The stove went off while you cooked, there was no coffee creamer and no spray to whipe up spills. The house was cheaply renovated and missing smoke alarms. I was visiting because my mom passed November 16th. We had an issue with the repass so we needed a place for everyone to help my siblings and I grieve. My son, nieces and nephews just lost their last grandmother before reaching adulthood. The ad said do not be outside after 9pm and do not disturb the neighbors. So I told my family, a lot of whom, I haven't seen since I was a child. They have never met my children in person. My cousin, who is disabled, could not make it into the house. It would have been helpful to have use of the garage. So we had to call the fire department. So the host showed up and was very unempathetic. I was always taught to let people grieve. Wars have been stopped to allow a grief period. But he told me I had to have my family leave. We were not loud. We were not playing music. We were not belligerent. We don't even drink. I said ok then I was immediately asked how long would it take to get them out. I said, I do not know. He told me he'd wait outside for 15 min while they left. I said ok. He then asked me how many people were in the house and that it was against the law. Well, everyone was making their way out. I didn't even get to say goodbye and will probably never see a lot of them again until their own funerals. I will never be back to that home. I was left to grieve alone and had a break down.
