A vrbo host in Bordeaux cancelled on us the day we were arriving there. Vrbo offered us this apartment as substitute, and sent us one 5 star review. The reality was different :The apartment was listed as two bedroom, but the second sleeping area was a loft built on top of the kitchen area, which made both levels very low and gave a feeling of crowdedness. This apartment was also directly above a restaurant, in a narrow cobbled street, with at least two more restaurants and three or four bars in it. This provided us with noise every night we stayed there, until about two am, too much to find sleep. (no noise cancelling options, window frames with gaps and single panes). After reaching out to the hosts, they simply stated that it was only noisy on the weekend (we only stayed there on week nights). Communication stayed difficult: after asking for a dish towel and perhaps a few hangers (no storage in the entire apartment), we were promised some that did not appear. When informing the hosts that the washer did not work, they replied that it worked perfectly.The reason for two instead of one star: the actual bedroom was nice, the beds comfy, and if you intent to stay there only a night or two, to party and don't need the second sleep area, it's not too bad. We paid for 27 nights, and only could stay there for 6, having to accept a heavy financial loss, since neither the host nor vrbo allowed us to step back... Needless to say, never again.
