The house and property was perfect. Host was super responsive to questions and very helpful. She even gave us suggestions for lake fishing nearby so that all the kids caught a fish.
Very cute and clean. Lots of wildlife, and great for fishing. We stayed over the July 4th weekend, and the fireworks were amazing all around us. Great neighbors also.
3 of us stayed here for 5 days for our annual archery trip to Ohio. First time staying at this property. It was very clean but a bit small. The owner was very easy to work with through the process.
Very relaxing. Spent most of my time on the porch. Only thing is if you have any mobility problems you can’t get down to the river. I thought there were stairs to go down but it was a ramp that I could not do. Would stay here again.
My mother, sister, and enjoyed our stay. We got in late Friday and missed the driveway, in the dark. After we got turned around, we were fine. Woke up and had coffee on the back porch, while watching for the Eagles. It was so exciting to see them thriving! We went to the Wilds on Saturday [@a 20 minute drive] it was great. Thanks for a great stay 😁
The cabin was very cute with all of the necessities provided. The river is all you see when you look out back. There are two decks and other lounging areas. Kate was very helpful in resolving one minor issue we had. The only downside would be the proximity to a busy road - not a problem for us - but if you had small children or were a light sleeper you would need to come prepared. Once you walk in and see the river, you forget about the road. The cabin is tucked back in the trees.
Perfect size for the 2 of us, very clean inside. The bedroom and livigroom were comfortable. Highlight of the cabin was the covered deck off the kitchen, fantastic. Yes, it sits on a main road and yes its noisy but ear plugs are provided if you can't manage to ignore it. Kitchen supplies are a bit scarce so if you plan on cooking plan on packing your own. The outside of the home needs a lot of yard maintenance. The pontoon dock is a great idea, as is the built-in hut, but again much cleaning and maintenance needed.
It just so happened to be raining all weekend we were there, but it was not a problem. It was quite and perfect to sit on the patio and watch the rain on the lake and the amazing sunsets. I would have liked to have some LED candles on the patio or some accent lighting for the evening. The dock in the picture was replaced by a pontoon, but the fishing shelter was really nice.
What a great place! We had a ball at Eagle View Cabin in McConnelsville. This riverside cabin was clean, cute and everything the posting said it was.
We saw deer, cranes, ducks and geese and heard the eagle. Outdoor area was very nice and very peaceful!
Kate was a great host and I would stay here again!!
Kate provided a wonderful, relaxing stay for my wife and I. The rental was very clean and well equipped for our short stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet mornings and evenings sitting on the back porches, either the upper or lower; both provided river views and peaceful tranquility. As a statement of clean: I have never seen a cleaner grill unless it was sitting on a showroom floor in a store; everything else was cleaned to the same standard. Wildlife is abundant... definitely recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

Yeoman's effort
The house was a bit different than what we anticipated after seeing the photos on VRBO. However, this home sits on a river making our stay rather enjoyable. The deck outside was very nice. It seems some improvements internally might be needed, but overall the residence was clean on the inside. Tidying up outside would make it more attractive.
Stayed a whole week (Jun 12-19) in this immaculately clean cabin right on the river. Kate was so helpful when we needed a card table and clothing rack...ask and you shall receive! Everything you need for cooking and grilling was there, we could have brought less. Enjoyed fishing from the pontoon dock with it's comfy seating. If you are not into fishing you will love the great location close to McConnelsville, Zanesville, and Marietta where you can shop, dine, and stroll through the historic downtown areas. The cabin was affordable and really appreciated sheets, towels, dish towels, hot pads, etc being provided. Loved this place and we will be back!

Could have been better
First, I will say...Kate was very attentive. We ran out of gas the first time using the grill...she was there in no time with a new tank. I surely don't mean to be "critical" but...when we are charged a cleaning fee and the place isn't clean..I have a problem. The cottage is pretty for sure...but..the floors were filthy. Our feet were black on the bottom. The kitchen sink had grime in the bottom. We took the trash out as directed at checkoutl The trash can was full. and was also full of maggots..I'm sorry THAT is unacceptable!!!! Even if trash pickup wasn't until Wednesay...I believe THAT is part of the CLEANING fee! We've stayed at several VRBO's...we always been pleased. We won't be returning.
We stayed at this property in lieu of a hotel, as we were in town to work with students at Morgan Jr. High. It was a wonderful location to return to each day, allowing us to fully recharge. Communication with the host was thorough, timely, and helpful (especially restaurant recommendations). The best part was the many choices for outdoor seating and relaxation. A simple fire right by the riverside was the perfect way to end each day.
Super clean, looks just like the pics. Amazing views. Fishing was a bit challenging but we are not familiar with fishing fast moving water, you are just a few houses from dam/Locke. Plenty of space/options to just sit out back and watch the river even if it was raining. My daughter loved the hammock. We saw ducks every evening. We stayed Labor Day weekend and the neighbors and campers on the other side gave us a firework show which was a bonus! We cooked out on the grill (which I might have to get that model because it cooks perfectly). Thanks for sharing your house with us Kate!
Enjoyed everything about the house and surroundings. All the amenities were as stated except there was a grill and it wasn't on the list. Took mine just in case.
The host was very helpful, polite and kind.
Really enjoyed the fishing on the river and the house being close. I definitely would rent this property again for a quiet and enjoyable vacation.
We were so happy to find this little treasure by the river! The inside is updated and cozy The back deck overlooking the river offers a beautiful shaded view of the river, and a nice grill and comfy furniture. The host was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions. We will be back!
Great little cabin for a family. Nice small, one bedroom with a loft with two small beds for kids. You can fish from the backyard but sitting on the back porch and relaxing is the best! There are some great state parks and activities around this location. Cell service is challenging.
