The Inn at Meadowcroft is located in a fully restored 1795 log cabin. The Honorable Jacob Swoope Suite has a large living room with a fireplace. The bathroom has a hand-hammered copper tub. The suite is decorated with period antiques. The room also has a queen-size bed. This room is ideal for your honeymoon, anniversary or simply relaxing. Jacob Swoope was the first mayor of Staunton, VA and we think he would have loved staying in this room.
With your room you also receive a plated breakfast served at 8:00am-9:30am served in our on-site dining room. We are happy to accommodate your low fat, restrictive, or vegetarian dietary restrictions. Please give notice when you book your room.

Phenomenal in every way! The beautiful and cozy log cabin with a beautiful big copper tub, the fireplace, the comfy bedā€¦ā€¦ Bill and the ladies were so kind and personable! And breakfasts were scrumptious! The inn made a wonderful base for doing all the fun things we planned for our 5 day stay. Sure hope to be back!

anniversary escape

We were looking for an overnight escape from our hectic careers and discovered this bucolic place just outside of Staunton. Everything was exactly as advertised; Wonderful hosts that go out of their way to exceed your expectations. We will be comcing back for a full weekend!

Perfect place for Thanksgiving

Wow! The inn was so lovely. We stayed in the special Mayorā€™s cabin and it was well worth it. Comfortable bed, great fireplace and bath tub was to die for. The location was spectacular. The rolling hills and massive green pastures speckled with cattle and sheep really surprised us. As my husband says, No macmansions in sight and more cows that people. Despite the natural beauty of this place, the real treat was getting to know The owners Bill and Judie. Loved hearing their stories of the renovations, cattle and dog breeding, canning and life on the farm for generations. The breakfasts and Thanksgiving dinner were delicious! Canā€™t wait to return.

This is a beautiful property!

Incredibly warm sense of hospitality, with a casual friendliness that made the stay even nicer. It was an amazing room with beautiful grounds, and atmosphere. The breakfast was outstanding, too! We had a great time.

A Lidl' Bit of Heaven

What an awesome vacation experience. My husband and I couldn't have enjoyed ourselves anymore than we did. Mr. Bill was so much fun to talk to, we didn't want to leave. He took us for a tour of his farm and the cannery, where they make the best jellies, jams and pickles. We came back home with 18 Jars of all the goodness. The farm is so peaceful but convenient to restaurants and shopping, the scenery is breathtaking and Mr. Bill and his family are some of the finest people I've ever met. I can't recommend this place enough and my husband and I can't wait to get back!

Wonderful Weekend

We had an excellent weekend away on the farm with Bill and Judie. The room was excellent, the food was great and they made sure we were taken care of from check in to check out. We really appreciated them letting us walk the farm at our leisure and watch the sheep shearing.

Absolutely perfect

This was a much needed getaway after being in quarantine for over a year. My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway in a historical building and the Inn at Meadowcroft delivered. This property has amazing views and the owners are absolutely delightful. The conversation and the stories are enough reason to come back, but the lovely copper soaking tub is an amazing addition. The breakfast was delicious and as close to farm to table as you can get (the eggs and bacon are from the farm and the jam is homemade and canned by the owners). They make you feel like family here and we will definitely be back as we highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

Cute and cozy

Disconnect from the world and reconnect with each other was our goal and the Jacob Swoope Suite sure did accommodate. We spent the evening talking in front of the fire. Then woke to the birds singing and warm french toast. We loved our stay at the Inn at Meadowcroft and would recommend it. Our only regret is that we didnā€™t stay longer.

One of a kind!

This place is the perfect combination of centuries old cabins and quality new construction. Even in the cold snowy weather, the entire suite was warm and cozy, thanks to the heated floors and the gas fireplace. Every detail of the place was done in the highest quality. We were also given a wonderful tour of the farm and pickle factory! One of the most beautiful pieces of land I have ever seen. This is a place that must be experienced, not only the buildings and the grounds but the hosts Judie and Bill are so kind and generous. We will be telling all our friends!!

Beautiful! Swoope suite is excellent and copper bath tub is amazing. Can hear voices in the AM from the main dining area but not super noisy. Accommodating with allergies but did double check with the chef day of. We loved this place! Wifi was T times spotty

Scenic Farm Getaway

Perfect place to escape. Gorgeous functioning farm property with rolling hills, beautiful sunsets and a sky full of stars at night. Owner was more than accommodating and the room was cozy and comfortable. Enjoy the jams and pickles made on site as well!
