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, a steamer, fryer, food processor, coffee maker and coffee machine with pods type "Nespresso", an electric juicer), a living room including a fireplace, a Bluetooth speaker, a desk, a sofa bed 2 places and flat screen TV, internet (free wifi fiber connection).
At your disposal you will find books (English and French), hiking guides (on foot or by bike), IGN maps and documentation on the attractions of the region.
On the ground floor you will also find a bedroom with a bed of 160x200, storage as well as a bathroom with toilet, a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer.
The floor is divided into two bedrooms. On the landing, you will find a chest of drawers for easy storage.
One of the bedrooms has a bed of 140x190 with a bathroom, private toilet and storage.
The other bedroom includes a bed of 140x190 and a bed of 90x190 with a bathroom, private toilet and storage, as well as a TV.

Outside, according to your desires or moments of the day, you will find several garden furniture on the different terraces, but also a very large umbrella, a barbecue and deckchairs, a hammock and various games to entertain you (pétanque, molki, ping-pong table). Finally, you can put your bicycles in a shelter in an outbuilding of the Mill.

Outside, there is also a small vegetable garden in which you can of course take the various vegetables (zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, etc...), but also aromatic herbs.

Grocery store, bread store, guinguette, ATM and farmers market at 1 km, all shops and services, supermarket at 10 km, restaurants at 10 km, swimming pool at 10 km, medical practice at 10 km, exit A10 motorway at 20 km, TGV station at 30 km in NIORT.

The mill can only be rented by the week (Saturday to Saturday) during the summer period (from June 14 to September 20, 2025), as well as during school holidays. Outside the periods mentioned, the minimum stay will be 3 nights.

For your information, the boat seen in the photos is for private use for insurance reasons. However, you can bring your own canoe or paddleboard, you can rent canoes nearby; I will be happy to provide you with rental details.
