About Patricia Evans
Built in 1965, Mansfield House is owned by a large Vermont family that enjoys seasonal visits here for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and swimming. Our parents/grandparents designed and built the property, and as a result Mansfield House has the feel of a visit to a family home. Photos of the family decorate one long hallway, and the Airplane room hints of the adventurous aviation history of Granddad's days as a pilot. The gardens and clear view to the mountain still reflect the family's love of beautiful outdoor spaces.

Great house in the mountains
Great house! Exactly what we were looking for with the best views of the mountains. About 45 minutes from Stowe with lots of breweries and things to do.
This home is a perfect getaway for any season. The view is spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
It’s a fantastic property for a large group! We had plenty of room! The outdoor seating area was fantastic. We throughly enjoyed having morning coffee while being in awe of the Mountain View!
It was an easy drive to Burlington and Lajoire Stables for horse back riding. The character and set up of the home was so welcoming. We hope to rent it again!
Beautiful family vacation spot
The kids, adults and dog in our party all made the most of this great property, from morning swims in the pond to afternoon lawn games to evening stargazing in the hot tub. It was a perfect place for a family vacation.
Uncle Ed’s wedding
The house was perfect! We were blown away with the Mountain View’s, kitchen size, the bedrooms and the beautiful flowers! It had everything we could ask for!!! Thank you for a lovely time !!)
Great for our family reunion
This big beautiful house has everything to make our reunion beyond perfect. Big fully equipped kitchen, big fireplace, hot tub, breathtaking views in all directions , lovely gardens, and even a pretty pond. Plenty of room for all of us . We'll be back for our next reunion.
Perfect for a large group
A close family friend was being married at the Essex so 13 of us between the ages of 3 months and 65 years stayed at the Mansfield House and it was perfect. The little ones loved the pond and the yard. The layout of the house with bedrooms at the 2 ends allowed privacy and was amazingly quiet. The location is absolutely stunning with mountain views and beautiful fields with stone walls. As so many others have said, you feel as though you are staying in a friend's house, full of history and love.
The town of Underhill is a relaxing setting for a quiet country vacation or a convenient location for access to skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, swimming, as well as shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing. It can all be done from this spectacular location.
