I had a wonderful stay in the Walnut Room! Kimmi, the innkeeper, made me feel so welcome from the start and gave me fantastic suggestions for local hikes that made my trip even more special.
The room itself was very comfortable, with thoughtful touches like coffee, tea, snacks, a microwave, and a coffee maker available. I especially enjoyed the lovely outdoor area, complete with tables and chairs surrounded by apple and pear trees—it was the perfect spot to relax.
I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for comfort, warm hospitality, and a peaceful setting
We loved staying here in the walnut room. Great location. The inn keeper Kimmie was a delight! She sat by the fire with us our second night and she is very informative about the area as to where to go and what to see. I highly recommend this property.
We had a very nice stay here. It was well-appointed and quiet. The hostess provided lots of coffee, tea, snacks, even little chapsticks with SPF. She responded very quickly to messages and was very friendly when we chatted with her in person. I highly recommend!
I felt very welcomed at this wonderfully managed place in my beautiful room. The room is small but is well equipped with microwave, larger capacity mini fridge, coffee, Thea and the snacks that welcomes you. The host was very helpful and accommodating. I enjoyed the evening fire and special hikes they suggested for me. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking to be near by the Bryce Canyon park.
We loved The Walnut Room. It’s was clean, cozy and the most comfortable bed! Kimmi was so welcoming & gave us great recommendations. It’s a quick drive to Bryce Canyon where we had a fabulous day & returned to a hot shower & sat out in the yard & watched the hummingbirds. Loved the larger mini-fridge where we could freeze ice packs & bring lunch into the park. Thanks for the snacks Kimmi. She’s added every detail you could want for.
We stayed 3 nights during a visit to Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome State Park and Grand Staircase Escalante. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Loved the property! Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean with nice tiled shower. The best part was the outdoor rockers and being able to sit under the shade tree and relax after a long day of hiking. I highly recommend this properly.
Very clean studio apartment. Quiet surrounding area. Nice to sit out in the provided chairs to enjoy the beautiful weather. Well stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, oatmeal, etc. Plenty of towels, shampoo, etc in the bathroom. Very pleased with this place and highly recommend!
Great property and location for accessing Bryce Canyon NP and Kodachrome Basin SP.
Provided amenities include healthy snacks and firewood and outdoor chairs/loungers.
Riverstone work in bathroom was beautiful but a little hard on feet. Bathroom was small is only drawback.
Perfect for young couples.
Like that it is a very limited occupancy property. Very quiet. It is unique with the room looking over the garden yard. The operator left snacks for us. We were able to communicate easily via email and texting options.
Friendly host Dixie greeted us and was available to help with anything. The Walnut tree room we stayed in had everything we needed for our two night stay, while we visited Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome & Mossy Cave. Amazing views of Bryce canyon & a beautiful night sky. Dixie's attention to detail is unsurpassed. We can't wait to return. There's so much more to see & do
This stay is beautifully furnished and clean. We enjoyed sitting outside evenings and could walk into the small town for dinner. It was small, as described but good utilization of space but after 3 nights we were happy to stretch out at our next stay. The one downside was that there is a microwave and supplies for oatmeal and coffee but no way to cook the oatmeal other than coffee mugs and no way ( soap, towels etc) to wash them. We ended up buying dish detergent and using the paper towels but there should have been supplies to do that if coffee and a micro are offered.
My wife and I stayed at Dixie's Walnut Tree Room for a few days in late April. Dixie's property was located in a quiet/residential neighborhood of Tropic, Utah. Grocery store, coffee shop, and local restaurants were all within easy walking distance which was fantastic after several days of driving and exploring Bryce Canyon and other nearby public lands. The room itself was very clean and had a really impressive bathroom and shower constructed from river stones, very cool :) The outside area was perfect for lounging in the sun, with views of the surrounding mountains and plateaus. This is really a fantastic place to stay in a town with all the necessary amenities for hikers and adventurers alike! Would absolutely recommend!
This room is very small, but was enough for our 2 night stay. We liked that it was in the neighborhood and gave us a nice "small town country" feel. Since we were staying at hotels before and after, we really liked this simple homey feel.
I didn't realize until the 2nd day that the stairs inside the room leading (I assume) to the other airbnd room next door had drawers built into the stairs. No other drawers in the room, so wished I had noticed them. The "closet" had no hangers. I just used it to lay down my suitcase so I could grab my clothes out of it there. It was a strange layout.
The yard was huge... best part was sitting out there in the quiet and watching the deer and pheasant that came to visit! Note, the outside pictures of the front door and the picnic table were not accurate... no table or potted plants around, that doesn't look like our front door, and a bit of feeling of disrepair overall in the yard. There was swing chairs set in the corner near the lawn mower, but they weren't comfortable and partially broken.. my bottom hit the floor when swinging on one.
FYI, there was plywood on the front and back of the main house garage... it was a bit off-putting when we drove up. You need to drive to the back of the house on the gravel road and park there.
A few weeks before, I sent a question to the property owner, which I never received a response to.
Overall, we enjoyed the solitude in the neighborhood and this worked for us, as we are very laid back.
