Englewood – a veritable gold mine
Once primarily known as a promising spot for prospectors, you’ll soon discover Englewood is a regular gold mine in its own right. 10 miles south of downtown Denver, Englewood is known for its residential neighborhoods, numerous parks, and charming downtown. In southwestern Englewood, the sprawling Belleview Park includes walking trails and a petting zoo. With light rail access to central Denver and a free local shuttle, it’s easy to get from your Englewood vacation rental to sights like Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, the Museum of Outdoor Arts, and Pirates Cove Water Park.

When it’s time to beat the heat, locals head to Pirates Cove, an open-air water park with waterslides, a lazy river, and even a man-made beach. Englewood’s parks, recreation, and beyond
While Englewood boasts a park system that includes more than 250 acres of green space, the biggest and most popular is Belleview Park, a hit with families thanks to its petting zoo and rides on a seasonal miniature train. At an elevation of 5,371 feet above sea level, the city of Englewood is even farther up than its mile-high neighbor to the north. Englewood is located within the valley of the South Platte River, a popular destination for flyfishers thanks to its thriving trout population.

The nearest airport is in Denver Intl. Airport (DEN), located 21.8 mi (35 km) from the city center. If you can't find a flight that works for your travel itinerary, you could also fly into Broomfield, CO (BJC-Rocky Mountain Metropolitan), which is 19.3 mi (31 km) away.
