Oregon City Getaway

The rental is secluded and quiet, clean and well equipped. The outdoor environment is astonishingly beautiful. The landscape is amazing. Marlaine and Steve made everything easy for us.

Cozy Home Away From Home

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The Sanctuary

Our stay at the Stonehouse was perfect. The accommodations were beautiful, spacious, clean, secure, and well appointed. The gardens and grounds were magnificent and provided a lovely setting for us to play outside with our grandchildren and have all our family meals. The hosts were friendly, communicative, and professional. We're looking forward to coming back to stay at the Stonehouse whenever we return to the charming town Oregon City.

Beautiful secluded getaway

The pictures don't do the place justice. The kitchen and bathroom have recently been re-done. The decor is tasteful and is more spacious than the pictures make it look. This is the perfect peaceful getaway. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and happily provided any additional house/kitchen supplies we desired. They were kind and available while still giving us privacy. The backyard has a perfect patio and swing with views of the trees and forested area. The ideal place to watch the leaves turn during the fall. The place is a 10-15 minute walk from quaint downtown Oregon City and about a 30-minute drive from the city of Portland. There is a short hiking trail right off the driveway that is lovely for a stroll. We loved it and would absolutely book again!

A Natural Wonderland

The address says it all. Cleaved out of an old quarry and on the brink of a gulch, every facet of this expansive and comfortable retreat is a pleasant surprise. An accessible private wilderness in the heart of things.

A must if you are planning to visit Oregon City!

We decided to book The Stonehouse based upon the unbelievably beautiful setting and appearance of the property, although we wondered: could this place be as amazing as it appears? What others said in prior reviews seemed to confirm what the pictures and description of the property conveyed. Now that we have stayed at the house, we can also say the same. If you are interested in a very quaint and private VRBO in an gorgeous natural setting, look no further! We found this property to be exceptionally clean with everything we could think of to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. The owners are impeccable hosts, working so hard to make your stay the best that it can be, interested in attending to every detail. The surrounding area is very walkable/hikeable and we enjoyed the park near the property, as well as walking to explore the surrounding area. The Stonehouse truly was a home away from home, but even better, as our back yard cannot compare to this one!

Absolutely beautiful inside AND outside

Lovely quiet location with amazing landscaping/views. The inside was super nice, clean and very comfortable. Kitchen supplies and appliances were great. Lighting was good. Also, inside was an amazing stone wall! Bonus: HIKING Trail into Oregon City!

Stonehouse Stay

The setting here is so beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and tended to very lovingly. The apartment was stocked better than any VRBO we have stayed at in the past.. It also looked exactly like it was advertised. Owners were wonderful.

The Stonehouse is located in Oregon City. The first city in Oregon. It is a wonderful mix of old and new. We love the diversity of people and the history. Down town is abounding with great food and activities. We love this city.

What makes this property unique

This property is a rare find. Even from the driveway entrance you won't see the house till you get to the end of Quarry Street. We are in the city and in the woods. Just the kind of home you think of when you think of Oregon. From your patio there isn't a house in sight, unless you look out over the city. Peace and tranquility, birds and squirrels
, mountains and Portland sky lines off in the distance, and evening sunsets glowing through the trees. Sit on a large boulder left from the old rock quarry and read a book. Swing on an adult size swing and feel like a child again. Or take a nap in one of two hammock chairs. Turn on the patio party lights and have friends over for dinner outside and marshmallows around the fire pit. It can't get much better than this.
