Rancho Loco is perfect for your desert hideaway home away from home. Come rain or shine, Rancho Loco has something beautiful to offer. When it's sunny, drinks by the pool, quiet time on the veranda with a book, watching the sun rise or set and enjoying some good barbecue with friends and family. When it's stormy – get cozy on the couch with a fire crackling away, a home cooked meal with a glass of wine while you watch the clouds roll in over the dramatic landscape, framed by the huge picture windows. Rancho Loco also affords extra privacy with separate living quarters, the cozy & bright main house and the open & airy studio.

Located on its own secluded 20 acres, minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, Rancho Loco offers 360º views with over 50 Joshua trees, yuccas and native desert foliage all on the property. Situated between the two houses is a salt water swimming pool and separate Hot Tub with an observation deck, perfect for sunset viewing, outdoor dining, and maybe even a skinny dip under the stars. Rancho Loco is a rustic modern take of a 1920s ranch house updated to today's standards including solar power as its primary source of energy and water drawn from a private on-site well!

Rancho Loco is a great affordable base no matter what your interests are – rock-climbing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, model rocket launching [our fave], novel writing or just relaxing by the pool. Everything as posted, a lot of games, there are things for everyone and for everything. The place is really quiet - good to rest after living in a big city! It’s clean and everything works. I’d love to stay here again!

Our stay was fantastic! The kitchen was well stocked and the home was cozy. The peace and quiet of the area was exactly what we were looking for. The host was responsive and very kind.

I’ve stayed here many times and every time it’s absolute perfection if I was to say anything about this time as the water pressure was a bit low so maybe the tank is low right now. But otherwise it’s always the best place I’ve ever stayed in the high desert.

Came out for a quick getaway The location was great not a sound but for the record player and the bubbling spa Marcus was great with the details and there is more than enough space with the extra house will return again!!

Great desert experience!

We loved our time here and would highly recommend for anyone wanted a secluded desert experience! The place was clean, orderly and the beds were comfy. Their pet friendly atmosphere was great and our dogs loved roaming the 20 acres of desert that goes with the house.

Perfect for exploring JTNP & Palm Springs!

My family of 4 stayed here for a week while we did some hiking and rock climbing in the Joshua Tree area. The house is in a great location to access Joshua Tree National Park, as well as the general Palm Springs area. We visited the Living Desert Zoo, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to Mount San Jacinto, downtown Palm Desert & Palm Springs, Palm Canyons, and of course Joshua Tree National Park while we were there and everything felt like it was within a reasonable driving distance. The house itself is wonderful - there is plenty of space and seating, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. As we were up early each day for our activities, we enjoyed several stunning sunrises just outside the front door, and loved the peaceful quiet of the area in the evenings. Having the sleeping areas split between 2 buildings may not work for all families, but it was fine for us, as our teens slept in the studio while we slept in the main house.Overall, it was an excellent place to stay while enjoying the JTNP area, and we would definitely return if we're ever in the area again!

Perfect

We come regularly here. The two buildings are a great choice with comfy beds everywhere. The pool is perfect in a hot day and the hot tub will be great on our winter trip when we hope to return.

Amazing property

The photos on the listing do not give enough justice to the views on this property. Communicating with the host was easy. Check in/out seamless. Many reviews mention they’ve stayed here multiple times and can see why. Already planning our return trip to Rancho Loco.

A great secluded getaway

We (two families 4 adults and 3 kiddos) had a blast staying, and it was a super convenient spot for our Joshua Tree exploring. Had a small issue with the heater at check in (probably user error tbh) but the property management replied immediately and helped all they could - and we got it sorted out right away. This spot had everything we needed for meals and to sleep easy. Fav memory of the weekend: Grilling up some bbq as the kids enjoy the pool and the sun setting on the desert, while the Johnny Cash vinyl plays on the outdoor speakers - followed by a star gazing s’mores session around the fire pit. 👍👍

The Perfect Property

Marcus’ property is perfect for a vacation. My friends and I stayed at the house for a weekend over Easter and were so happy with everything. There’s plenty of room between the two houses for everyone to have enough space but not feel separated. The property itself has amazing views and is close enough to town but far enough away to feel the true Joshua tree experience.

Awesome spot near JT

This was a perfect spot for our family visit to Joshua tree. Close to the park, peace and quiet at night. Kids loved the casita. The house was clean, great decor, and the kitchen well stocked. The water was hot and water pressure was great. Shooting star show from the spa was an unexpected bonus! A couple of polar plunges into pool even happened. The kids were sad that they didn’t spy the desert tortoise, so we’ll have to come back when they aren’t hibernating:)

The idea of a two hour car drive putting you in a different world creates an invaluable peace of mind.

Unlike many vacation homes in Joshua Tree, Rancho Loco provides a year round experience due to the salt water pool, which provides the remarkable sensation of cool blue water beneath the hot summer sun and the limitless night skies. The recently added Hot Tub adds a year round experience.
