Contemporary comfort plus charm
I confess: what I was looking for was a relaxing family vacation, but I also had to make sure our entire family, a multi-generational group, was happy. Some of us wanted nothing more than to lounge by the pool while others wanted to explore the area of Luberon, which feels like quintessential Provence. I am happy to report this vacation home pleased us all.
The setting is magical and suited my need for quiet; the gardens and adjoining woods created that tranquility. More than one day was spent shifting between the lounge chairs to the pool for a refreshing swim and back again. Several towns made for sweet side-trips. Roussillon’s colorful picturesque facades were memorable, and we loved the architectural highlights of Bonnieux, with its churches and medieval wall. We were grateful that the house was centrally located and offered us a chance to explore this lush region.
The house itself proved more than comfortable for our party of five. It felt both spacious and homey. Several amenities made it easy to come back to the house each evening and enjoy family time or start the day with a home-cooked breakfast around the table.
My recommendation would be to balance your time between exploring all that the area offers while also making time to simply stay put and soak up the garden and all the ambience of this house that feels contemporary yet in perfect harmony with the charm of Provence.
